Diary of a Teenage Alpha

Big-hearted and witty, Samantha Kingsley is the Alpha's daughter who grew up learning to meet everyone's expectations. But Samantha isn't a pup anymore, she's in high school now, and is just about to discover that her life is written by her choices. Not by dreams, or prophecies, or even the moon goddess. This girl is going to protect the happiness of her pack and everyone she loves. Read her diary here. Updated every night. Mon-Sat Volume Synopsis VOL 1 It's the first week of school. Despite my failed attempt to make a friend, I somehow ended up surrounded by a handful of wolf classmates, got accepted by the human "cool" girls, and became a vampire's guard dog? VOL 2 I think I'm just starting to get the hang of school. From navigating school halls, new friends, vampires, and school clubs... Back home it should have been the usual drill, but things started shifting. And I urm...might have been messing around where I shouldn't. VOL 3 I had to miss a couple of school days this week due to my ah, long term bout of "anemia". It's been pretty intense at home. My alpha position was challenged, rogues burnt down our home, I rescued my first fight dog, discovered the Lorent's secret oracle, almost rescued my mate...and accidentally stumbled into my Alpha Dad's secret. VOL 4 My worlds collide as some members from my pack come to my school to sell concert tickets. And when Grandpa Alpha shocked us all by dying, my dad's family comes together to pay their last respects at the Night Forest Pack. VOL 5 It's February and the Vampire Queen is celebrating her birthday. Would Rebel's plan to escape work out? Meanwhile, I'm stuck in school dealing with high school drama, an evolving wolf, and a new human sister. In the Red Packlands, war nearly breaks out. (This might have been a very little bit my fault.) VOL 6 It's the week of Valentine's Day, but I've got a highschool play, Lorent drama, Vampire slaying training, and an underground army to deal with first. And then warlock weather threw an extended snowstorm at us. The whole of Green Packlands goes into lockdown - but what about Valentine's Day? VOL 7 Exams are a week away, and it feels like my time at Winderhill is really coming to a close. I'm trying to be a good student, but there are paparazzi camped outside my school, I ran with rogues (I'm shocked too), Maria just had to enter her dark cycle in school...My life is too exciting to study for exams. VOL 8 It's exam week, but I've got far greater problems brewing at home. The prophecies are merging. River's stone had unlocked warlock trouble, the rogue king has moved in, and then there's Uncle Louis' economical problems... one at a time. Just let me survive Code Black and figure out what's going on at Heller's first, and I'm sure everything else will work out somehow. VOL 9 Its the last week of school and the exams are over. Its like for better or worse, all the big bad things are over now. At home, My pack works to clean up the aftermath of the rogue war, the warlock's defeat, and Jude's betrayal. In school, everyone treats me more or less the same... like a freak. Meanwhile, our school play is in dire straights, and as the Last Hurrah's debut draws near, I get ready to say good bye to Winderhill for good. VOL 10 We follow Dad to the past to stop the traitor (AKA Jude), from ever stepping into our Packlands. It would've been a good plan too - if it didn't change EVERYTHING. Now, I can't help but feel my life is ruined. Nobody understands me. Is it selfish of me to wish none of this ever happened? Why does my world have to be so magical?

JUST SOME GIRL TALK

I had lunch with Lizzy and Savy.

There weren't enough benches today, but the warriors had brought extra picnic mats and Mum let us escape to the quiet of a nearby tree. Apparently, the warriors were here to guard against the off chance of stray gyaara (did they come this far out now?), and escort the families here on their excursion. There were a lot of new faces. Most of the residents now were widows and their pups from the Free Wolf Villages we had taken in.

"I made sure that my Harry assigned the unmated warriors to come." Laura had proudly whispered to my Luna mother's ears, "This is a good chance for them."

"Oh, my. So this is also a matchmaking session?" Mrs Willow covered her mouth, "Spring is in the air."

The three ladies shared a giggle before the Matron came back from settling the seating arrangement for the new residents.

Torque had helped set our mat under the tree of my choosing and Ben had brought our lunches over but refused to sit with us, "No thanks. I'm on duty."

Lizzy gave him a weird look, and then shrugged it off, "I never get what he's thinking."

The moment Ben left to join the other men, both girls leaned in closer.

"What happened back there, Sam?" Savy wanted to know.

"Yeah, why did Ben get punched?" Lizzy asked.

"Why do you sound so happy about Ben getting punched?" Savy asked.

