Ping.

Who messages this late at night and so early in the morning?

I think as I turn to attend to the message that just came in.

Switching on my phone, it's too bright so I turn my eyes away for a moment. I spy my husband next to me, sound asleep and snoring lightly. With no expression whatsoever, I turn back to the phone and click on the message notification.

I read the message and sit up.

"You think you'll have a happy life with Andrè? You're so lost in your fantasies. You better divorce him before you become the Divorced one. I'm telling you this because I care... Or do I really?" With a damn smiley emoji

She decided to disturb me so early in the morning because of him?

I scoff and look at my husband again. Is he really my husband even? I'm not so sure what to call him anymore. He has become someone I don't know anymore. Even if our marriage is contractual, doesn't mean I should be treated like a rag in his home.

I'll wait till morning to broach the topic with him, the two lovebird jerks.

I lay down back on the bed but now my sleep is totally gone.

Why did she have to message me and take my sleep? I feel so wronged.

She absolutely has to stop messaging me. She has made her intent clear enough and it's not a good one at that. That two faced bitch.

Reminds me of the first time I received the message from her.

Akeelah is with Andrè, serving him breakfast of tea and toast bread.

"I told you I prefer coffee to tea didn't I?" Andrè complains harshly

Akeelah does not say a word but simply takes the tea away. In her jean, her phone vibrates and she drops the tea tray on the kitchen counter and fished out her phone from her pocket.

Her eyes widen as she reads the message to the end.

She hurries over to Andrè who's looking at his phone with an angry face.

"I just got a message. A weird one."

"Aren't you weird yourself? What's the surprise?" He mutters under his breath, just loud enough for her to hear.

She pretends to not have heard him and pushes the phone into his hands. He looks at her disgusted but holds up the phone to read it. As he's reading, his angry expression slowly starts to soften, surprising Akeelah...

"Heard your name is Akeelah. You're married to Andrè? My only darling? You had better know your place, you this common woman. Andrè deserves better and that better is me. You may not care but my name is Anna Drayton. I've known Andrè for a long time. Like I said, I'm the better side for him. Fuck off, you ugly bitch."

Andrè reads aloud unconsciously.

"...Anna Drayton?!" He suddenly shouts aloud

He grabs his phone and calls the number that sent the message.

Anna picks the call on the third ring.

"Hello?" Andrè speaks into the phone

"Huh...Hello? Who's this?"

"Anna?"

"Yes it's her. Who is this?" She starts to sound impatient

"It's Andrè. Andrè Stilts."

A gasp comes from the other end of the call. Presumably Annas'.

"It's been a very long time. Why did you suddenly disappear? I was so disappointed?" Andrè speaks solemnly

Akeelah in the room just keeps looking at the drama unfolding I'm front of her, Eyes wide and standing stock still...

"You were disappointed but you're a married man now. Does your wife know about me?"

"I got your number from her now. Forget about me being married. I'll always be yours... Daarlinng" Andrè speaks and deliberately slurs on the Darling.

At the mentioning of Darling, Akeelah is angry but masks it. She simply turns to leave.

Andrè noticed her leaving but only casts her a disgusted look.

"I'll be a divorced man soon anyway. I will do my best to get rid of her. She's a pest anyway." He finishes his sentence with one of his eyes on Akeelah.

Akeelah hears his words and stops for a mini second before she continues walking like she didn't hear his words.

Their words fade away as she leaves the room.
