26 Chapter 26
"We need to defeat it before it hurts anyone else Sunflowmon!" the redhead called out to her digimon.
"Yes, Aiba!" the Sunflowmon agreed.
The Data Eater raised the six tentacles on its front into the air, each one stretching high and looking ready to lash out at the girl and her digimon.
"Sunshine Beam!" Sunflowmon interrupted it, firing off a large beam of energy that impacted the ugly thing before it could react.
Only, it didn't even budge from the attack, and all six tentacles shot down towards the digimon and busty redhead. Tearing through the air like rockets.
"Garurumon stop it!" You ordered instantly.
Howling, the wolf digimon blitzed forward, covering the distance in the blink of an eye, "Flash Freeze!" your digimon roared, breathing out a wave of ice cold power that washed over the tentacle monster and froze it in place, tentacles stopped just mere few from spearing into both Sunflowmon who had turned around to protect its tamer, and the girl herself.
You jumped off of Garurumon's back and ran over to the girl. She looked at you with eyes wide with surprise, "W-what, who are you?" she stammered.
"No time!", you cut her off, grabbing her arm and pulling her back, raising your digivice into the air, "Reload, Devidramon, Gatomon!"
Your other two digimon appeared, Gatomon landing on Garurumon's back and Devidramon flapping his wings to keep himself aloft mid air.
"Attack all of you!" you ordered.
You were interested in the beginning, but the way it just shrugged off that attack from the Sunflowmon, and just its sheer looks. The thing really put you off, no wonder everyone was so scared of these things.
And this one was a lower tier one from what rumours you'd heard of their body shapes.
Blue flames filled Garurumon's mouth, a sphere of energy generated in Gatomon's palm, Sunflowmon's face began to light up once more as it apparently agreed with your order and Devidramon's mouth began to generate a storm of destruction.
"Howling Blaster!"
"Neko Laser!"
"Sunshine Beam!"
"Dark Gale!"
They all attacked and all four attacks together caused a massive explosion with enough force to almost send you and this Aiba girl flying even as you ran further and further away from the fight with her.
And when the smoke cleared and you turned to look, you gasped, because despite all that power thrown at the Data Eater, it looked almost perfectly fine, no worse for wear at all.
You clicked your tongue. This is the last time you go looking for the eldritch abomination look a likes. Really, your curiosity is going to get you killed one day.
"Garurumon, freeze it again then all of you attack it once more!" you shouted to the digimon.
Its tentacles already lashing out were dodged quite easily, almost lazily by your three digimon. Sunflowmon got lucky, it seemed to see your three digimon as a bigger threat and aimed for them, and they were in front of her, so she got away with minimal effort.
"Wait, who are you?" the girl, Aiba asked, pulling her hand from yours roughly and grinding to a stop.
"Flash Freeze!" Garurumon howled, and you saw him out of the corner of your eye let loose with his freezing breath attack again.
You rolled your eyes, "The guy saving you from getting tentacle raped by the lovecraftian horror back there princess."
Her eyes drew up in horror that the thought, "Ew disgusting man," she wrinkled her nose, "But seriously, why are you fighting the Data Eater?"
"Neko Laser!"
"Dark Gale!"
"Sunshine Beam!"
Another explosion rocked the platform, and Aiba almost went backwards, landing on her ass, would have if you didn't catch her arm and keep her steady.
You realised your blunder almost immediately. If you had let her fall, she would have no doubt gave you an awesome panty shot with how short her skirt is.
'Damnit...' you internally bemoaned.
You bet they were yellow.
"Thanks," she said, at least she was grateful, "But seriously why are you here? I thought Zaxxon put out an order to keep everyone out of Kowloon."
"Hey kettle, I'm pot," you replied with with a smirk. She glared but you waved her off, "I was fighting some digimon and heard about the Eater being about, so I figured I'd come check it out and see if anybody needed help," you lied casually. Always better to come off as morally upright and the hero type for certain people.
She blinked, "Oh," she blinked then pursed her lips, "Still it's really dangerous taking on an Eater, you shouldn't be here."
In response, you snorted, "Says the girl using only one Champion to fight the Eater, while I sent out three," you retorted, before pointing your finger behind her.
Just in time for her to see the Eater launched out of its frozen prison, right into Garurumon's Howling Blaster, that burned away at it and forced it up into the air, where Devidramon roared and fired twin lasers from his eyes that caught it mid way between them and exploded.
The Data Eater along with it.
"Well, that wasn't so hard," you hummed, "Creepy as fuck, would not do again. But not too hard really."
Granted, that's probably because of all the digimon your own had been devouring right left and centre. Hell, you just had your team munch on three powerful Champion's they would have been hard pressed to beat yesterday.
