Not what we were expecting

(Connor POV)

As we finished walking down the tunnel making our accent up a flight of stairs, we found our selves in an empty train station. A large red and black train stood in front of us. As we stood there Lexi seemed to realize something reaching inside her short jacket and pulling out a sheet of parchment.

"I was right," she excitedly exclaimed, "In our letter it says to go towards train stop nine and three quarters." We all look at her with a confused look. Everyone one else began to pull out their letters, reading each word carefully until they saw it.

I started looking around for anything with a fraction, until I noticed a large red sign with "Hogwarts Express" written in golden lettering underneath 9 3/4.

"Hey I found it," I yell back at the group which were conversing amongst themselves. Though I couldn't hear what they said, they did look very confused.

"What's wrong," I asked while they caught up to me.

"In the letter here," Amanda says pointing to a part of the letter facing away from me, "It says to get to the station we need to run into the wall and we'll be there."

I look at the large brick pillar and at her, "We run into that, oh wow and I guess we'll also have to figure out three riddles as well," I say while walking towards the pillar, "Here I'll do the secret know to get us in." As my knuckle begins to touch the brick it continues going through it until my hand is gone.

"What the fuck," I say while fully walking in the wall with a large suction bringing me into the station.

I wait until I see Derrick run onto the station.

"Test dummy," I say, to which he shrugs.

"Not much I could do, they were all nervous and I was very curious. Anyways where the hell are we." Turning around we large walls coming to a large rounded and windowed ceiling, allowing for the natural sunlight to beam down onto us.

As we were marveling at the amazing architecture, we heard the girls talking to each other with not so hushed voices. Among our amazement we heard a loud train whistle piercing the air announcing that it'll be leaving soon.

"After you," I say to the girls allowing them to get in the train first. After we all boarded the train, the doors shut behind us and the train lurched into motion. Moving along we opened the door to see seats and a table and we made our way in.

Getting a nice window seat for myself, I watch forests and hills past by as I turn and join the conversation the others were having.

"What do you think magic is like," asked a very excited Lexi.

"I hope it is cool," Amanda says fiddling with her hair.

"I wonder what magic sports they have," Derrick asks while flexing a few of his muscles.

I decided to play along with this magic thing, because I ran through a wall and teleported more than once. "I think it'll be something far beyond our understanding and probably something we should handle with care."

"I wonder if I could make a cake with magic," Lexi said trying to break the tension I accidentally created.

"I just hope we can all stay together," Leah said, "we're the "muggles" at this school and Americans. It'll be easier for us if we stick together and try and figure this all out."

We all nod and talk about what we wish to accomplish with our new found greatness.

During this time we begin to truly understand and appreciate each other. Through this long train ride that lasted nine hours, we talk about what was happening in our lives, and what we think this new school is going to be like. Though we were now introduced to magic we are now going to new school.

I talk about my early childhood and make up a story that could've happened if everything worked out perfectly. I learn about people's hope about wanting to change the world with magic.

And as the school comes into view our jaws are hitting the floor in astonishment. This is t what we were expecting. Not even if we put all our expectations together times five, it's scale would still tower above them.
