Chapter 10: I'm Rich!

"It's all done. We should return to the kingdom and get our reward as soon as possible."

Checking my spatial ring, I counted the amount of the Monster Cores I have collected.

"Around 5 million?! I am rich baby!"

My voice startled Masa, Kohaku, and Aki, I showed them a peace sign. With this amount, we can buy most necessities in this world. Sure I can craft them by my self but within 118 years of life, I want to explore this world fairly and freely if possible.

"I wonder if the price of this thing is high."

I took one monster core and scanned it. It is glowing more than the goblin cores while I can feel a big amount of magic power emitting from inside.

With that all done, we went back to the city. It seems like my flashy performance at the Dead Woodland didn't reach here.

We arrive at the Luduris Kingdom smoothly but the gazes and gossips are still there. Not to lie but it feels good when you are the center of attention.

Immediately, we proceed to the adventurers guild but...

"Where are the adventurers?"

The guild is empty, not a single soul except for Elissa at the desk smiling at me.

"Hey there, Alex, or should I say, our Savior." She smiled beautifully with her chin rested on her palm.

"If you mean about cleaning the Dead Woodland from Demons then I proudly admit I accomplish it with ease." I smiled charmingly that made Elissa lose her composure. Her face flushed while her eyes are like she is in trance.

"Ahem." She did a fake cough."Sorry about spying on you, I hope you will forgive me." She lowered her head. I'm already sitting on a chair in front of the receptionist's desk.

"Nah it's fine, I intend to become famous anyway. I shrugged.

"So you did notice huh..." She muttered unintentionally.

"Aside from that... Why is the guild empty?"

"Because we will discuss something... Privately."

I have a guess already but let's hear it.

"Well. The King wanted to invite you to the castle and personally reward you."

"I see..."

"Eh, you're not even surprised or nervous that a king will personally reward you?"

"I'm not used to this kind of events as I have been living alone but this doesn't astound me though."

'I smiled. A King is nothing for me. I have faced countless monsters you don't ever want to see, Elissa.' I thought internally.

"Okay... How about tomorrow? are you available?"

"I have nothing to do tomorrow so it's fine for me."

"Then, that will be it!" She clapped her hands and smiled excitedly.

"By the way Elissa, I have monster cores to sell, can you help me?"

"Sure! Follow me in the exchange room."

"Well. I didn't expect to have 500,000 platinum coins..."

I left the stunned Elissa at the guild. The process took almost two hours because she has to run at the bank and get enough platinum coins.

Each platinum coin amounts to 1000 Gold. So I can confidently admit to say I'm one of the wealthiest individual second to the King.

We returned to the Inn. I greeted Lisbeth.

"Hi, Alex! How's your first day of work?"

Lisbeth waves her hand at me. I want to see her reaction if I show my fame points right now.

"Hey Lisbeth, I want to show you something."

I took my Guild card with a smile and showed it in front of her.

The moment her eyes landed on the Guild card, she showed a very shock and funny expression, she still looks cute though!

"How he-!"

I placed a finger on my lips to hush her. She immediately regains her composure. That's a professional for you!

"I want to accomplish and gather more fame points though."

"It's honestly surprising Alex... What mission did you even complete to have several fame points this much in a single day..." She spoke with her voice sounded astonished.

"All I can say is I'm a capable man." I lift my chest proudly. "If you'll excuse me, Lisbeth, I'll take a rest for now." Excusing myself, I gestured at my partners to follow me.

When Alex was not in sight anymore, Richard walked to where Lisbeth is and spoke.

"I saw your interactions with him a few minutes ago. So? What did he do this time to make you feel shocked?" Richard teasingly said with a smile.

"Nothing uncle... And it's also none of your business." She smiled back.

"I know his handsome than most nobles you see. I honestly admit he's more handsome than me." Richard Shamelessly declared. Making Lisbeth chuckle.

"However, don't get caught by his appearance alone. You know that I don't praise men, only women. But that man is capable and if something happens to both of you, I will personally tell your parents." Richard continued.

"Look, uncle. I will tell you honestly. I got attracted by his appearance at first sight but I'm not the type of girl to open my legs to any handsome men out there. Nothing will happen between us. A man like Alex doesn't deserve a commoner like me." Lisbeth shook her head.

Shaking his head as well, Richard then spoke with a serious tone. "That's where you are wrong Lisbeth. If Alex was also that kind of man in what your little head thinks you could already have seen women accompanying him right now. I'm not forcing you to him, but my advice is It's better to look ahead and prepare than to look back and regret." Richard patted Lisbeth on the shoulders and walked away. Leaving a dumbfounded Lisbeth on her chair while staring at his retreating figure.
