More School
The next day we woke up and headed to school. We were both excited to be learning more magic than the basics our parents taught us. We are pretty sure that our parents would have taught us more if we asked but we think they wanted us to learn more at school with people our ages. Heading back to school with our parents we had a nice walk through the city on the way to school. It is still weird how both modern day and medieval themes are kind of mashed together but we are getting used to it.
Finally reaching the school our parents said goodbye to us as we walked inside and headed towards our classroom. It seemed that the stats that increased through our system has given us different boosts since we very easy remembered the way towards the classroom through the maze like hallways of the classroom. Walking in we were the first ones there so we just took our seats and practiced making different shapes with our mana. We formed a ball and then turned it into a cube, then a pyramid. We kept going turning it into a game where one of us calls out a shape and then we both have to form it as fast as possible without having it destabilize. It was tricky and we both quickly learned that Aeden was quite good at controlling his mana. Much better than Mihael. But Mihael was more creative with the shapes he called out which made it trickier for both of them. We kept playing until we heard a system notification.
<Basic Mana Control Achieved>
After about 10 minutes the teacher with the 3 other students came in. He called for them to take their seats as he began his lesson. He passed us all what looked like a box with a maze and a ball. He explained that we have to wrap the ball in our mana and navigate it through the maze. He said this is to train our control and that it will be very difficult at first. He also gave us a bracelet that made it harder to lift things with our mana. It was like trying to lift things with just our minds. Everyone began trying to get through the maze and you can see everyone is sweating and struggling to make it through.
After an hour or so he finally called us to stop. Everyone was exhausted and nobody made it fully through the maze but the teacher comforted us saying that we did good and he never expected anyone to make it through. He passed us all a pill and told us to take it that it would help us recover quickly. We all took it and right when it touched our tongue it dissolved into liquid and slid down our throats. Once it reached our stomachs it dissolved into a gas and was absorbed by our bodies. We all quickly felt the feeling of our minds and mana being refreshed and cleared from all the stress we put on them.
Moving on to the next lesson the teacher quickly explained to us how to cast tier 1 spells. You can summon different elements with just mana but that is just tier 0. To actually cast spells he explained that you need to form the runes for the spells with your mana or through the other methods like chanting or using hand signs. He quickly demonstrated by chanting a spell.
[Oh elements of fire I ask of you. Shape yourself into a arrow of fire that will pierce my enemies]
An arrow of fire quickly appeared in front of him as he showed it to everyone. He then began explaining. By using words and infusing your voice with mana you are essentially forming the runes with your voice. Using hand signs acts the same way with your hands forming the runes. Using these methods you are able to form mostly anything with some limitations. You would have more freedom with your spells if you directly made the spells into a magic circle with your mana but this requires a high level of mana control and a lot of concentration. He then went on to show us some of the different forms of casting from weaving threads of mana together into knots and drawing runes on cards and infusing them with mana directly which will activate the spell.
He then spent the next hour showing us how to craft a basic spell with chanting. Speaking the words helps your mind visualize the spell properly but if you you mess up the words or don't form a very clear image with your words the spell won't form and you will just end up wasting your mana. After spending awhile learning the basics of tier 1 spells we were finally called to stop for lunch. The teacher escorted us to the lunch room as we all sat together and ate. The food was full of mana and helped us recover our fatigue from using mana for the past few hours. We all finished before he walked us back to the classroom and began the next lesson.
