The valley of death

Both boys froze as they watched Dark's hazel eyes fixed on them then suddenly he averted it and turned his head sideways while flaring his nostrils.

Gaby observed this closely.

"I don't think he can see us"He told Farhat via telepathy.

"That's right...he can't use sixth sense magic"Farhat added,as his breathing slowed down.

"We can run for it".

"More like teleport for it"Farhat corrected.

Gaby sighed within him and eyed the teleporting device in his hand.

He wasn't sure he had enough magic energy to Teleport them far away let alone stand a fight against the monster in front of them but he had to try.

As Gaby took out the teleporting device he watched his hand come into view.

He blinked severally and his eyes travelled from his feet to the rim of his garment.

Wait...were they..

His eyes finally settled on Farhat who was as startled as he was.

Farhat gulped in thick saliva and completed the word.

Dead...

"My invisibility spell faded...I must be running out of magic energy"Gaby wailed via telepathy and both boys eyes simultaneously met Dark's who seemed delighted on sight of them.

His thick face wore a wide grin as he stared at the demons at the level of his waist.

"Gotcha!"he muttered as he folded his hands."To think the nuisance was just two little children... Tell me...how could you both pull off invisibility and space magic at a low spiritual energy rank..."

Gaby quickly threw his hand behind him to hide the teleporting device as he began muttering a spell while Dark watched patiently his grin even wider now.

Deep within him,he could sense they were already out of magic energy so he made no moved stopping them but instead longed for the look of terror on their faces after the spell was casted and they still found themselves at the same spot.

When Gaby was done chanting and opened his eyes to meet the robe of their enemy,he felt his whole world falling apart.

He knew Dark wouldn't spare them.

No not after what they had seen and heard and what ached his heart the more was that Farhat was here with him and they barely had enough magic energy.

Gaby quickly resorted to telepathy calling for help but couldn't reach through.

His telepathy had been blocked, probably right after Dark saw them.

Just who exactly was this guy?He had no choice... they had to fight and he would protect Farhat at all cost.

"Get on Phye and get out of here!"he yelled out"I'll hold him off".

"No!.."

"We can't beat him"Gaby said placing a hand on Farhat's shoulder....we are already out of magic energy and am sure he knows that just please get out of here".

"Bu..but I...I can't leave you"A terrified Farhat wailed as tears leaked from his face.

"You will make it...you must or my life will be in vain and our coming here...you always wanted recognition right ...our coming here...this will help you achieve all you ever dreamed off...I'll catch up when am "

Farhat wailed uncontrollably as turbulent thoughts ran through his head.

Of cos he wanted recognition but Gaby's death was one he couldn't live with. And he was simply asking for his permission to die alone, Nevertheless....

Farhat nodded.

He needed to save himself, might as well still make him a much better friend that is less stronger and less smarter.

He ran in the other direction as Phye came into view.

"By god!a hell dog..."dark muttered as he sighted the beast.

As Farhat got on it the Sorceror let out a loud burst of laughter.

Seeing his distraction Gaby shot him a burst of flame which Dark relinquished in time and let out a cuff of earth which pinned both his hands upward to the wall opposite them.

Then he turned his attention to an escaping Farhat and raised a huge pile of earth barrier which fit into the wall to block their way.

Farhat quickly stretched out both hands and began icing it,afterwhich he shattered it and Phye took off again down the hall way.

With his mind,Dark began raising them above the ground but was distracted buy the pile of flames that shot in his face.

He immediately released Farhat and the hell dog from his magic to block the fire from burning him, every part of him feeling irritated.

This Demon though bounded had just shot him flames from his mouth,he must have known one couldn't control both mind spells and elementals at the same time.

With such low magic energy he could still shoot fire balls from his Mouth.

Perhaps he was mistaken...it seemed this lad had just reached Lower midtier level.

Dark raised a pile of earth to block him from Gaby and turned to Farhat who was now off Phye. Both lying close to another as they tried to get up.

He summoned a magic circle and sent ice crystals flying in their direction but Farhat melted most of it to water.

Most of it except a few which flew past his defense as his magic circle vanished.

Phye pushed him away in time and they pierced it's leg instead.

It stood for a while, growling at dark till it finally fell in front of Farhat, whining in pain.

"No!"Farhat yelled as he knelt beside Phye and covered the bleeding site with both hands putting pressure on it to stop the bleeding.

There goes his newly made friend and his discovery.

He reached out his hand for Phye's saliva but then stopped himself and retracted it.

No,the Sorceror and Gaby were both watching.

This wouldn't be a good time but what if they never survived this place?

Apparently this sorceror wouldn't let him escape but they could have a chance together at least a slim chance of escaping or should he say...a chance to die while fighting rather than running away like a coward.

Farhat summoned a magic circle and froze Dark's whole body except his face.

But he was replied with Dark's threatening unceasing laughter.

It worried him no longer for he was prepared to die but not after inflicting more scars on the beast before them.

The next minute, Farhat was close to Gaby and Dark had broken out of the ice but Farhat had managed to ice Gaby's earth cuffs in time.

He tried summoning a magic circle but only few sharp crystals emerged and aimed for the Sorceror.

