'There are some weird school kids these days,' Yuuya didn't even look back even if he could feel their gazes on his back. He also left it alone since he saw a slight blush on the girl's face, she seemed a bit embarrassed about her behavior.

'Does he not remember me?' The brown-haired boy wondered as his face didn't show much change at all.

"So why did you glance at me on the bus?" But he was soon dragged out of his thoughts by the girl's displeased tone.

'...I missed my opportunity to slip away,' The boy thought as he didn't know how he should handle the current situation.

'Will the donut shop excuse work? ...Well, I guess not,' The boy could see the girl glare at him as if she could understand what he was thinking.

The boy was having quite a different first day at school than he imagined he would.

The same was true for Yuuya as well as he entered the school gates along with a few students that were on the bus with him.

Though he had to say he quite liked the aesthetic of this school already. He was walking on a bricked path with cherry blossom trees on both sides of the path, and they were in full bloom, their blooming season hasn't ended yet.

If Yuuya could have it his way, he'll just sit between these trees and enjoy the silence in the peaceful surrounding, but sadly he could not do that.

The other students that had come with him seemed to be chattering and having fun while walking down the bricked path.

After a few minutes, the school building came into view as the number of students also increased. The building stood tall and proud with five floors, its red brick walls and white trim giving it a stately and dignified appearance.

The windows were tall and narrow, with intricate designs etched into the panes of glass. The roof was steep and peaked, adorned with a wrought iron weathervane that spun lazily in the breeze.

'Is the other school the same?' Yuuya wondered as he reached the front doors. They were heavy wooden doors, with large brass knockers in the shape of lions' heads. The doors were flanked by tall, ornate columns that seemed to support the weight of the building above.

The doors were wide open for the students to arrive into the main hallway as Yuuya passed through it with the others who were busy admiring the beautiful yet simplistic design of the building.

'My classroom is on the second floor,' Yuuya already got this information from Kaori when she visited, she gave him a small booklet that had information regarding the school, it was also personalized based on the student it was given to with their name, classroom and seating arrangement written in it.

There were also recommendations for them to check out some of the school facilities.

'I don't know if I should take this as a compliment or not, well maybe I should be a little more careful,' Yuuya looked at the places he was recommended with his usual look.

1. Gym.

2. Literature club.

3. Library.

4. Sewing club.

Yuuya could tell that the first recommendation was made based on what he used to look like before. Although there were a few more things off about this booklet but...

'I'll just let it be,' Yuuya placed the booklet back in his inner pocket as he walked down the marbled floor of the large hallway lined with dark wood paneling.

Yuuya reached in front of the class he was supposed to be in.

Class 1-C

"Hey did you see that new anime?"

"No~ I was a bit too into this drama,"

"What really? You're missing out,"

Yuuya could hear the chatter even though he was standing outside the classroom.

'I feel …old,' Yuuya certainly knew he was old, but to be reminded of the fact this way, wasn't something he expected.

Anyway since he had come this far, he'll just need to see it through to the end.

'I just want a quiet school life,' Yuuya thought as he opened the classroom door and walked in.

'My seat is in the corner …..near the window …well at least the view is good,' Yuuya sat down in his seat as he looked out of the window, he didn't even bother to make a retort about his seat and the things he was thinking.

'What cliché light novel setting is this?' Yuuya thought for a bit before he let it go as something else caught his attention.

'Why is the class silent?' Yuuya was wondering where all of the youthful vigor went, just a moment ago they were all chatting happily but now they were whispering trying to not make any noise.

'Hasn't this been the case for a while now?' Yuuya thought as he noticed this happening in the hallways as well. He didn't really think too deeply about it before but…

'Do I look …scary? Whatever, no one will bother me if that is the case,' Yuuya didn't even dwell on it for more than a second as he thought this might work in his favor.

There were still about 15 minutes left before the homeroom started, So Yuuya just looked outside the window seeing the clouds in the sky and the birds flying.

'I never thought I'll relate to a character this much,' Yuuya was thinking over many things while his face didn't even change a bit.

The classroom was also silent save for some whispering and the like, so it was really peaceful.

'Maybe I can really have a peaceful school life,' Yuuya thought as Apophis wasn't here to bother him and…

"Yuuya, why are you looking outside the window?" Before Yuuya could think any further the vigor of the classroom had returned to its peak.

"...I am just contemplating life, I think it would be better if I was a cloud," Yuuya said as he looked at the source of this sudden burst of energy.

"Yuuya, you talk really funny sometimes," Marin laughed as if she had heard something really funny, she knew he was serious, and that made it even funnier.

"...You aren't in this class, right?" Yuuya asked since if that was true then he could really…

"Yep, Like isn't this totes awesome? We are classmates take care of me, alright?" Marin's smile was full of happiness as she placed her bag on the seat in front of Yuuya.

"…I see," Yuuya could only say this as all of his dreams of having a quiet school life has been destroyed.

"Hmm? Yuuya you don't look happy?" Marin narrowed her eyes as she tilted her head.

"I am quite happy," Yuuya said flatly as his face didn't show any hints of him being happy at all.

"This is very difficult," Marin muttered unhappily as she tried to observe Yuuya's face up close, she really wanted to know if he was unhappy or not since one won't be able to figure that out from his words alone.

Well, she knows he is happy if he smiles or unhappy if he is a bit salty with his words, but if he doesn't say anything. It becomes hard to read his mood since his face also doesn't help.

'It is also super hard to look at his face for more than 20 seconds,' Marin thought as Yuuya would always stare back at her if she looked at him continuously for more than 15 seconds and that's where the problem began for Marin.

"Haaaa, Looks like everyone is in class, settle down kids we are starting homeroom," A yawning woman came into the class as she stood in front of the podium while rubbing her eyes.

Her words and appearance brought the kid's attention to her even more, she seemed to be their homeroom teacher, And…

'She is sloppy,' That is what everyone in the class was thinking looking at the beautiful woman who looked to be in her late twenties.

She looked really sloppy as her blue dress was crumpled, and even her white lab coat was hanging off from one of her shoulders. She really looked like she had just woken up and came straight into the class.

She surely wasn't a teacher you'd expect to see at one of the top schools in japan. But here she was nonetheless.

"Now Now, stop admiring you beautiful teacher and sit down, we need to take attendance," The woman smiled as she waved her hand while yawning once more.
