CHAPTER FIVE

The next day at Benny Hotel,

A car halted in the driveway of the magnificent hotel, the back door was opened by one of the guards.

Martin stepped out, looking hot on his white shirt and Black shiny trousers, the spec he put on  makes him stand out like a model

Mordecai came out through the other backdoor, and together, they stepped into the hall which is filled with reporters. 

The cameras were focused on their faces till they got to the front, where they're given full attention.

"Finally, my friend is back from being an alien," Mordecai laughed, earning the camera for himself.

"Welcome back to Japan Martin Cornelius!" The interviewer said cheerfully.

"Thanks" 

"WE HEARD YOU WERE SENT AWAY BECAUSE OF THE CLASHES BETWEEN YOU AND YOUR BROTHER, IS THAT TRUE??" 

"Well, that's just rumors. I left the country to pursue my dream." He said. 

"BY SAYING TO PURSUE YOUR DREAM, DID YOU INTEND TO SAY MARCIA ENTERTAINMENT  ISN'T YOUR DREAM??.

"It actually but I to leave it for a while"

"ARE YOU TWO PLANNING TO COME BACK, I MEAN MARCIA ENTERTAINMENT"

"No, we have business to take care of," Mordecai answered.

"THANKS FOR YOUR TIME, ONCE AGAIN WELCOME BACK TO JAPAN MARTIN CORNELIUS"

Mrs Cornelius was relaxing on a couch, in the sitting room, watching her favorite movie. She loves watching anytime she's less busy.

"Zara" she called her personal maid

"Ma'am" Zara said, rushing to her.

"I want you to prepare a delicious meal, I would be having a visitor" 

"Alright ma" Zara bow slightly.

"And make it snappy," she said calmly.

The doorbell rang.

"Ooh, they are here, go make the meal quickly, I want to entertain them well" Mrs Cornelius said. She went to open the door.

"Parsley" Eugenia call happily

"My friend, it's been awhile" Mrs Salvador said, hugging Eugenia tightly.

"Am glad you to visit"

"Hi mummy" Phoenix greet

"Oh my baby.. you're so beautiful" Eugenia hugged Phoenix too.

"Thanks mummy" she blushed

"Feel free sweetie, this is also your home" Eugenia said.

"Make yourself comfortable before the meal is ready," Eugenia said.

"Where's Martin, I heard is back from Australia." Mrs Salvador asked.

"He went to an interview with his friend." She replied

"We came to visit him." Mrs Salvador said.

"So, it's him you came to visit, then he will be the one to entertain you." Eugenia said funnily.

"Jealous freak, we'll wait for him." Mrs Salvador laughed out, Eugenia joined her in laughing.

Phoenix smiled slightly, her mind wasn't there with them, she was thinking how handsome he would have been. 'Is he going to like her' she thought"

"The meal is ready." Zara announced.

"We would be here in a ."

"Let's go and eat our meals." Eugenia said.

They all walk to the dining room and settle for their meal, when the door opens.

 "Martin." Phoenix gushed

"Welcome Martin, you heard of your arrival yesterday, how was Australia, you're now a grown up man, where's your wife." Mrs Salvador asked.

Martin just looked at her without uttering a word before leaving for his room. Mrs Salvador was dumbfounded by his behavior.

"Am so sorry for that, maybe someone is stressing him out there." Eugenia said, going after him.

"Mom, is he going to like me at all?" Phoenix asked, worried.

"The Martin I know isn't like this, he has changed a lot, you see how he snub my greeting.. right?? Mrs Salvador said, still in shock.

"No! No!, He has changed a lot, like Martin that will here to hug me" 

"Mum, that means he hates us." Phoenix panicked

"Humanity changes, and besides, he's now a grown up man not the kid of yesterday, all you have to do is win his heart." Mrs Salvador said.

"Am a beautiful lady, no man who dares ignore me, you know mummy." Phoenix said egotistical

"You take after me, baby."  Mrs Salvador smile

"Never will I take after you!" Phoenix Snickers

"You've started your foolishness.., right?? Mrs Salvador sneered, Phoenix only rolled her eyes.

Eugenia walked briskly to grab Martin by his arm before he could enter his room. 

"Martin, what was that for.?? 

"Answer me, what was the meaning of that nonsense you did, have you started behaving like your brother or what… What am I going to say again."  Mrs Cornelius yelled

"Mum, you don't need to worry, I have to relax" 

"Relax??'.. after you disgrace me down there." Mrs Cornelius snapped

"Mom, I didn't disgrace you, and who's she by the way." Martin asked, pissed off.

"Don't tell me you don't remember parsley anymore." Eugenia asked, shock written all over her face.

"Oooh! Your friend." Martin exclaimed

"Yes"

"What did she want.?? Martin asked nonchalantly.

"How will you talk in such a manner?" Eugenia snapped

"What did you want me to do, go down there and apologize or what??." 

"Apparently, that's the right thing to do."

"Spare me that mummy."

"Come and do the needful." Eugenia said, dragging Martin with her.

"Fine, fine, stop dragging me, let me walk." Martin releases himself from her hold, before looking at the two women.

He signed.

"Hi Mrs Salvador." Martin murmurs, but audible for her to hear.

"Martin, I thought you forgot about me." Mrs Salvador smiled. She hugged him slightly but he never hugged back.

"This's Phoenix, parsley daughter." Eugenia said.

"Hi Martin." Phoenix smiles sheepishly.

"Hey." He replied dryly.

"The meal would be wax cold, let's take it before it becomes sour." Eugenia gestured to them.

"Not hungry." Martin replies straight out.

"Let me leave you two to get to know each other."

"Thanks mummy." Phoenix mouthed.

Mrs Salvador and Eugenia leave for the dining room, giving them the privacy to know each other.

"Huhm, how was life in Australia?" Phoenix asked, after a decade of silence between them.

"I have something to attend to, you just join them to eat, so you won't look skinny, you're skinny enough." Martin Snickers, then walked out of her.

Phoenix bump out her eyes in shock, like what the fuck! How dare he insult her.
