Chapter 46: Mission Achinved

A powerful bolt of lightning charged toward the enemy, there wasn't only a single bolt. There were dozens of bolts of lightning flying towards the enemy.

The leader looked behind him for a split second and saw there were two magic circles around Eilo which were shooting bolts of lightning towards the enemy.

"Good job!" The leader shouted as a compliment.

The leader looked in front of him and saw the enemy was dodging as many attacks as he could. He tried to slash the lighting but the moment his sword made contact with the bolt of lightning.

A powerful shock passed through the sword which caused him to receive a shock.

The leader knew that the enemy would be stunned for a second or two due to the shock. He quickly charged towards the enemy, he had no intention of missing the opportunity to kill him.

The bandit had moved his sword away but he wasn't moving signaling that he had become stunned.

The leader charged towards him faster than the bolt of lightning, so no bolts of lighting had hit him yet.

The leader was just a few cm away from the enemy. He was preparing to stab his heart. Just as he was about to stab his heart, the leader saw 4 thick chains that were made of mana charging towards him.

The chains wrapped around his sword in an instant, the moment the chains wrapped around his sword. They started to glow brightly and the leader felt his sword becoming weaker.

"Damn it, this chain is absorbing my mana. But whose chains are these?" The leader thought to himself as he looked for the sources of this chain.

When he looked in the direction from where the thick mana chains came, he saw 5 magic circles around the sealer mage belonging to the group of bandits.

Three to four chains were extended out from each of the magic circles which seemed.

The chains extending from three of the magic circles were stalling the other guards from getting closer to the bandit who was searching for something while the chains from the other two magic circles were protecting the bandit who he was fighting with.

The leader turned his attention to the chains wrapped around his sword. His mind started to race with how to break these chains since mana was being rapidly absorbed from the sword.

6 chains were busy blocking the bolts of lighting which were flying towards the bandit.

"If you are wondering the name of this spell then it's called sealing chains" The bandit exclaimed.

The leader just ignored and focused on dealing with chains

"I need to quickly think of a way to destroy these chains or else my mana will be completely drained," The leader thought to himself.

He looked around him and saw that there was a single dagger placed on a table.

"Hey Eilo, hand me that dagger!!." The leader exclaimed as he pointed towards a sword, his voice carrying urgency.

Eilo nodded and walked towards the sword while barely maintaining the Magic circle. It requires the utmost focus to maintain a Magic circle.

When Eilo was close enough, he broke through the glass and threw the dagger to the leader.

The leader caught the dagger and channeled mana throughout the dagger. A thick layer of aura engulfed the dagger from top to bottom.

He swung the dagger with all his strength to break the chains. The moment the dagger collided with the chains, then the dagger passed through them like a knife passing through butter.

The leader created distance between himself and the bandit, the moment the chains were broken.

The moment the chain was broken. The chain wrapped around his sword dissipated into countless small fragments.

Another chain followed him as he retreated, however, since he was on his guard. The chain didn't pose much of a threat to him. He quickly broke the chains when it was within his reach.

However, the broken part of the chain was rapidly regenerating.

"Hey Eilo stop your assault, none of your attacks will hit him as long as the chains guard him so it's just a waste of mana" The leader commanded Eilo to stop when he saw these chains blocking all of his attacks.

Eilo didn't say much, he just canceled out the magic. The Magic Circle dissipated into countless small fragments when this happened.

The moment the rain of bolts of lighting ended, the sealing chains stood still almost like waiting for something.

However, the bandit who was protected by the chains didn't waste any time and charged towards the leader. The Leader also charged towards him.

"Absorb the mana of the enemy" The sealer mage commanded his chains.

The moment the chains received this command, they charged towards the leader and Eilo.

"Eilo be careful from the chains" The leader instructed Eilo as he blocked the attacks of the chains.

Eilo nodded his head. The leader and the bandit kept exchanging blows for the next few minutes. Eilo supported him from the back with various spells.

As they were fighting with each other, a powerful voice resounded through the entire place.

"Caption, I have found what we are looking for" The voice of the bandit resounded through everyone's ears.

A small table that had a glass was rising from the ground. When the table was completely visible.

The leader turned his attention to the chair, his eyes widened in surprise when he saw a small piece of rectangular box sealed inside a glass.

"What's that piece of rectangular item even for?" The leader thought to himself.

As a guard who was hired to only guard the place, he didn't know about all the items present in the vault nor their function. However, he did know that he couldn't let them escape with even a single gold coin.

Upon seeing this, the bandits smiled.

"We have found what we are looking for. Take the item and let's escape." The bandit who was fighting the leader exclaimed.

The bandits didn't say much, a bandit broke the glass that was surrounding the item, and a bandit took the rectangular item. The moment they got their hands on the item, they were preparing to leave.

Seeing this, the leader hurriedly gave new commands to his comrades.

"You two retreat and guard the gate, they will have to go past the gate to escape," The leader said to the others as he fought

The two guards who were fending off the chains nodded their heads. They quickly got rid of the bandit and retreated to the gate to guard the place.

Surprisingly none of the Bandits followed which was very strange. A powerful voice resounded through the entire place just a few seconds after the guards retreated to guard the gates.

"Use that item right now!" The bandit who was fighting with the leader shouted.

The moment he said that, the bandit who was fighting with two guards just a few seconds ago charged towards a wall. The bandit took out a small ball that was pure black in color.

The guards could sense a dense amount of mana coming out from that ball. They knew that they had screwed up when they sensed the dense mana coming from the ball.

A few seconds later, the bandit threw the ball towards the wall. The moment the ball made contact with the wall it started to glow brightly.

"Fuck" The leader cursed as if he already knew what was going to happen.
