DIORE - Part 1

THE KING, THE WARRIOR AND THE HEALER

Prolouge

Diore is a kingdom of the chosen. There are three classes of people in Diore. The Allenthies, Ravenites and the Therondians. The Allenthies are the rulers. In their lineage comes the Kings and leaders who will lead the kingdom. Ravenites are the nobles. They are the people who come from another kingdom but had given up their own Kingdom for Diorre in exchange of finding the Source. Yes, everything in Diorre is because of Source. The Source is the reason why Diorre exists. The Therondians are the ordinary people. They are those without powers, the weak class. But they are the reason why Allenthies power exists. Source had given the Allenthies the power to lead the kingdom because of the Therondians. It is the Allenthies duty to take care of the Therondians and exploiting them is a major sin as written in the Sacred code.

CHAPTER 1 - Mix of Chaos

" No we can't live in here anymore, not for our daughters. Let's return to our Kingdom. You see the King's plan is suicidal" Amirah says in despair to her husband. " Ok, I will talk to Aede, Harren answered.

At this time Diore is in great chaos. Aede, the present King ordered to stop the celebration of the Feast of Fire, which the council did not agree. The feast is important to all especially to Therondians. It is the day where they will gain strength from the fire that come from Source. Therondians need the fire to sustain their life every year. The suspension of the Feast is like killing them. But Aede wants to introduce a new way of sustaining the Therondians. A stone tablet can sustain them not only in a year but throughout their lives. But the traditionalist group cannot understand it nor accepts it. It is a major change in the Kingdom and a violation of the sacred code.

No King has the right to change anything that is written in the code. It is only the Source who can change it since it's him who made it as his covenant to Cassidy.

Aede's decision results in war. Allenthies versus the Council, wherein the Council are Ravenites. The noble group. Amirah and Harren are both Ravenites. And they don't want to be caught in the middle of this chaos in Diorre.

" We need to go back to our Kingdom for the sake of our daughters" Forget for a while these marks that we have." Amirah speaks seriously. But it doesn't mean we are abandoning Diore. We will come back here when its time, she talks to her husband.

"Ok, raising our daughters away from war is our priority for now." Harren agree.

The Capitol

Outside the Capitol lie dead bodies. The surroundings look horrible, gloomy and silent. Harren and Amirah carried their daughters quietly, sneaking inside only to be shocked by what they saw. There were dead Ravenites on the hallway towards the chamber throne. Harren recognize them, those were some members of the Council. Some people inside the Capitol had fled. They run hurriedly, panicking of what happened inside. Amirah and Harren was searching for Aede. They proceed to the chamber and were surprised by what they saw.

Eslon and Aede are were fighting to death. Both were bloody.

" You cannot just do that to the people of Diore, you just have the eye of an oracle and the mark of sword! But remember you are not Source!" Eslon shouted in rage.

" Why cant you understand that I'm giving you life! answered Aede.

" No! You are deceiving, you're taking away people's freedom" shouted Eslon. " Have you forgotten that the feast of fire is not only about sustaining the Therondian's life? It is also the time where they can come near to Source, but your decision hinders them" continued Eslon.

" why did you make such decision huh?! perhaps you saw that your downfall will come on the feast of fire? Eslon mockingly asked Aede with that smirk on his face. He continued sarcastically, " I know what you are hiding in secret." Hearing that Aede lost his sanity in fear. He groan angrily and stabbed Eslon with the sword that came from Source.

Aede was an Allenthies. He is the King of Diore. And as a king, he has the privilege to possess a special sword that came from Source. That ancient sword, which Source had given as a gift to their clan. The first Allenthies to possess the sword was Cassidy. The very first Queen from their clan, his grandmother.

The ancient sword of an Allenthie King is very deadly. It can cut everything into pieces. It has a very special ability. It can heal wounds that are caused by other swords. The sword knows its master. It knows its leader. It cannot just be possessed by anyone except by a true leader whom the sword itself will acknowledge.

" Aede! Harren shouted. Amirah covered the eyes of their daughters. She hugged them preventing them to see the bloodshed.

Aede was shocked. He could not believe what he did. How can he killed someone? He's the King.

" Aede, listen to me .." Harren said in a soft voice. Aede has not notice Harren was already there in front of him, he was freezing shock.

" Aede... this is not who you are. This is not the King I've known. Your love for her has brought you to this" said Harren.

"This is not right anymore".

Remorse was visible on Aede's face. Tears fall down from his eyes.

