Diary of a Teenage Alpha

Big-hearted and witty, Samantha Kingsley is the Alpha's daughter who grew up learning to meet everyone's expectations. But Samantha isn't a pup anymore, she's in high school now, and is just about to discover that her life is written by her choices. Not by dreams, or prophecies, or even the moon goddess. This girl is going to protect the happiness of her pack and everyone she loves. Read her diary here. Updated every night. Mon-Sat Volume Synopsis VOL 1 It's the first week of school. Despite my failed attempt to make a friend, I somehow ended up surrounded by a handful of wolf classmates, got accepted by the human "cool" girls, and became a vampire's guard dog? VOL 2 I think I'm just starting to get the hang of school. From navigating school halls, new friends, vampires, and school clubs... Back home it should have been the usual drill, but things started shifting. And I urm...might have been messing around where I shouldn't. VOL 3 I had to miss a couple of school days this week due to my ah, long term bout of "anemia". It's been pretty intense at home. My alpha position was challenged, rogues burnt down our home, I rescued my first fight dog, discovered the Lorent's secret oracle, almost rescued my mate...and accidentally stumbled into my Alpha Dad's secret. VOL 4 My worlds collide as some members from my pack come to my school to sell concert tickets. And when Grandpa Alpha shocked us all by dying, my dad's family comes together to pay their last respects at the Night Forest Pack. VOL 5 It's February and the Vampire Queen is celebrating her birthday. Would Rebel's plan to escape work out? Meanwhile, I'm stuck in school dealing with high school drama, an evolving wolf, and a new human sister. In the Red Packlands, war nearly breaks out. (This might have been a very little bit my fault.) VOL 6 It's the week of Valentine's Day, but I've got a highschool play, Lorent drama, Vampire slaying training, and an underground army to deal with first. And then warlock weather threw an extended snowstorm at us. The whole of Green Packlands goes into lockdown - but what about Valentine's Day? VOL 7 Exams are a week away, and it feels like my time at Winderhill is really coming to a close. I'm trying to be a good student, but there are paparazzi camped outside my school, I ran with rogues (I'm shocked too), Maria just had to enter her dark cycle in school...My life is too exciting to study for exams. VOL 8 It's exam week, but I've got far greater problems brewing at home. The prophecies are merging. River's stone had unlocked warlock trouble, the rogue king has moved in, and then there's Uncle Louis' economical problems... one at a time. Just let me survive Code Black and figure out what's going on at Heller's first, and I'm sure everything else will work out somehow. VOL 9 Its the last week of school and the exams are over. Its like for better or worse, all the big bad things are over now. At home, My pack works to clean up the aftermath of the rogue war, the warlock's defeat, and Jude's betrayal. In school, everyone treats me more or less the same... like a freak. Meanwhile, our school play is in dire straights, and as the Last Hurrah's debut draws near, I get ready to say good bye to Winderhill for good. VOL 10 We follow Dad to the past to stop the traitor (AKA Jude), from ever stepping into our Packlands. It would've been a good plan too - if it didn't change EVERYTHING. Now, I can't help but feel my life is ruined. Nobody understands me. Is it selfish of me to wish none of this ever happened? Why does my world have to be so magical?

ALL IN A DAY'S WORK - NOT!

23 FEBRUARY, TUESDAY, CONTINUED

And I'm not sure why it surprised me, the way my wolves reacted when they saw Bell being lifted out of my car by my betas. I should have known, he was their luna, after all.

"F*** is right!" Torque shocked me when his slammed his fist into the palm of his other hand, "Who dares mess with our death god?"

Right, he was also that.

But WTH? Suddenly there was growling all around. The earlier buzz of indignation suddenly exploded into some kind of mass wolf surfacing movement.

"Hey, calm down Torque." Barry quickly tried to intercede.

"Should we shoot him before he loses it?" Fluffy asked with his usual smile, but I didn't get the feeling that Fluffy was joking.

"Did the Lorent wolves do that too?" Flynn asked darkly.

"Who do they think they are?" Torque roared.

"You didn't know?" Fluffy smiled at this team mates, "They are Luna Bell's own family."

Torque roared in earnest now. It was so loud, I covered my ears with both hands.

"Scary beta, you might really have to shoot him." Fluffy warned Ben. Fluffy was definitely enjoying himself.

"They've gone too far." Barry growled with clenched fists, "Are we really going to let them get away with that?"

