CHAPTER 6 - UPGRADES/REWARDS 1

Juluis found himself back in the racing nexus garage. Only to be suspended in the air five feet off the ground. The clown car came crashing with a thud as it hit the ground. The right front fell off from the impact.

"Well there goes the last wheel," Juluis signed to himself.

He climbed out of the destroyed clown car looking at it in frustration. The car was a junk pile.

Sighing Juluis wasted no time pulling up the nexus garage menu. He scrolled through the screen a bit looking for the repair option. He eventually found it.

"Repair to 100% durability. Y/N?" A message said in front of him. He hit Y.

"Repair cost will be 5,000 credits or you can use the free repair from rewards."

Juluis chose the second option for the reward. The clown car glowed brightly as it repaired all the damage and replaced every broken part. He was amazed at how fast the process lasted. 

After selecting the choice he was reminded he should check his other notifications for achievements and rewards. He pulled up the notification menu to see the new rewards and achievements.

Juluis first checked his notifications. He had a look of shock from the amount of credits he had earned. He had gained 10,000 credits for finishing first, another 7,000 for clean racing, and another 5,000 for finishing the race. He also was awarded a 2x credit bonus for clean racing 

 He was a little surprised at getting the 5,000 credit bonus for finishing the race. He wasn't sure how his rear axle counted.

The total credit count came out to 44,000 credits. His total credit count now was 75,000. 

A few other notifications told him he failed the objectives for this race for the xp bonus. He had failed to finish the race without totaling his car. He was disappointed at that.

He only gained 1xp for the win at least.

Juluis next scrolled through the achievements.

Checkers or Wreckers - achievement awarded for winning a race with a damaged car.

Reward - 1xp

Redlining - achievement awarded for redlining for more than a minute

Reward - 1xp

A "part" of winning - achievement awarded for winning a race with a car part crossing the finishline first

Reward - 3xp

The last achievement made Juluis raise his brows.

After accepting the achievements and rewards he was alerted with a new message. The first alerted him of a new vehicle, while the second unlocked an upgrade to the clown car.

Novice rank has reached level 2. New vehicle unlocked. Everytime you level up a new car will unlock.

Clown car has unlocked a new

upgrade. Everytime you level up with a car that has gained you 10 xp points. You will get an upgrade.

Juluis checked out the new vehicle out of curiosity first.

The vehicle was called tge bucket of bolts. The car was a metal bucket on a square platform with wheels. On the roof were pile of bolts and screws sticking out. There was a bucket handle that acted as a spoiler for the car. It faced the rear of the vehicle. It had a windshield that went around the front end of the bucket.

 Description - A car that is perfect for "scrapping" the competition.

Restricted events - races, miscellaneous events 

Strengths - the vehicle has a very heavy weight to inflict more damage on opponents

Weaknesses - vehicle us top heavy and can risk flipping over.

Ability one: a screw loose - the bucket of bolts drops a screw onto the ground. Whenever an opponent runs over it. It will cause the vehicle to lose mobility for ten seconds.

Ability two: Rust Bucket - an attack that homes in on a random opponent. It causes a random part of a vehicle to completely rust away. The attack can only be used once per opponent.

Top Speed: 75 mph

Acceleration: Slow

Durability: Strong

Weight: Very Heavy

Handling: Average

Credits to buy: 20,000

Maintenance Cost - 5000 credits for every derby 3 derbies.

Not bad for a derby vehicle, but its weight might be its undoing if hit wrong or if I turn it to hard. Since it is top heavy.

Juluis decided to look over now at what upgrade he had unlocked on the clown car.

The new upgrade improved the pie cannon. It would turn into an enhanced pie cannon. The only difference was the cannon now would let the pies home in on a target.

Juluis decided for now to just hold off on the purchase as he decided to take a break for a while. He had just completed two races and was getting tired and hungry now.

He did at least look at the next event before setting down. He would be racing through different environments in the air, sea, and land.

Well I'll think of what to do after I am refocused. I hope I can escape this place.

Juluis walked over to the kitchen to make some food. He was quick to eat it before going over to the bedroon for a little nap after.