" We're leaving but it's only for while" Goodbye for now. Harren told Aede. But there was no answer.

The Dark Age

People in Diore try to live like the way they used to before. Some ancient traditions are no longer practiced in Diore. A lot has changed. There are new rules. The Capitol said it's like that because they are now living in a new era. But people feel like something is missing. They feel like they are in bondage of something they could not figure out. There was a new set of Council But the King is still from the Allenthies. No. It's not Aede anymore but his son -- Thyro.

Thyro is a lot different from his father. He is ruthless and is very confident of the mark he has. Thyro has the mark of sword. A sign of authority. Having the mark of the sword means being certain that he is the rightful heir of the ancient sword. But he has only one mark. That's all he has. Unlike his father, Aede has two marks-- the sword and the eye of an oracle. Having the mark of oracle means greater wisdom and ability to see future events. Those two marks of Aede was the reason why he was the most known and respected King in Diore.

And Thyro is upset about that, He likes to have marks more than his father had. He cannot accept having only one mark. But Thyro thinks it is impossible to gain another mark because the mark is inborn. It is a gift from Source. No power in Diore can create a mark in a person. It is Source who decides who to give the mark, usually before the birth of a person. Those who have marks are chosen. Traditionally, the mark could be seen in the chosen's right wrist. The mark signifies power.

Destiny and Responsibility

" My King the Council are waiting," says Lira to Thyro.

" Let them wait," Thyro answered irritably. Somehow he doesn't like to go to the chamber throne for a meeting. He wants the meeting to be in his home, at the Royal house. Traveling to Capitol is a disturbance to him. But until now, even with the new members of the Council still, he could not control the people, especially the Ravenites. Therondians are always easy to control, but the Ravenites are not. They are brave and intelligent. Diore had changed so far, but in some way, it still living in the shadow of its past tradition. Aside from that, his cares, for now, is not on the kingdom, but on his own family. Ever since Aede was gone, Allenthies is living in controversy.

Yah, Thyro knows his clan was chosen, but no one in Allenties had lead Diore as same as Cassidy his great grandmother. Next to Source, everyone in Diore looked up to Cassidy. Even until now, in their heart, Cassidy was their one true Queen. This is what makes Thyro cynical about his inheritance of the throne. He only has one mark. He was appointed after his father committed the greatest violation in the Sacred Code. He could not live up to what his father and his great grandmother has contributed to Diore. Thyro is thinking, there is nothing special about his succession to the throne. The Source only wants to continue his covenant to their clan. It is nothing special, compare to Cassidy's enthronement.

Her grandmom Cassidy was different. She was the reason why Allenthies gained the mark of the sword. Why the ancient sword was given to their clan. He can never, not even his father, can surpass what Cassidy did to Diore. Cassidy was a legend. Deep in his heart, Thyro likes to become glorious as Cassidy. But people say, he is so far, even far from his father. This Kingship now is bringing him much frustration.

" Ok let us begin, the King is already here", said Riley the head council.

" What is this meeting for?" Thyro asks the Council.

" My King so many people in Diore are sick with a sickness we could not fathom, not even heal" answered one of the Council.

" And no one can tell why is this happening? Since your Father was gone we lost the eyes to see and understand", said another council.

" Why do you still need the eyes of an oracle?, You still cant understand? You are the Council, you have the mark of knowledge? Why still need the eyes huh? Thyro answers irritably.

" Yes, we have the mark but the power of the eye is different, its way better than our mark" one council answered.

Another council interrupted, " the problem now is this great sickness in our people, what are we going to do then?"

" Bring them to the dungeon, let them stay there until the disease will pass, keep them away from Capitol, from the Royal house" Thyro answered firmly.

" But my King"...

" No buts"! Thyro cuts the conversation. " I am the King and that is my decision", he said.

" We cannot just decide mercilessly"! Riley raises his voice. " You have to remember Allenthies has been chosen because you vowed for righteousness" Riley continued.

" But isn't it righteous to think of my family first?" Keep that contagious disease far from this Kingdom."

"This talks is over. " Thyro ended the discussion and leave.

The Council was left fed up.

Ever since Thyro ruled Diore there had been a lot of changes. He said, he's taking Diore to a new era but people values the sacred traditions. Some practices are no longer observed. The Council insist there had been so much violation of the codes these days. But for Thyro it is a new way of leading Diore. And now imprisoning the sick in the dungeon is the most merciless decision Diore had been.
