Chapter:1 Loveless Marriage [One Sided]

I had been waiting for my husband, Daniel, for what seemed like an eternity. The clock on the wall taunted me as I watched its hands slowly crawl towards 3 am.

Anxiety gnawed at my insides, twisting and turning, as I wondered where he could be. What could possibly be keeping him away for so long??

My mind raced with worst-case scenarios, painting a vivid picture of accidents, danger, and unspeakable horrors.

Had he been in a car crash?

Was he lying helpless somewhere, unable to call for help?

Panic surged through me, threatening to consume my every thought.

Exhaustion finally began to claim me as my eyelids grew heavy.

I succumbed to the weight of my worries and drifted off into a fitful sleep.

Suddenly, a deafening crash ripped through the silence of the night, jolting me awake.

Fear paralyzed me for a moment, my heart pounding like a drum in my chest. strained my eyes, desperately trying to make sense of the chaos before me.

And there he stood--my husband, stumbling into the room, his words slurred and his balance nonexistent.

A pang of relief mixed with disappointment washed over me as I realized what had truly kept him away.

Daniel was drunk.

Fighting back frustration, I rose from the bed and made my way towards him, my worries momentarily pushed aside in favor of ensuring his safety.

I reached out, my hands shaking slightly, as I steadied him.

Worried thoughts flooded my mind once more, but now there was an added layer of resentment. How could he be so careless?

So thoughtless?

As I guided Daniel towards the bed, a myriad of emotions swirled within me-concern, anger, and above all, love.

Love that compelled me to look past his flaws, to stand by his side despite the worry he had caused.

Suddenly, he pushed me and said, "I told you I don't like you."

I said, a little angrily, "If you don't like me, why did you marry me?"

Daniel grabbed my hair and said, "Get out of my room now."

I said in a painful voice, "Please leave my hair. I'm in a lot of pain."

"I want to hurt you," he seethed, his voice trembling with a mixture of anger and despair.
