46 Lightning Body

Waking up in the morning after a rough week is always hard. Especially without coffee. Thankfully I have Alfred who got me up bright and early and set up some tea.

Thank god for tea, my next project is making coffee using the caffeine in it. I'm not hoping any coffee beans are located in my current environment. Coffee beans are grown in tropical environments. I'm just going to attempt to concoct a mixture of caffeine, polyphenols, blah blah.. basically I'm gonna conquer the mountain that is modern industrial organic chemistry techniques and tools to create a cup of coffee.

You wouldn't overreact if you saw how Earth literally ran on the stuff. It is quite literally the worlds most used drug.

Plus these late nights going over Rune Smithing is hard. There is a lot of memorization involved.

Honestly speaking, the first week was not as bad as I thought but I am concerned for my sleep schedule. I'm sure continuous all-nighters are not healthy for my growing body. On the bright side, mother has noticed my plight and is giving me this type of potion called rejuvenation that keeps me going. So now my body can keep up but the day sometimes requires more brain power.

But I can't argue with results. Lookin at the accomplishments so far, the kids got their feet wet with my training, I started learning to wave a hammer at the forge, that sick woman who was named Sigrun has already improved, I produced the several medicines I planned to, I learned the basics of blacksmithing and Rune Smithing, and now it's the moon's day (Monday).

So do I but for the life of me I cannot remember. Brain is fried.

Tonight I plan on stocking the pharmacy and passing out tasks to my workers so that the store can open tomorrow. I told Hilda I would prefer her by my side rather than at the store where I wouldn't go to during the week without an emergency. She replaced herself with another accountant, someone named Reginleif.

Of course all my staff currently are Valkyries. Each one has a pretty good spread of talents. But there's one thing they all excel at, disguise. They are the queen's emergency forces and information network ready to move at anytime.

I'm going to have Sif and Nix work the store on my forging days for their practical experience.

I just need to train Sif to recognize diseases. I'm having Muninn act in concert with her so I can remotely diagnose patients with her while I'm forging.

In essence I'm forging, diagnosing patients and teaching Sif all at the same time. I'm knocking out three birds in one, pun intended.

During the day today, I intend to experiment with reinforcement in the morning, train Sif in Druidism and then spar with Nix in the afternoon.

Walking out my room I said, "Sigh.. we got a full day don't we Hilda?"

"Prince Loki, as you can guess, this week will be just as hectic as last week," Hilda sneakily appeared near me. She's my shadow at this point.

I began walking toward the courtyard, "I figured, anything new in the castle?"

Hilda nodded, "Besides daily political meetings, your parents are anxious to see results on the deal you bargained for. I've heard them trying out baby names."

I sighed. "I figured, well it looks like we best get to work."

Walking into the courtyard bright and early the kids hadn't shown up. I should start setting deadlines for them. Sif quite literally slept through the morning the other day.

Nix is always punctual and is usually here around 2 hours past Dawn.

I always wake up at the crack of Dawn so I expected him to not be here.

Sitting down I start going over the information in my head. Lightning strikes..

It reinforces a network of lightning in your hands so that every blow has a stunning effect.

Basically because of lack of medical science, my peers haven't realized that the network of electricity in one's hands actually leads all the way up to the brain.

This has allowed me to have a slight advantage in this regard. I can use my physics knowledge here to make me stronger than most.

Most people don't know this or few understand it but lightning is considered an electromagnetic wave. What else is considered an electromagnetic wave my Goddess?

And what organ is set to perceive light?

Your eyes yes, good job my Goddess!

Okay enough of my taunting. Yes your eyes pick up electromagnetic waves. They only pick up light in the visible spectrum.

So I thought what if I reinforce and tune my eyes using a lightning manual to pick up light all over the spectrum.

Infared vision, gamma ray detector, Ulraviolet vision, X-Ray vision, and radio which I'd have to set up with my ears instead.

