Miracle Recovery

[After one and a half months later]

"It's really remarkable. I can't believe he healed so fast. It's really rare to see this kind of condition."

"Is there some kind of problem, doctor?" the nurse asked.

"No, it's really a miracle. I heard genetics can make the healing process faster, but this is..."

'It's good I didn't rush,' Max thought to himself. 'If this much healing speed has this kind of reaction, what would he do if I healed myself in minutes or even seconds? Would he have a heart attack and die?'

"Although you healed completely, just in case, we have to take some tests. If everything is alright, you can be discharged in three days."

Max and his parents' faces were filled with happiness and relief. After three days, he was discharged from the hospital without any problems. The next day, he was getting ready to go to school.

"Are you sure you'll be alright? Why don't you rest a few more days before going to school?"

"Mom, I'm already fully healed. And exams are coming soon. Although I've been studying while staying in the hospital, I have so much to catch up on."

"Alright. If you feel pain somewhere, come home the next second. No... call me, and I'll be there to pick you up. Do you understand?"

"Yes, Mom. I'll do as you say. It's getting late; I have to go. See you later."

"Be safe out there."

As always, Max rushed to the train station.

"Hey, bro!"

Seeing Max, Cedric was surprised and asked, "Don't you want to take some rest?"

"Hey, I'm in perfect condition. No need to worry."

"In two weeks, there are going to be exams. We have to prepare so much."

"Yeah, I'm planning to get first place."

"Yeah… Wait, bro, I know you study hard, but you've been in the hospital all this time. Even though we helped with studies sometimes, isn't that too high of a goal?"

"Want to make a bet?"

"Well, sure. What's the bet?"

"Let's say, if I don't get first place, I'll treat you to a big meal. And if I do get first place, you treat me to a big meal."

"Sure, deal!"

If it were the same Max as before, it would have been very hard to achieve. But he is totally different now. Before, he studied hard, but his rank was always between 15 and 20. 

Now that his journey of cultivation has started, his brain functions have improved from before. As he improves his cultivation, his memory power and concentration will also improve tremendously. With that, he can become first in the world when it comes to knowledge and studying.

But his condition now is not optimal. He has to improve himself.
