Chapter 19
Dale pulled Riadh toward him and wound both arms around Riadh’s body. “God…what a waste of a four hour drive. Let’s go back to the car and get out of the city. Forget the hotel idea.”

Two hours of driving back in the direction of home, Riadh noticed Dale was alternating between rubbing his shoulder and squirming in the seat.
“You could have asked me to drive,” Riadh said.
“Yeah, I probably should have asked you to trade off with me. Let’s stop. I’m starving. I know you could whip me up some food, but I need a stretch and a bathroom, too.”
“That sounds like a good idea.”
Dale pulled the car into the parking lot of a diner. The sign read, Carl’s Café—breakfast all day
They got out and went inside. The waitress told them they could sit wherever they liked. Dale pointed at the counter.
“I’m gonna hit the bathroom. Order me a coke.” Dale walked toward the back corner.
