Forty Nine : Confession of Crimes

I was surprised to hear the sound of objects falling outside my office, I don't know where the sound came from. My body still felt weak from seeing the CCTV footage that was just sent by the police. It felt like I wanted to scream and think it was just a coincidence.

I straightened myself up and walked slowly towards the door, my curiosity was bigger now than my fear. However, before I reached the door, a very familiar woman appeared in the doorway, wearing a black hoodie that covered her head.

"You! No way !!", I said in surprise, widened my eyes and mouth agape

"Hi oenni ... are you back?", She asked with a grin

There weren't a friendly gazes and smiles I used to get from her. Her eyes were full of hatred and her smile was so scary, I felt goosebumps all over my body.

"Aeri ssi, this is not true, right? You didn't do all off this, right ??", I asked as I took a few steps backward

"You are so stupid, oenni. You did not realize it?", she asked with a mocking smile

"Wae? Why are you doing all this? I don't understand ...", I said looking at her confusedly

"Wae? You really want to know, oenni?", Aeri asked as she walked slowly toward me

I swallowed hard. My heart is beating very fast. I held the cellphone tightly in my right hand until it hurt so much.

"You want to know? I did it because I really hated you", she whispered softly as she leaned towards me

"What?", I asked, unsure of what I just heard

"I-really-hate-you!", She repeated, emphasizing every word that came out of her mouth

I can't say anything, myself filled with confusion and various questions.

"Did I do something wrong to you, Aeri~aah? I'm sorry if I hurt you", I said regretfully

A message came to my cell. I glanced at the cell phone in my hand, was about to read it. But before I could do that, Aeri grabbed the cellphone from my hand and threw it behind my desk. I was shocked by her sudden and aggressive behavior.

"We're talking, it's rude if you look at your cellphone in the middle of our conversation", she said with a sharp gaze as she walked slowly toward me.

"Mian .." I replied nervously

I could feel that she wasn't joking right now. I took a few steps back until I felt my waist touch my desk.

"I'm sick of seeing you oenni. Why is everything always going well around you? You are young, beautiful, highly educated, a businesswoman, come from a good and respected family, have a famous boyfriend .... yes! I already know about your relationship with RM! ", she said irritably

I widened my eyes at her at that.

"But Aeri~aah, you're also an extraordinary woman, you're a fun co-worker, everyone likes you ..", I replied

"You think so ?? Hah! You don't know, every time I talk to customers I meet, they always talk about you, always praise you! No one cares about me !!", she shouted angrily

"There must be a misunderstanding Aeri~aah, we can have a good talk", I said moving forward trying to calm her down

There was a ringing sound from the corner, it must be Namjoon calling, I thought.

"You think I'm not trying to understand it? I've worked here for two years and every time there is a new customer they always ask you, always you !!", she said, pointing at me

"Aeri~aah, please ... I'm sorry. I understand, I should pay more attention to you. You are like sister to me. I'm sorry, we can talk about this ...", I said in a trembling voice

The ringing of the telephone was repeated behind us.

"No! Do you know what kind of life I've been through? I have to work when I graduate from school and support my younger siblings because my old father doesn't care about them. He is busy gambling and owes money everywhere, while I have to work on my days off to pay off those debts! And he neglects us, we try to live by ourselves! You don't understand what I've been through at all, you were born perfect, everything around you is perfect! I hate you !! Aaarrgghhh! ! ", she shouted and tried to attack me

"Aeri~aah! Stop! Kyaaa! No! Please stop!", I shouted trying to protect myself from her punches and kicks

I collapsed between my desk and bookshelves. She kept hitting and kicking at me like a crazy person.

"Kyaa!", I shouted when one of her kicks hit my stomach

"Stop! Please stop!", I begged her as I clutched my stomach which was very painful

She snorted and gasped as she stopped the punch. I bit my lip in pain, my body was aching.

"Calm down, Aeri~aah ... I understand, you must feel that life is not fair to you, I've felt that way. Everything that happens to my life is not always easy and perfect ... everyone has their own problems Aeri~aah, nothing is perfect in this world", I said shuffled sitting leaning against the bookshelf

"I don't want to hear your babbling, oenni. I should have killed you a long time ago, but I was still a coward at that time, I was afraid my actions would soon be discovered by the police. But now, I don't care. I will kill you because you have taken someone who really precious to me! ", she dragged me to my feet and pushed me to the bookshelf

My head and body ached so badly, I was trying my best to stay conscious. I don't want to give up on her.

