Practicing Some More Magic

Heading back to the training room with my parents and Aeden I had some questions for him as we walked. 

Hey Aeden I wanna ask something. If you gain a body what will happen to the system?

<It will remain the same. While I have control over its functions am ultimately just personality or ego. still be tied to it if my body dies go back being immaterial and can build a new>

Okay I understand but I'm not gonna let you die. We are in this together I said while giving him a hug.

<Thank you Mihael> He replied while hugging me back. <There is one other thing you should know. Since are the host of system any upgrading in mana core will be ultimately up to you. If I gather it just go your or distributed between us am not sure.>

So that means that we will both be stuck at the same realm and need to progress together? 

<Yes that is correct. The only difference between us will be I might have different affinities to mana than you do.>

Hmm okay that is fine. If we get stuck too long in the same realm I am sure mom and dad can help us out.

Reaching the training room Raziel asked if Aeden wanted to participate. 

<Unfortunately because I do not have a true body cannot use mana or magic.>

Alright then I guess you can just sit by the side with Usiel. Raziel said. 

Come on dear, lets go watch them and you can tell me a bit more about yourself. Usiel said while placing a comforting arm on Aeden's back.

<There isn't much to tell but very well> Aeden replied while walking with her towards a table that appeared out of nowhere.

While they talked Raziel instructed Mihael on how to better control mana and had him summon a ball of mana to control. It came much easier this time only taking around an hour to summon instead of the few before. 

Great now instead of turning it into an element I want you to move it away from your body while still controlling it.

Alright dad I will try Mihael said with a focused look.

He began to slowly move it away from his hand but after about 2 inches he lost control of it. 

Try again Raziel said with the voice of a stern teacher. You managed to fire off a small bolt of fire so this should be easy.

Summoning the ball of mana again Mihael tried again but once he got to 2 inches away the ball of mana dissipated again. 

Well at least the time to summon the mana ball is getting shorter even if it is just like a minute Mihael said to himself. 

Trying again and again he didn't make much improvement. After about 5 hours of trying he managed to get the ball of mana about 5 inches away from his body. 

Sitting on the ground sweating and panting Raziel came towards him and gave him some water.

You did good today son. Controlling mana is a difficult process and the only way to improve it is slowly over time. While some medicine can help you with it you don't want to become dependent on them because they will hamper your growth in the future.

Then how did I manage to fire off the ball of fire? Mihael asked while confused.

Raziel smiled and explained. You just pointed in a direction and then let your control go. Since the mana had already changed to an elemental form you losing control of it didn't cause it to dissipate as much. While with pure mana it is different. Since the entire world is filled with mana the mana just wises to return to its natural place. By learning to control pure mana you will be able to control the elements and when you learn runes to cast more complex magic you will have better control and ease when casting your spells. I would give you an example but I will wait till Aeden can join in on the lessons.

Alright dad I understand but can we stop for today? I am really tired Mihael said with a weary smile.

Yes of course, I think it is almost time for lunch Raziel said with a smile. Do you need me to carry you?

No I will be fine just give me a couple minutes Mihael said while giving an embarrassed laugh. 

Hey you two lets go eat Usiel said while walking towards the exit with Aeden following. 

Hurrying to catch up all four of them went to have lunch.