"Did I sound happy?" Lizzy asked, and then she shrugged again, "Well, it's not everyday someone stands up to Ben."

I glanced over at Ben. He was standing around with Wolfgang and Torque. Wolfgang had his arms folded, Ben had his phone out. Ink returned to them, his arms loaded with their share of the food. I guess they were going to pretend nothing happened?

"So what happened?" Savy probed again.

"Nothing much." I shrugged, "I think its just a guy thing?"

Savy rolled her eyes at me, "Sam… think, please."

I tried to think, "I don't know… Ben was in a bad mood because of some deadlines or something, and then Wolfgang punched him."

"Yes, buy WHY?" Savy asked.

Why must there be a why? "I don't know… guys fight all the time…"

"Yeah, Ben probably pissed Sir Wolfgang off or something." Lizzy guessed, "I mean, pissing grown ups off is Ben's talent. I bet he said something really rude."

Well, yes, but Ben was usually saying something rude.

"Sam, what did Ben say?" Savy asked, "Come on, Sam. I know you know. You were upset too."

I was? I tried to remember, "It wasn't anything Ben said, I don't think he was ruder than usual. I was just feeling that Ben's having a tough time right now, but Wolfgang wasn't giving him a break."

"Never mind, Sam." Savy sighed when she realized I had no valuable information, "What do you think, Lizzy?"

"Hm…" Lizzy considered it further, "Well, I still think Ben probably just said something over the mindlink to offend Sir Wolfgang. I can't think of anything else…"

And then Lizzy realized that if Savy was asking, there could be something more, "Why? What are YOU thinking Savy?"

Savy had always been the more perspective one.

"I just think its strange." Savy shrugged and then nodded towards the guys across from us, "First, Sir Wolfgang is like the perfect gentleman. Why did he suddenly strike Ben? Second, have you ever seen Ben take a punch without hitting back? Third, look at them standing next to each other now… they're even helping each other hold their drinks."

It was true. While Ben was eating his sandwich with one hand and typing on his phone with the other, Wolfgang was standing next to him holding two coffees, one from which he drank and another for Ben. Every now and then Ben would pause and Wolfgang would comment over his shoulder at whatever he was typing. It almost looked like Ben was taking Wolfgang's advice for whatever he was typing.

"OMG, Sam. Don't stare. They'll know we are talking about them!" Lizzy hissed.

Oh, opps.

Savy covered her mouth, "Let's laugh it off and talk about something else."

So the three of us covered our mouths and pretended to giggle. Mostly, Savy and Lizzy giggled. I just covered my mouth and looked away. I was the alpha! I wasn't going to giggle.

"Oh man, that was embarrassing." Lizzy ducked her head and flushed a bit, "They probably think we were checking them out or something."

Oh… wait. WTH! I was the alpha! Why should I have to look like I was checking out my own wolves? Someone dig me a hole to hide in.

"They're probably used to it." Savy shrugged it off, "At least they won't suspect anything."

No, Savy. Maybe its okay for YOU, but I was the alpha! Alphas did not check out their warriors and giggle!

"Why are you turning red, Sam?" Lizzy asked.

"I'm not!" I immediately protested.

I snuck another fugitive glance at my wolves, and I guess Savy was right. I mean, I was sure they must have noticed, but none of them were currently looking in our direction even though they were on duty.

Essentially, we had just pretended we were checking them out, and they had just pretended they didn't notice?

I changed my mind- after digging a hole for me, shoot me and bury me in it. I don't know how I could face any of my Afternoon Entourage now.

"Look at THAT table." Savy whispered, "They're obvs checking them out too."

Lizzy and I worked very hard to look over without looking like we were looking over.

Like I was just curious who would check Ben out. Hahaha.

There was this one table with a handful of teenage girls. They looked around our age and maybe a bit older.

Lizzy groaned, "Oh great. More rabid girls."

I guess they didn't have much to choose from. Ben was the only guy in our age bracket to check out.

"Its because of the Fire Wolf." Savy said, "I heard that Wolfgang is now the next Ki."

The what now?

So thanks to Savy and Lizzy, I was updated on how Hotstuff was putting the heat on our pack's Charming Beta.

Team Ki loved Ki best for his sexy charm and gentle smile. He was the classy gentleman and a kind-hearted healer who could cook and make any girl feel like a princess.

Team Wolfgang loved Hotstuff best for his cold gaze and intellect. He was the regal Fire Pillar of Snow Moon Kingdom and his knightly demeanor would make any girl look like a princess.