"Aeri~aah stop ...", I gasped

I tried to keep breathing as Aeri wrapped her hands around my neck. My hands are reaching for her face and her hands, trying to make her release the choke on my neck.

The door slams open, and I see Namjoon standing in the doorway with a shocked face.

"Jagiya!", He called

Aeri turned her face to the door and released her grip from my neck. I fell to the floor, coughing in an attempt to get some oxygen.

"YOU !!", he shouted walking into my office

"Don't come closer or I'll kill her right now!", Aeri said while taking out a semi-automatic gun that she hid in her hoodie pocket and pointed it at me

"Aeri ssi? What are you doing ?!", Said Namjoon, standing silently at the entrance

"Are you surprised? You didn't think that I could do this?", Aeri asked chuckled

"I don't understand ... why ??", asked Namjoon frowning

"I hate her, I hate your girlfriend ! You think I'm stupid to not realize your relationship ?!", Aeri shouted at Namjoon who was shocked by her words

"Are you doing this just because of that?", Asked Namjoon in shock

"No, not really! I didn't like her for a long time, but after finding out that you guys were dating, my hatred became even more unbearable!", Aeri said with a disgusted face

"How do you know?", Asked Namjoon again

I sat leaning against the bookshelf and held my stomach which hurt so bad. I felt that Namjoon was deliberately talking to her to buy some time. I searched with my eyes where my cell phone was.

"My life wasn't easy, oppa! You and bangtan boys are the reason I survived ... I like you for a long time. You are my bias, I can easily recognize you even if you cover your face with a hat, glasses, even a mask", she said

"Do you recognize me?", Said Namjoon, glancing at me

"Ye .. when I found out you came to Minerva, I was very excited. But you came here several times just to meet Sora oenni. I immediately recognized you when you came on a music night, and I saw you, Sora oenni and Sunmi oenni talking even laughing together. Do you know how I feel? I really want to hurt her and replace her to chat with you ", said Aeri smiling wildly

I saw my cell phone lying far away in the corner behind my desk. If I go there, will Aeri realize it ?, I thought. No, this is too risky, I told myself. I grimaced in pain in my stomach. I hope my baby doesn't get hurt. I closed my eyes trying to catch my breath.

"Why didn't you join us at that time?", Namjoon asked again as he shifted himself closer to the bookshelf

"Stay at your place, oppa ! I'm not messing around right now!", Said Aeri pointed her gun to him

"Alright ...", said Namjoon raised his hands and took a few steps back

"You're asking why I didn't join you? Hah! Seriously, I just wanted to chat with you, oppa, not with those two women!", Aeri continued with an annoyed face

Nanjoon and I glanced at each other, and I saw that he looked worried at my current state.

"But there are interesting things that I heard from your conversation, oppa. Sunmi oenni told about the incidents that Sora Oenni's ex-lover did to her, and it immediately gave me an idea. At first I would only terrorize her, but after I saw what was happening in Sora oenni's office, I immediately canceled my intention and was determined to finish her off!", Aeri said looking at me angrily and pointing her gun back to me

I thought she was talking about our first kiss in my office. I closed my eyes and gripped my stomach while muttering softly to myself, "hold on, please hold on, you're strong, everything will be fine", over and over.

"You heard our conversation?", Asked Namjoon again

"Ye. I do feel that there is something strange about Minwoo oppa, he always talks about Sora oenni every time he comes here. He looks very obsessed with her. You are very lucky, oenni", Aeri said to me

"Lucky? Having someone obsessed with you is a luck??", asked Namjoon a little annoyed

"Ye! At least there is someone in this world who loves you so much that he is willing to do anything to get you ! After all, Park Minwoo oppa is very handsome and rich ... what else do you need ??!", She said with a laugh

"You're sick, Song Aeri ssi", said Namjoon looking at her with pity

"Jinjja? I don't think it's a problem, I'm obsessed with you too ," she said, still laughing and shrugging her shoulders

"You really need help, Aeri ssi", said Namjoon shaking his head

"Whatever !! To be honest, I did all this so that Sora oenni would feel scared and finally leave you. But apparently she didn't flinch at all ! Aarrgh it was so annoying! So I finally decided to go further. I poisoned the cake she ate, hoping she would be hospitalized or worse, but apparently the effect was not what I expected. Then I attacked her hoping she would be seriously injured but again, my calculations were wrong ", said Aeri with an annoyed face

"What?", I said weakly unable to believe what I just heard

"Jagi, Sora~aah, hold on ...", said Namjoon with a worried face

"Whoaahh how romantic this couple is ... hahahaha. You know oppa, you can get a woman who is much prettier than her. But why did you choose her ?? Why Sora oenni? !!", screamed Aeri

"Ye, you are absolutely right. I feel sorry for Minwoo oppa for being under constant suspicion of the police", she said with an amused laugh

I saw Namjoon slowly shift his body forward towards Aeri who was busy laughing, not realizing Namjoon's movements.