I can set up my head to be able to exceed the senses of others. Of course I would have to be really delicate setting this up. This is a manual I have in the works. The simple manual I have developed based on lightning strikes I completed yesterday.

My thought process went like this: In essence lightning strike is just discharged electricity from my hands. What if I made my entire spine a large battery storing up electric charge for me to discharge at any moment while reinforcing the rest of the network so it wouldn't be damage from such a surge.

I'd say I have a cool secret weapon. I've also set it up so I can control the out put so that it's either a full numbing sensation to a taser if I put both hands on someone.

I'm planning to use this in conjunction with druid magic to make it a long range weapon at some point.

I'd be a walking taser gun.

There's also another benefit to this manual. CNS recovery. Because I'll be enhancing my nervous system using electricity, I'll end up training my nerves.

People that do competitive weight lifting should understand that one of the limiters of the human body isn't just muscle endurance. It's also your nervous system.

Beginning weight lifters all have slightly felt as if their arms might be lock in place after an intense bicep workout or the dreaded leg day making you feel like your walking with crutches.

That is a by product of your nervous system recuperating from pushing your muscles to the limit.

If I refine my nervous system, then all I would have to worry about would be healing my muscles which thankfully, the Life potion provides free stem cells to be injected anywhere my body needs them like more muscle cells.

This combination is a body builders or a power lifters dream. Unlimited work outs with no recovery necessary.

Now I don't intend on building a home gym in my clinic yet seeing as I'm too tiny, but this should surely help me for now with recovery from forging. And not only that, since electricity would flow more freely in my body, I would technically speed up my reaction time.

I call this lightning manual of mine Lightning Body. Super Epic sounding.

I intend to transform it to extend to pain receptors and senses like I discussed earlier, but that kind of delicate control is difficult and I need more research into manuals to pull it off without hurting myself.

Following my personal made manual, I start using my mana to reinforce my nervous system.

It took about an hour and this is the easy part based on lightning strikes. The next part is setting up my spine battery.

To do this I would turn my spine into a makeshift capacitor by making each vertebrae act like metal plates.

Batteries and Capacitors are very similar in use but one is chemical the other is pure electronic made up of parallel metal plates. I'm creating a hybrid of the two using the grey matter in my spine as my chemical holding energy and the vertebrae as metal plates that store energy between them.

Yea, but writing it down like this helps me understand myself what's going on. In essence, I've become a human battery.

By the time I completed my conversion into a transformer I notice Nix had just gotten here.

I smiled at him deviously, "You ready to start?"

He shivered for a moment and asked, "do I wanna know what's in it for me?"

"I brought this metal pole to demonstrate. Just hold it up", I told him.

He nervously resigned himself to his fate.

"Good now hold still", I said while putting my hand on the pole.

I smiled at him, "Feel anything yet?"

"Not yet what kinda of feeling am I expecting?"

I only need two connection points to discharge current and then return it back. Fingers count but if I did both hands I can put more volts at the same time. Basically if I didn't have two point on my target, the lightning would leave my battery permanently and I wouldn't be able to numb someone or taser them. It would be more of a one bolt shock.

I then amped up the voltage intending on using the taser.

I then saw Nix's shocked face.

"Ahhhh.. Oww stop it please."

Okay I lifted my arm relieving him from the pain.

Looking at the boy who just slammed on the floor. I laughed a lot. I made sure to not hurt him much. It was more of a stinging.

He then slowly got up and asked, "How did you do that?"

"Just something I worked on using reinforcement. You'll see when I teach you."

I then saw Sif walking in looking confused as to what is going on.

"What's going on here guys?"

Oh so pure, maybe it's time to teach her a lesson not to be so trusting.

"Hey Sif, hold this metal pole I want to show you something"

I noticed Nix fidgeting at this point. Now I feel bad I'll lower the voltage to be more of a numbing.

Don't remind me. You know going by that logic, I'll just use the same voltage as Nix on Sif.