Before Farhat could blink he felt a sharp cut on his side.

His magic circle vanished as he sighted the object in Dark's hand which had inflicted the pain,a sword now stained in crimson red fluid.

His blood.

Farhat dropped to the ground and held his side as he stared eye widened into space, his vision fading.

Gaby ran over and knelt beside him,his tears falling freely on Farhat's face which he held.

He couldn't believe it,few seconds ago Farhat was standing beside him and now he was dying Infront of him...As he cleaned up his friend's tears with both his palms more of the liquid fell from his eyes into the young demon's face while sorely wishing this was a dream a dream he would give the world to wake up from.

"No!No!No!...I swore to protect you...Farhat...Farhat listen to me...you can't die...you won't die...You can't leave me!"Gaby yelled out wishing deep within him he would trade his life for Farhat's.

Farhat felt life slowly draining from him as he stared into the eyes of his friend, his vision even blurry now as he strained to see Gaby but couldn't.

He wanted to speak but couldn't couldn't even blink. He could just stare.

He felt helpless.

Now he wanted to talk about Phye's healing ability,he wanted Phye's healing more than ever now.

Maybe Gaby would have found a way to do so if he knew.

He wanted to let Gaby know but he couldn't, couldn't speak, couldn't move.

He wanted to confess it all to Gaby,to tell him how much of an unfaithful friend he had been,to tell him how much he loved him and how irreplaceable he was too him.

He had wronged him,had even been engulfed by selfishness even in their last moment.

He regretted every moment, every bit of it and would gladly pay with his life.

Now he wanted to tell Gaby how much he deserved his fate, but he couldn't.

Maybe it was better this way, that Gaby didn't know how much.

He would shut him up anyway.

Lastly,he made his final wish within him..that Gaby would survive. He had to,to avenge his death.

Even though he know it was unlikely,he still hung on to that empty hope till he breathed his last.

"Don't worry...he won't leave without you,you will join him".Dark laughed.

When Gaby placed a hand over Farhat nostrils and there was no air emerging from it,his breathing narrowed as he clenched Farhat's clothes in wrath and turned towards Dark.

"Ohhh!....you have no idea how much I love that look"he jested.

Gaby got to his feet and upon his first step, his feet got stuck and immediately his surroundings changed.

The young sorceror's eye darted around the huge vast valley he was in,surrounded by an endless row of carpet grass and Infront if him was what seemed to be a river of blood filled with bones.

It was like a normal valley except above was a blood moon in a red sky.

What in the world was this magic....

"The fright on your face doest not satisfy me...I will make you beg for your very own death....It's high time I crush your very soul!.... welcome to the valley of death....a place you'd long for death's embrace but then will she flee from you... prepare to experience real terror...."

He heard Dark's voice echo in the valley.

Gaby looked around him as saw countless bloodshot eyed monsters emerge from the distance, carrying diverse tools of torture.

He wanted to make a run for it but he still couldn't move as he stared into the face of death itself..

Gaby tried moving again and this time,he did.

So far the beasts we're not coming from the blood sea.

So he made a move to run to run towards it but as his feet touched it,the bones began to gather up ahead, taking different forms of both demons and animals alike.

Gaby stared at the monsters behind him then at the boney frames.

As he debated which to run towards.

When the monsters from afar came into view his legs melted from fear that it could barely hold his body.

They were Demons in their full form except with even worst appearances.

From where he stood the innumerable beasts upon him looked as through ready to tear him to a million pieces but he knew they won't.

They were probably going to torture him forever if he couldn't find a way out of here.

He quickly looked away and inhaled deeply in attempt to stabilize his mind he couldn't stand the sight of them.

Gaby tried summoning a magic circle but his magic was gone.

There was no magic in this world.

And he couldn't fight in liquid.

Gaby looked upahead and watched the bony demons approached him.

There was no where to run.

The broken young sorceror fell to his knees, his entire body shivering from his feet upwards as the images of the approaching beasts and the torture he was about to suffer ran through his mind.

It was the end.

The end of his plans, dreams and hopes

And right now he would rather choose an end than immortality in a world like this.

"Pls your lordship...kill me..."he pleaded but was replied with a resounding dark laughter.

"I can't hear you!"Dark's hoarse voice echoed in the valley.

"Pls!...Kill me!"he shouted even louder amidst a rapid breathing, accompanied by the beads of sweat that ran down his face to drench the collar of his shirt.

"Too bad I don't feel like taking more lives today..."he laughed gruesomely."Today the captor picks not the captured"

"Pls!!"...Gaby pleaded but there came no response and he dropped to his knees.

Their marching was even louder now as the ground below him shook even more vigorously, they were already upon him.

Gaby's eyes watched the Shadows of the beasts surround him from the grass below.

Then he watched one of the shadows raise what seemed to be a huge spike

He wouldn't raise his eyes, wouldn't look at them.

For he would rather pick pain than both terror and pain.

He closed his eyes, waiting for the end.

But no...there would be no end, only a beginning accompanied by endless pain.

Gaby froze as he held his breath, waiting for the raised heated spikes to pierce his skull but then he heard a voice.

"That's enough!"