"And the funny thing is no one suspects me. I broke Oenni's car tires when I got home early. And I immediately stopped it when Oenni installed CCTV in the parking lot. Then I gave Oenni's cellphone number to a sasaeng community I met on social media. Hahahahaha they really make Oenni annoyed with their messages .... ", she said, still laughing out loud

"Did you send dead rabbits and other things too?", Namjoon asked again after moving two steps from his original place

"Ye! I watch a lot of detective movies so I know how to avoid police investigations ... Seoul police are not that smart anyway", she chuckled

"Then why are you showing yourself now?", Asked Namjoon again

"I didn't show myself, I didn't think Oenni would come back. I planned to burn Minerva and leave. But accidentally we met here, right oenni?", She said smiling at me

"Why did you go this far, Aeri ssi?", Namjoon asked as he shifted his body closer

"Why? I've said it right, I hate her !! I'm angry you're dating her! And what makes me even more angry is that Oenni is pregnant !!!", shouted Aeri losing her mind

I stared at her words, Namjoon was stunned to hear it too.

"You must be wondering how I can find out, right? I know the characteristics of a pregnant woman because one of my sisters was pregnant by her bastard boyfriends, and when I saw the pile of books that oenni was going to borrow, I immediately realized that she was pregnant. at this time, I didn't expect it, I didn't think you would go this far !!! You ruined my life !!! ", Aeri shouted while pointing a gun at me and preparing to shoot

Everything happened so fast .... before Aeri shot me, Namjoon jumped and lunged at Aeri until they both fell to the floor. They struggled, bullets shot through the ceiling of my office and the gun was flung far under the couch.

"Jagiya~! Go! Go, hurry, ask for help!", Namjoon shouted to me

I stood with all my might, ignored the pain all over my body and shuffled towards the exit.

"No !! Come back !! I'll kill you !! Come back !!", shouted Aeri

I turned my face briefly looked at the two of them who were still wrestling on the floor. Namjoon held Aeri's waist, holding her from running after me. Meanwhile, Aeri with a red face, struggling like a crazy person trying to get away from Namjoon.

I sobbed while running towards the parking lot with all my might. It hurts so much, my stomach hurts so much. I turned my gaze to my legs and I saw blood running down my legs. No! Not my baby! Please .... I held back my tears trying to get rid of the bad thoughts from my head.

* thump

"Aah!"

There was a loud sound and a scream of pain from Namjoon from within Minerva.

"Jagiya?", I muttered turning towards the entrance to the ground floor

Then I saw Aeri running towards me with an angry face. I returned to running as fast as I could to the highway.

"Help! Help me!", I shouted between my sobs

The night was very quiet, not many cars were passing by, while shops and restaurants around Minerva have also closed early due to restrictions on operating hours due to corona.

"Kyaaaa!", I shouted when I felt someone grabbing my body from behind

"I will kill you! I should have killed you a long time ago, you damn woman! You better die!", Screamed Aeri as she continuously attacked me

"No! Stop, please!", I shouted trying to defend myself as well as attacking back

"Let go of Sora! I said let her go !!", Namjoon's voice was heard in the distance

Aeri and I were busy hitting, kicking, pulling and pushing each other, until finally ....

"Andweeeee !!! (No!)", Shouted Namjoon breaking the silence of the night

I don't know what happened to me and Aeri. I only felt that my body was lifted and then slammed into the hot asphalt.

Then everything fell silent, my ears ringing, my gaze dazzled by the light shining brightly in front of me.

"Sora~aah! Oh God, Jagiya~ ... wake up! Please call an ambulance! Now !!", I heard Namjoon's voice seemed to be in the distance

I blinked a few times trying to get a better look, but I could only see a blinding light in front of me.

"Sora~aah, hold on!", I heard Namjoon sobbing in the distance

Jagiya~, calm down ... I'm fine. I don't feel pain, everything will be fine, I thought.

But wait, no, it's not just pain that I can't feel. I can't even feel my body. I can't move my body ... and my baby ... what about my baby ?.

I felt a tear run down my cheek and I gave in to the darkness slowly covering me.
