Prologue - The Future

EXT. DESTROYED S. AMIKA MIDDLE SCHOOL - TIME UNKNOWN

The sky is grey, polluted with smoke and ash. In the middle of the battlefield, two figures.

Kneeling, a beaten and tired boy with half a black shirt and scars all over his body, MARCO (15).

In front of him, standing tall, a dark figure wearing a hood. His face shrouded in darkness, the only visible feature are his beaming orange eyes.

An eerie wind blows.

MARCO (panting): I guess... we've really lost this time.

Marco looks up at the Orange Eyed Man with a rough smile on his face. The man looks off into the distance.

ORANGE EYED MAN: Yes, it appears you have.

Marco looks back down. Demotivated. Defeated.

ORANGE EYED MAN: But don't fret. You and your friends will most certainly find peace. Just not in this life. I will not allow you to interfere with the guidance I will provide this world. You will not hinder salvation.

The man lifts his hand, a bright white aura around it.

BAM!

A fist connects with the man's face. The punch appears to be full force, sending shockwaves all throughout the field. It barely manages to scratch the man's face. He looks to his left. A girl with long brown hair in a tattered yellow coat. He grabs her arm and hurls her away.

He turns around to see several kids similar in age running at him.

First, a Japanese boy with a scythe. He swings at the Orange Eyed Man. He side-steps, grabs the boy by the neck and slams him into ground, creating a huge crater.

Second, a Japanese girl with thorn-like barbs in her hair. Her hair extends, seemingly shooting at The Orange Eyed Man. He avoids it, grabs a lock of hair, spins the girl in the air, and hurls her away.

Third, a short-haired blonde boy with blue eyes. He shoots what looks like a playing card from a gadget on his wrist. Using his hand, the Orange Eyed Man slices it in half. He simply swats the boy away, like swatting a fly.

Finally, a boy with long black hair and fire surrounding his fists. He throws a punch but the Orange Eyed Man steps back, grabs his head, and knees him directly in the face. He flies away due to the sheer force of the knee.

He turns back around to find Marco with a sword in the shape of a lightning bolt.

Marco swings the sword.

CRASH!

The man blocks the sword attack with just his forearm, but somehow shatters the sword into little pieces.

Marco drops to his knees as his lest effort to get a hit in fails.

ORANGE EYED MAN: A feeble attempt.

In his hand, a bright white ball begins to rotate into shape.

ORANGE EYED MAN: But a courageous one. I commend you all, children! You've put up quite the battle!

He releases the bright white ball. It slowly falls towards the ground.

ORANGE EYED MAN: But this is over.

It reaches the ground. The ball erupts into a blinding white light.