Let's just categorize them under Team Crazy.

"I think those two are the handsomest wolves around for now." Savy informed me.

"But they're OLD!" I protested.

"Oh, Sam." Savy shook her head at me.

"Anyway, if you're talking about handsomest, wouldn't Bell win hands down?" I couldn't understand it. Surely anyone with eyes would agree with me.

Savy laughed behind her hand, "Oh Sam, no girl in her right mind would dare to be Team Luna Bell! That's like announcing to the world that she's crushing on her Alpha's soul mate!"

"Nope, actually there's one. I think Delta Felicity had declared herself Team Bell." Lizzy corrected.

Savy smiled, "I did say no girl in her right mind, didn't I?"

And we laughed because we all knew, Delta Felicity was crazy.

"Actually, Fluffy is beautiful too. Is there a Team Fluffy? Or a Team EJ?" They were really popular at Winderhill.

"Oh right. The blond delta in your special team... Ben says he's a pervert and we shouldn't ever talk to him." Lizzy informed me, "The red head delta is a player too."

Oh wow. Poor Fluffy. Poor EJ. How were they going to get a girlfriend with that kind of rep?

The girls at New Leaf Academy had been looking forward to the incoming new students - especially these two beautiful deltas from the Alpha Princess' Special Team.

Even after Ben's warning was spread throughout the student population, Angela's group had already announced that the sight of them around campus, even from afar, would console their broken hearts when Harvey graduated.

There were also rumors of other ways they were dangerous. The red head delta was our pack's #2 assassin.

"But that just adds to the excitement." Savy said, "Poisonous fruit is often the most tempting."

I nodded but was more excited to know, "Who's our #1 assassin?"

But it turned out that Lizzy and Savy only cared about good looking assassins.

"I heard no one had ever seen #1's face and lived to tell." Was all Lizzy knew, "It's probably classified, but Ben would know though... Wait, why don't you know this?"

Urm... Yeah. Except that I only recently learned of their existence?

"But living with an assassin… its like something from a manga. Actually, the entire harem thing is like a manga fantasy come to life." Lizzy said.

"It's not!" I was starting to get annoyed with this harem thing, "What kind of manga are you reading anyway?"

Lizzy laughed, "This and that."

"Anyway, I don't have a harem. They're just my Special Team." What can I do to erase this stain?

Lizzy obligingly changed the subject. Lizzy was nice like that.

"Dad said that every Delta in your Special Team has specialized skills and can KO grown warriors blindfolded with their hands tied behind their back." She cast a glance towards Torque, "I mean, some of them really look it, but it's kind of farfetched if the guy's just a highschooler."

"A highschooler holding a Delta rank or being an assassin is kind of farfetched too." Savy reminded us.

Actually, I really don't see how Torque or anyone in my Special Team could possible KO a grown warrior blindfolded with their hands tied behind their back, "Would they be fighting in a confined space (you know, so they could maybe body slam their opponents against the wall), or are they allowed to break free from the ropes and blindfold?"

"That's not the point, Sam." Savy was not amused.

"Maybe we could let them try it out." Now that I was thinking about it, it wasn't entirely farfetched given the right battle conditions.

"OMG, you're joking right?" Lizzy gasped.

I grinned, "Yeah, I won't be able to explain the dead warriors to Dad."

"Don't joke like that Sam!" Savy scolded.

I laughed, "Yeah, I'm just joking."

Savy gave me a weird look, "You know, your wolf is scary sometimes."

"Only sometimes, Snowball?" I couldn't help it, Boo liked Savy very much.

"Don't call me that!" Savy tossed her head.

"You know, if it's her wolf talking, I would let her call me anything she wants." Lizzy advised sensibly. Like I said, Lizzy was nice like that.

"Right, why's your wolf so unstable today?" Savy asked.

Was it? Was it very obvious?

"I probably just need to run." I brushed off Savy's concern immediately and flashed the two girls a wide grin.

"Girls!" Mrs Willow called us.

Mrs Willow, Laura, Mum and the Matron were standing around the teen girl table, "Come meet our new friends."

"Oh great." Lizzy rolled her eyes.

But since it was Mrs Beta calling, the three of us obediently picked up our lunches and trotted over to the table for Mrs Willow to introduce us.

"You girls look like you're having fun." My Luna Mum smiled when we came over, "What were you girls talking about?"

"Nothing much, Mum." Savy surprised me by taking the initiative to answer, "Just some girl talk."
