The Deposit

Vince walked into a much larger portion of the cave where his men had gathered, they were drinking, eating and partying like it was the last night of their lives, that was after all their main way to relax as societal outcasts due to their affiliation to the cult. They all used to lead normal lives but the pipe dream of being upper-class citizens when the cult took over the world was too much for them to resist. The moment Vince entered their midst they started partying even harder probably as an invitation for him to join them but he ignored all that and walked straight to a buff man who was the DJ for the party and whispered something in his ear before leaving soon after.

The party went on deep into the night preventing Vince from sleeping properly but at his level, he only needed to rest, sleep was a luxury that he couldn't afford on ordinary days but as he thought about his life from being a soldier for the families, to his betrayal and his wife's murder, he had no regrets about the path that he had chosen, this reminiscing quickly took him to dreamland and the next day quickly arrived.

"We are off to create destruction, the four great families are the real cancer to our society and we will take them down from the roots right to the very top are you with me?" "YEEES". "Weak answer, I said ARE YOU WITH ME?" "YEEEEES". The DJ from the party was helping to get the people fired up for the mission of creating chaos in the territories of the four great families.

"Ento", Vince called to the man who quickly came running to him, "take the men to The Deposit and cause a ruckus, I'll head to Base 4 and give the recruits some lessons". "We should all be here in a week to give our reports and this time try not to lose many men we can't afford that". Saying this Vince jumped onto a hovering vehicle with some resemblance to a motorcycle and flew off into the distance leaving the men packing weapons in crates into trucks. The man named Ento looked at the disappearing Vince and quietly said, "Be careful, old friend".

The Deposit and Base 4 were very popular places due to their connection with warriors. The deposit was a place where warriors would unwind after spending time in the wild fighting monsters and Base 4 was a training camp for the newest recruits of the great families' joint army. Both of these places were important to the great families, making them look like juicy pieces of meat to their enemies which in this case would be the cultists.

A group of stores, offices, bars and other entertainment centres on a hilltop were surrounded by a huge wall with guards all around, this was The Deposit. The warriors inside were probably a few thousand, so it was naturally loud, but a louder sound was heard towards the walls. It sounded like someone was dragging a chair on the ground, and though it was uncomfortable, it made all of them curious causing them to wait outside the stores staring at the huge gate. A few people had even taken out their weapons in anticipation of a huge fight but they were not expecting what would appear.

A huge scaled lizard about twenty metres long, if you included its tail was being dragged on the ground by three heavy-duty trucks moving at top speed but the beast weighed so much that their speed was reduced by about twenty per cent. Most of the people who saw this scene wondered how they dragged such a huge corpse out of the wild without attracting any other beasts.

The large gates were opened to make way for such a strange scene, normally one would take the important parts and leave the rest of the corpse in the wild when dealing with huge beasts like this, it was quite rare for someone to bring the complete corpse of a beast this big out of the wild in one piece but as the old saying goes, "there is always a first time for everything".

The trucks dragged the beast inside and the drivers quickly got out to untie the steel cables that were attached to the beast, by this time most of the curious warriors had gotten bored and were going back to whatever they were doing when something even stranger happened. Several people jumped out of the back of the trucks brandishing weapons with grim looks on their faces.

Someone in the crowd came out of their shock and shouted, "Everyone those guys are the cultists". The moment the warriors heard this, they jumped towards the cultists and initiated a brawl with them. The cultist though crazy were not stupid, they made sure to take their fights into shops owned by the four great families as these stores were a great stream of money and other resources and destroying them would take time to rebuild physically and also in terms of customers' trust.

These small fights between the cultists and warriors were happening all around The Deposit but the biggest fight was between Ento and a slender woman who used a hammer as a weapon. This woman was called Lina and was a high-ranking army officer who could not bear to see the destruction of public property and so decided to put a stop to it herself by dealing with the strongest person the cultists had. Lina, despite her lanky frame, used a huge hammer that probably weighed a lot. She looked like a certain orange-haired anime character with an oversized sword except she had green hair.

Ento loved to fight with his fists but in this battle where they had similar levels of strength, his fighting style was putting him at a disadvantage so he did what any sensible person would do in such a situation, he turned around and ran away shouting," Retreat, the mission is complete". The remaining cultists who weren't either dead or captured rushed back to their trucks to leave the mess they had created.

Most warriors gave up on chasing after them but not Lina, she smashed her hammer on the ground sending rocks flying towards Ento's truck, creating a crater in the ground at the same time in a bid to stop them but Ento was no pushover, he let out a punch with so much power that it released shockwaves which destroyed the rocks from Lina's move and then pushed the truck tens of metres forward.

When they were some distance away, Ento slumped down slowly and let out a long sigh, he looked out the window to the sky and said to himself, "Vince, I hope your mission is going well".
