29 Ho Ho Ho

Surprise chapter. I had to post this because it says 23. of December in the chapter. I was powerless. Enjoy.

(3rd Person POV)

"The truth is I am actually interested in trying several drugs on you and your fused companion. It is of scientific value that you offer yourself to me in that regard. Be honoured you are my first test subject.", Batman said and spread his arms to show just how lucky the man was.

"You'll take them now, won't you? But don't worry, it's all for the sake of science."

A cold shiver ran down the century-old man who had become 'immortal'.

Dr Thomas Wayne had a deadpan expression on his face.

"I believe we can end things here. I had all of these things planned with you, but you disappointed me. You are nothing but a joke anymore.", the man said. And without waiting a moment longer, he appeared in front of Batman and tried to impale him. But that didn't work.

Batman's body moved on its own and he bent his upper body all the way back, as if he was playing limbo. This seemed to surprise Dr. Hurt and he attacked again. He began to use his speed more to catch Batman, but that wasn't working. Batman's skill in using martial arts had reached inhuman levels. However, no matter how skilled he was, he was still

"... only human.", Dr Hurt said as he analysed his opponent.

"You are more skilled than I gave you credit for. You are also more skilled than Barbatos remembers. I fused with him you know. It's what granted me my immortality."

"You sure talk a lot. And here I was thinking I was the arrogant one."

"Oh? You are indeed arrogant to believe that you have any chance of containing me. Tell me why you are here today. Why choose this day? The 23. of December to come here. Shouldn't you be buying presents for Alfred or for your adopted son Richard Greyson, or maybe for your other son Damian?"

"You are cursing this city. I won't allow a stupid old-timer who believes himself to be more than he is, to pollute my city the way you do. I will break you."

"... Hahahahahaha, oh how amusing you are. You will break me? I don't think so. Even if you could evade me for the past few minutes, I wasn't even using any of my magic and you are weak to magic. What do you think would happen if I use my full speed?", Dr Hurt asked.

"Why don't we find out?", Batman asked.

Dr Hurt attacked again. This time he used higher speeds and it was working, somewhat. Batman was still able to dodge at hair's width. Batman also taped Dr Hurt at different parts of his body at times and after a few more minutes, Dr Hurt stopped.

"What are you doing? Why are you tapping me? Are you planting explosives on me?"

"No", Batman said and as soon as he said that, the body of Dr Hurt began to bloat like a balloon and deform.

"Wha-"

"The truth is, you're already dead.", Batman said and the body of Dr Hurt exploded.

*BOOOM*

However, that wasn't the end of the good doctor. He began to reform from the darkness. But his appearance was different this time. He took on the appearance of a big bat. The Hyper-Adapter had begun to take some control and was using his power to bring Dr Hurt back. The magical energy in the room was rising to disgusting degrees.

"Do yOu thInk ThAT thIs wouLD woRk? I AM beYoNd yOU!!!", he said with a distorted voice.

"I don't think that's terribly likely.", Batman answered. That seemed to be the last straw for the doctor and he appeared in front of Batman in an instant. And this time, there was no time for Batman to move. The arm of Dr Hurt impaled Batman's chest and held his heart in his hands.

"That was enough of that.", Hurt said, "You played well, but not good enough."

*Ach*

"You'll take them now, won't you? But don't worry, it's all for the sake of science."

Dr Hurt was confused for a second. He then flashed in front of Batman again and tried to split him in two with his razor-sharp claws. Batman moved out of the way with his grappling hook and took higher ground.

Hurt attacked again, by firing a dark spell towards Batman. The man used a powerful flashlight to dispel the darkness. Normally that wouldn't have been possible, but the light was infused with magic energy so it was enough. Batman then threw some explosives towards Dr Hurt.

*BOOM*

The explosives triggered when they were right next to Dr Hurt and blew up parts of his face and his right bat wing. This seemed to enrage the man. Everything regrew but he had an angry expression on his face. He stopped playing around and before Batman could take out more weapons, his lower body suddenly didn't do what he wanted anymore.

*Ach*

The sound of Batman spitting blood was heard, as his upper body fell to the ground.

"You're truly powerful ... Hyper-Adapter...", was the last thing Batman said before he died.

"You'll take them now, won't you? But don't worry, it's all for the sake of science."

A frown was seen on the doctor's face as he attacked Batman again. He swiped his claws at Batman and the latter blocked it with his sword which he had on his back. The sword was made from nanobots and he could create it and remove it as he wished.

