Yuuya Is Disappointed?

"Yeah, that is because most of them came here running after our captain," Rin could see the faint anger and frustration on the girl's face.

It was valid since the kendo club was blasted with people who were just here for skirt-chasing rather than being serious.

The students who joined the kendo club were all in all very serious about the sport and practiced it with diligence, but there was no way to do anything about it.

"That must've been hard on your part," Rin could see the problem if the kendo club decided to straight up stop the students from visiting.

They would lose the people who actually want to join in and practice, and even if they don't like that the students that are coming in were after their captain, they couldn't deny that most of these people were tenacious.

"It's not that hard for the most part since half of them are driven off from the smell of the used gears," The girl smiled a bit deviously and Rin understood some part of what was going on.

What the kendo club did was, they picked the few people from the club who sweated a lot and gave the new people their gear without washing it.

And since morning they haven't changed those gears, so the students who came here for chasing the captain had to wear these sweaty and smelly gear if they wanted to spar.

Otherwise, they would be sent on their way back after a quick tour of the dojo that was done in 10 minutes.

How do they discover the people who are after the captain? Well, that was easy.

"Woah!! She is so cool!! It is like she came right out of a TV screen," Marin exclaimed looking at the girl who was standing on the elevated platform that was in the middle of the hall.

There were a few more people standing there with her looking around at the matches that were held around them.

They were also wearing the same uniform as the girl who led Yuuya and the others inside the dojo.

But even when wearing the same clothes, the girl who was the captain stood out in many ways.

If someone walked into the hall, even in that crowded place the first person they'd see is her. She attracted one's attention to herself without even trying.

"Well, that is our captain Busujima Saeko," The girl seemed proud seeing that others were able to see the beauty of her captain.

"Busjima-senpai was quite famous for her looks, but seeing her in person in something else, I totally get it," Rin also nodded sagely while crossing her arms.

"For real!" Marin also nodded with a full smile. 'It is like she is cosplaying, I wanna do that too,' Marin thought looking at Saeko.

There was a character she liked whose image overlapped with Saeko's, so Marin was very interested in her.

Saeko is what one would call a beautiful woman that has straight purple hair reaching her thighs and radiant blue filled with dignity.

Wearing the kendo uniform that roughly outlined her body without being too much, she looked like a woman of graze that you'd normally see in a period drama set in feudal Japan.

"Also have you done kendo before?" The girl suddenly asked Rin as she saw her looking at the spars with a certain interest.

"Just a little in middle school," Rin smiled while the back of her head, she wasn't very good at kendo since she had only done it during her second year in middle school.

And that was only because she was high on period dramas at the time "I see, I should've known since you were sharp before," The girl nodded since Rin was able to deduce that many of the people with little training.

"That wasn't anything special," Rin shook her head, and then the girl spoke again.

"Do you want to join the club?"

"Ah, no I was just looking around, I am really good enough to join in," Rin smiled awkwardly, she quit kendo in middle school because she was average at it, and the kendo club was a place for the main team who participates in competitions practice.

The only students who end up joining Kendo clubs at schools are those who have practiced kendo since childhood and have a passion for improving.

It is hardly seen that someone joins one in high school or middle school as a hobby, if they do they won't stick to it since the others around them are more passionate about it.

That is why Rin thought it would be a waste, especially in Ousei.

"You can always improve, almost 90 % of the students in kendo club just practice because they want to, they don't go to competitions or gatherings of any sort, so there is really no pressure from the school or from the seniors, it is 'If you want to join, you can join' type of thing if you just want to practice for yourself," The girl explained since it looked like Rin had a similar experience in the past so she wasn't keen on joining.

"I see, maybe I should try it after all," Rin grinned loosening up her shoulders, it doesn't hurt to try right? It would be a fun experience anyway.

"Go for it Rin-chan, I'll cheer for you," Marin also wanted to see Rin give it a try.

"Why don't you try as well?" Rin thought it would funny to see Marin have a spar.

"I can totes feel the malicious intent behind that comment," Marin narrowed her eyes looking at Rin who laughed.

"Looks like I got caught," Rin wanted to see how badly Marin would fail if she tried.

"And I don't think I need to ask you two if you're going try," Rin sighed as Yuuya and Grayfia's faces said it all, they weren't going to have any part of it either.

"Well, I'll lead you to the changing room," The girl said as Rin turned around quickly to look at her.

"Senpai, please don't give me sweaty gear," Rin spoke with a sense of urgency in her voice; no girl would want to have any of this. Thankfully….

"Don't worry, that is only limited to boys," The girl smiled and started walking towards to changing room.

"Inequality is amazing when it's in your favor," Rin smiled as the Senpai laughed as well.

"Yuuya you've been silent the whole time, did something happen?" Marin turned her attention to Yuuya, he had barely spoken since they came into the dojo.

"I thought this place would be a lot ….less noisy," Yuuya spoke in his usual tone.

After seeing the location of the kendo club and how they were becoming unpopular, Yuuya thought he would come across a nice and somber atmosphere.

But on the other hand, he was met with a place noisier than the fish market.

And Yuuya wasn't wrong about his deduction, it normally would've been the case if not for the Captain of the Kendo club.

Yuuya had no idea she was even in the equation, but her existence was the one that drew such a crowd here.

If there was a club that almost all of the first-year students visited during the club fair, It was the Kendo club. partly because of its location and the facility itself but mostly because of Saeko.

"Ah, did you really think that?" Marin tilted her head, she already knew it would be like this because she had checked a post on the board inside the school app.

But as you'd expect Yuuya wasn't the type to do that, in all honesty, his mobile phone was there just for show.

He never really uses it ...aside from making payments for the sweets he purchases on the way back home.

And even when Rin pointed it out on their way here, he didnt think it would be this bad.

'He looks a little disappointed, Cute!' Marin's eyes were shining as she looked at Yuuya, she had even forgotten to cheer for Rin who was about to spar.

'She's staring a bit too intensely,' Grayfia thought, she had almost no interest in the kendo club and was just tagging along with Yuuya who was more interested in the location than the club.

She can use magic to make this place empty but she was refraining from doing so, she'd rather not say the reason for it.

Leaving that aside, Rin quickly finished her sparing which gained her a fair number of cheers from the observers.

She was actually good, that was because of her long slender limbs that helped have her more reach and she was also tall with good reflexes giving her more of an edge.

In the end, she still lost as her opponent was someone who had been doing kendo for quite some time so the advantage of her reach was quickly lost.

She still did reasonably well, enough for her to get the green flag.

Now if she wanted to she could join the club without any worries. But....
