After the bleak and dismal emptiness of the wasteland, they reached a vast, beautiful swaths of countryside in the midmorning. Stretching before them was a measure of lush meadow with sheeps grazing on tufts of grass over the field. Up above, the blue sky was half fleeced with a wisp of white clouds. Ashton reduced the speed gradually and rode at a leisurely pace now, taking it slow to enjoy the scenic route.
"It's a real prairie."
Ava muttered, awed by the vastness of the grassland.
"And there are sheep, I've never seen any of it before."
Amused by her fascination, he hold the horse back from moving too fast.
"This village is known for its fine wool. It supplies cloth over the whole district."
"Can we walk instead of ride?"
Turning her head back to see him, she asked hopefully.
"We don't see such an exciting sight like this everyday, do we?"
