49 A Shy Date

//So my university studies just started and I have little to no time to write. Add to it my temporary writer's block, Stardew Valley and Dxd fanfictions and sprinkle it with Webnovel crashing and deleting the chapter I wrote and you can understand why it is so late haha..ha..

But let's not speak about boring stuff anymore and just ENJOY the story!...

With a snap the glass hatch was closed, entrapping the fluffy, colorful parasites inside of the transparent cage. A quick spell caused the bugs to fall asleep and Starfall smiled seeing that the impromptu enchanted container already worked it's magic to keep the creatures docile.

"Umm..." Fluttershy seemed to be bothered seeing the caged Parasprites but Starfall just smiled at her reassuringly.

"It's just a temporary measure Shy. Don't worry. I'll get them a nice cozy terrarium or something when I have the time and I'll even have you help me design it if you want." He said while petting the shy pegasus on the head out of habit making her instantly turn crimson.

Starfall realized what he was doing and with a sheepish grin lowered his hoof, noting a small hint of disappointment on Fluttershy's face.

"Sorry. I'm so used to giving spike and Phoebe headpats as if it were candy." He said with amusement.

"N-no...it's alright...umm.." She lowered her head and it seemed as if she wanted to say something but stopped herself.

Starfal just smiled and and pulled her huff leading her to the exit.

"Let's go Flutters. I'm going to make it the most memorable date ever." He said with excitement as they left his underground lab, Fluttershy following him with an ever increasing embarrassment.. But she was also very happy and excited despite her appearance...

________

"Starfall...W-wait! Where are you leading me?!" She called out scared in her usual whisper all the while following Starfall with a blindfold covering her vision.

For whatever reason, Starfall decided to stop her from seeing her destination before they arrived, and while it sounded pretty romantic on the outside, you need to remember that the mare in question was Fluttershy...

"It's alright Fluttershy. I'm right beside you. There's no need to worry." Starfall said reassuringly.

She felt a gentle hoof caressing her beck as Starfall led her towards the unknown and somehow she didn't feel as scared as she felt just a minute ago. Starfall had this mysterious power of giving her strength by just being close by and she hoped that they never had to separate...

"Alright, we're here!... Here let me help you take this off." He said before levitating the blindfold from the mare's eyes and storing it in his saddlebag.

Fluttershy squinted her eyes from the sudden brightness of the sun only to suddenly open them wide in shock when she saw what was right in front of her.

"Wha... Starfall... This..." She tried to say but Starfall just smiled and said...

"What do you think? I thought long and hard about how to make it the best date you've ever had and then it struck me. Where would s

She be the most comfortable? Of course there's a few places, but this one stuck out to me as the best for our date. I had Spike and Phoebe help with the preparations and even Angel decided to give a paw when he saw what we were doing." Starfal smiled seeing him moved Fluttershy was.

Fluttershy didn't know what to say.

She expected Starfall to take her to some fancy restaurant or to a theatre and etc. like he sometimes did with Twilight and recently with Rarity and Applejack, but while she didn't mind it much as long as they went there together. She disliked the crowds and knew that she wouldn't really feel comfortable...

But apparently Starfall knew that, and did his best to make her feel like home...by making a picnic... practically in her backyard...

A blanket laid in the grass amongst the few flowers that still bloomed even when autumn was already in fool blossom, colouring the trees in a barrage of colours fro. yellow to red and brown.

a small stream passed by the spot, the same steam that meandered around her house only a few dozen meters away and only a few trees and bushes separated the picnic blanket from the prying eyes of her animal friends...

It was...

...Perfect!

"So? Do you like it?" He led her onto the blanket as she tried to comprehend the situation, until finally a bright smile spread on the face of the adorable Pegasus. If there was a reward for the prettiest smile In Equestria, Fluttershy would have won the first place without a single doubt...

"It's... It's Amazing! I-I just don't know what to say..." She said in an unusually loud voice and Starfall couldn't help but smile as he folded his hoof around hers when they finally sat down.

"What about...thank you?" He teased and Fluttershy blushed before surprising him when their lips met, Fluttershy being the one initiating the kiss.

As they separated, The shy Pegasus couldn't help but avoid his gaze as she smiled happily with a heavy blush.

"Was that...a good 'thank you'?" She asked shyly and Starfall felt his heart melt the more he looked at the adorable mare.

"I say...yes...but I think I also need to thank you because it was worth much more thank this some picnic." He said with a grin and Fluttershy turned to him, surprisingly eager to know what he meant...

He didn't know how it happened, but only a few minutes later, the duo laid on the blanket snogging their tongues out, the picnic basket all but forgotten...

__________

As they laid there amongst the nature, just chilling in a comfortable silence, Starfall couldn't help but think about how it all started.

His past life. His death. Reincarnation... Somehow, in this quiet moment, all that past memories appeared so trivial. This new life was much more interesting, much more meaningful...He looked at the slowly dozing off Fluttershy snuggling into his side, and couldn't help but smile as he kissed her forehead.

Yes...He was really living a dream come true...

________

"D-Do you really not want to stay for tea? I had such a great time with you and I don't really want it to end just yet..." Said Fluttershy as they stood in front of the doors to her cottage.

"As much as I'd love to, I can't promise to hold myself back, and I don't want to damage our relationship by going to far Flutters. You know just as well as I do that we won't be able to stop just on idle chat and tea." He said while kissing her gently.

"And...What if I... Didn't mind going a bit further..." She said shyly but with a surprising amount od daring.

Starfall felt conflicted for a moment but he knew that they shouldn't rush things and Fluttershy was a very fragile girl. He knew that she would most likely over exaggerate things and might even come into some baseless assumption if he doesn't ease her into the idea that everything she did was the right thing.

On the other hoof...she might come to the assumption that she wasn't good enough or something If he didn't accept her invitation, so he needed to make sure that isn't going to be the case...

...

...Ahh... Buck it!...

"Alright Shy...You convinced me... Lead the way..." He said with a smile and the beaming smile that he received was wort all the trouble...