"You already said that.", Dr Hurt said as he overpowered Batman and impaled him with a spear made of darkness from behind.

Dr Hurt was shocked. Batman began walking towards him and continued his monologue.

"You'll take them now, won't you? But don't worry, it's all for the sake of science."

Dr Hurt stopped attacking for a moment.

"What is this? What is going on?"

"Interesting, it would seem that you are becoming aware. I guess the creature is not called Hyper-Adapter for nothing. Well then allow me to greet you again. How many times have we held this discussion already?

I have created a drug that bestows upon you a Past Forecasting/Predicting Power. Its effect causes you to enter a time loop in your mind during this battle; whenever you kill me, you are sent back to a certain point in time, before you killed me and are forced to fight me again, so the only way to exit the loop is to not kill me. I got the idea from an anime, believe it or not.

A conundrum is it not? If you don't kill me, our fight will go on forever, but if you do kill me, you just return to this moment. Now I added a little something else to that drug. I call it the anti-matter potion. A little something I was working on after I created the Anti-Matter gun. But that's beside the point.

What is important is that you are going to be unable to separate from each other. And your immortality will bring you only pain. I need you for something you see. I need a magical battery and you are the perfect specimen for this. Isn't it wonderful that you get to participate in not just one but two experiments of mine? You truly should feel honoured."

Bruce then takes his Portal Gun and fires a portal in front of him. In the next moment, the Batmobile drives through and comes to a stop in front of Batman.

"BOB give me the Energy Constrictor and the upgraded 'Evil spirit containment box', please.", Batman said.

A compartment opened up and two devices were handed to Batman. A tennis ball-sized orb and a slightly altered 'Evil Spirit Containment Box'. Batman took them and then turned around to Dr Hurt who had a furious expression on his face.

"Do you think I'll let this happen? DON'T MAKE ME LAUGH!!!!", he screamed but then...

"Wha ...", he said and then his movement stopped. Dr Hurt fell to the ground in front of Batman who was only watching this happen.

"There are a few more things in that drug than just the anti-matter potion. I also added things like paralysis drugs, an anti-teleportation chip and such things. I wouldn't want you to leave our party now would I?", Batman said and then clicked the button on the 'Energy Constrictor'.

The sphere began to pulse and Batman threw it towards Dr Hurt's body. In the next moment, thousands of yellow tendrils shot out of the ball and tied the body of Dr Hurt. These were energy threads that Batman created to bind any form of magical or energy being. He knew that he would encounter some of these in the future.

The energy tendrils began to pull Dr Hurt back into the sphere.

"NOOOO, I will return Bruce! I will come for yoouuuuu..."

He disappeared from there. A clicking sound was heard, signalling Batman that it was successful.

"Ho Ho Ho, Motherf*cker."

He then took the Energy constrictor and placed it inside the upgraded version of the 'Evil Spirit Containment Box'. The box was then sealed. Batman pressed a few buttons at the side of the box and got the necessary information he needed.

[Energy Stored: 100%; Type: Magical, Curse; Damage. 0%]

"Seems like it worked.", Bruce said and then stored the box in the Batmobile. He collected all of the things he used today and then once again grabbed the 'Curse locator'. He held it in front of him and measured the Curse concentration around him. And just as he expected, the concentration was getting lower and lower. He had momentarily succeeded. Who knew what other curses he might find? But for now, this was enough.

(Batman POV)

I got into the Batmobile and then fired up the engine. A portal opened in front of us and I drove in. I was done for today, but not yet for tomorrow. I still had some finishing touches that I had to do.

The Batmobile drove through the portal and arrived back on the first floor of the Batgarage. I jumped out and grabbed the 'Evil Spirit Containment Box'. This was an important moment for me. I would use this baby to power some of my projects. I was still not yet a master magician or whatever the ranks were. I would have to study more and this was the perfect way for me to set up more magical protections around the Wayne Manor and the surrounding area.

I stored the 'ESCB' or 'Evil Spirit Containment Box' in a secure location until I would use it later. I got out of my suit and entered the lab. There I could see the sleigh I had already created for tomorrow. I was currently working on the large red sack where I would take the presents from. My outfit was already done and it looked quite cool I had to say.

I had rid Gotham of a big curse and now I would spread some hope and happiness as well as many other things. I had a big grin on my face because I just loved to mess with people. And this was just the funniest way to do it right now. I would get to make children smile and have fun at the same time. This was amazing.
