A Visitor In The Night

We all sat down to play a board game after lunch and although the rules were confusing we ended up playing till around dinner time. The game was kind of like Catan but with way more rules and objectives. Sitting down for dinner we all kept up the happy and cheerful emotions and my parents sent us off to get ready for bed while they read books downstairs in the living room.

Since Aeden didn't have a room yet he was sharing mine with me. I told him to shower first and as I sat and waited I decided to practice summoning my mana. I have gotten a little faster at it but I seem to have hit a small wall. I lost track of time and before I knew it Aeden came out in bed clothes drying his hair off. His hair looked really beautiful like a river of fire and before I knew it I was blushing.

<You can go shower now. I am done> He said without paying attention to me.

Alright thanks Aeden. I replied while rushing off to hide my blush. Hopping in the shower I let the water wash away all of my thoughts. After about 10 minutes I got out and got ready for bed. 

I noticed a small sleeping bag on the ground for Aeden and he was laying in it. 

Hey Aeden you can join me in bed you know. You don't need to sleep on the floor.

<Are you sure? I wouldn't want to be uncomfortable>

Of course I am sure. There is plenty of room in this bed and it is probably way more comfortable than the floor.

<Very well then I will join you>

Aeden climbed into bed and took the left side while I took the right. We shut off the lights and started to drift off to sleep.

Midnight...

Downstairs there was a rattling on the front door. All of the lights were off and both Raziel and Usiel were in the basement focused on crafting a massive and very complex magic circle. There was a very dense mana flowing in the air and both of them had runes flowing out of their body and imprinting themselves all around the space between the two of them. The speed at which they created runes was so fast it was hard to count.

Suddenly the room turned completely red as an alarm like sound began to play. 

Hmm what could be going on? Raziel said with a confused look stopping his rune making and preparing to leave the basement.

Calm down dear we can just check the magic camera Usiel said while walking over to the wall. 

She pressed a panel of the wall in and a keyboard with a monitor came out. Typing at a lightning speed she pulled up the camera feed for the house. 

Hmm it seems like someone is trying to break in Usiel said looking not concerned at all. 

Are they human or something else asked Raziel.

They seem to be human on the magic sensors but let us go and find out Usiel answered while walking upstairs being quickly followed Raziel. 

They waited by the front door for the intruder to get in. When he walked in the door slammed behind him and the light turned on. Startled he tried to escape but the door was sealed shut with a spell.

You won't be getting away that easily so why don't we sit down and have a nice long chat about why you are here Raziel said grabbing the man and quickly restraining him.

You won't make me talk! Torture me all you want you won't get any information! The man started yelling.

Usiel walked forward grabbing his face and slammed it into the wall. No shouting mister. I have two kids sleeping upstairs and if you wake them up I will kill you in a most painful way. She said whispering into the mans ear.

He began shaking with fear as Raziel bound him up with magic chains. 

They tried to get information out of him for around an hour before they stopped. The man seemed pretty resilient to torture. Just as they were discussing how to get information out of him the man began yelling.

You two are idiots! You should have killed me while you had the chance! Now you will suffer! 

Biting his tongue he spat it in front of him as a dark red magic circle formed and began summoning something. He began to laugh hysterically while saying they will suffer.

Usiel and Raziel just stood by the side looking bored at his attempts.

It looks like a summoning circle Usiel said. 

Well whatever he is gonna summon is going to be weak Raziel said in a mocking tone.

The magic circle finished its summoning as a demon emerged. The demon was 7ft tall and has muscles like a professional body builder. His voice was a booming laugh as the demon spoke.

I am Zoggaan a demon of wrath! Who summoned me and for what purpose!

The man began yelling. I summoned you to kill those two for daring to harm me!

You summoned me to deal with two minor pests! I should kill you for making me deal with such weak creatures! Sadly I am bound by the summoning contract so I will do as you ask.

Are you two done over there asked Usiel? You interrupted my work for this little play of yours and I would really like to get back to it.

The demon and cultist grew angry. As the demon yelled.

You dare insult me you worm! I will end you!

Usiel looked at Raziel and asked a question. Do you wanna take care of this lowly demon or should I?

You can do it dear. I know how much it makes you angry when someone insults you Raziel said with a smile.

Great! Usiel said while walking forward.

The demon lunged towards her and tried to punch her but before he could touch her golden magic circles appeared all around him as chains made of light bound the demon into place.

How can you use such high level holy magic?! The demon yelled in fear.

Usiel just smirked as she snapped her fingers.

Suddenly the demon turned into ash and completely disappeared.

Now are you going to talk? She asked the man while he seemed even more shocked and terrified.

Yes I will talk I swear the man said with an audible fear in his voice.

He began speaking about how he is a part of a cult who is trying to summon the demon king into this world to destroy it. He broke into their house to kidnap them and use them as a sacrifice.

After he finished speaking Raziel and Usiel just looked exhausted. Raziel cast a darkness spell on the man that completely erased his entire being. Right after both Mihael and Aeden came downstairs.

Mom? Dad? What is going on and what was all of that noise? Mihael said with a sleepy look on his face.

<I sensed a killing intent and lot of magic being concentrated. I also heard someone rattling the window upstairs but enchantment on it held strong>

It was nothing my loves Usiel replied with a loving smile. We just had some uninvited guests and had to get rid of them. Go head back to bed and we will finish cleaning up.

Alright mom I will trust you. Goodnight mom. Goodnight Dad.

<I will leave everything to you. Goodnight mother and father>

Goodnight you two. Raziel and Usiel said while giving each of them a hug and a kiss.

Mihael grabbed Aeden's hand as they went to head back to bed.