Hey, weren't you the one who told Torque to calm down?

And then Delta Oran took a very reluctant step out of the car. I had to hand it to him, that was very brave.

"Hey! Delta Oran!" Neil was the first to greet the Lorent Delta, "Fancy seeing you here."

"Here, Torque! There's a Lorent here. You can chew on him!" Jax called out with his sauciest grin.

Neil grabbed Delta Oran by the shoulders, just to make sure he couldn't run away, "Looks like we got a hostage!"

Neil was large and strong, so he was shaking Delta Oran like a packet of chips.

"This is all a misunderstanding." Delta Oran tried to clarify despite everything.

"I'll show you a misunderstanding!" Barry rolled up his sleeve.

"Grrrrr...." Torque growled.

It was a good thing these guys had never left my front porch. Setting these guys loose on the Lorent household would be a hundred times worse than Ben's little tantrum earlier. Well, it turned out that even mass destruction was relative. In comparison, whatever Ben did wasn't such a big deal anymore. It could've been much, much worse.

"Stop it guys." I flared, "That's Ki's uncle. Be more respectful."

But given all the Lorent hate that was brewing, I felt I had better make it clearer, "Bell got hurt on his own. The Lorents were healing him. Delta Oran is here to help Ki and Bell heal, so don't any of you dare get in the way."

"Shhhh...." Cobra said.

"What?" I flared at him, "Use words."

"After." Cobra said, "How about afterwards?"

Omo! Was that supposed to be a joke?

The guys laughed, but mostly at Delta Oran's miserable expression.

"Let's give this Delta a warm welcome to Night leaf too!" Someone yelled over the din.

My wolves could be such bullies.

Poor Delta Oran.

And then Harvey made that half whistle whip sound with his lips again, like "Fwip."

He got their immediate attention. The men all stopped intimidating Delta Oran to regard my good beta's expression. Harvey's brow was still creased and his mouth flattened into a thin line, and it seemed that the warriors generally recognized that they were in trouble.

"As Alpha said, Luna Bell's injury was an unfortunate accident while he was outfield. The Lorents were healing him. He will be recuperating here. I'm calling a Black Out on both Luna Bell and Beta Ki's injuries. There will be no mention of either as of now. In the meantime, Delta Oran will be staying as our Alpha's guest. Anyone who threatens or harasses Delta Oran will have to answer to me. Do I make myself clear?"

"Yes, Beta!" The men answered. Neil let go of Delta Oran.

"And now, for your punishment. For making yourselves a nuisance outside the Alpha's house, all of you owe me 20. Deltas are doubled." Harvey informed them.

"Yes, Beta!" The men answered again. Well, most of them anyway.

"Thank goddess, we were demoted." Fluffy, the troublemaker smiled.

"Oh yes!" EJ Made a pumping action with his fist, "Hooray for demotion!"

"You two can do triple." Ben decided.

"Oh." EJ slumped immediately, like his shoulders were suddenly melting off. Hahaha. But nobody else was laughing. I don't think anyone dared atm.

"Scary Beta is so mean." Fluffy smiled his beautiful smile.

Ben pointed at Fluffy, "Triple, and exponentially tripled again for the next three days. Wipe that smile off your face."

Fluffy stopped smiling.

Fluffy actually looked seriously scary when he wasn't smiling, especially when his alpha wolf surfaced like that...

Oh, Fluffy's wolf was surfacing! I beamed, finally!

{Fun} Boo agreed. I knew staying at the alpha house would be good for the special team! Look, they were already bonding with the other pack wolves, Fluffy's wolf surfaced for the longest that I've seen, and Cobra actually told a joke. I felt like a proud mother.

Unlike Harvey, Boo didn't feel the warriors were being a nuisance at all. They were just being wolves.

Harvey raised his hand to regain their full attention, "But, for being the first to respond to the emergency call and seeing it to the end, dinner at the packhouse kitchen tonight comes with beer on my tab."

The guys whooped.

"Big brother beta is the best!" EJ cheered.

"Oh yeah?" Ben asked.

"I mean Scary beta is the best..." EJ squeaked.

"Heh. That's better." Ben nodded.

"...tard." EJ finished, because really, EJ didn't know when to cut his losses.

Pfffftttt... get it - "the best...tard?" Hahahahaha

Ben didn't find it as funny as I did, "You now owe me the triple exponential for three days too."

"Mou...." EJ whined, "But I'm bad at math!"

"Then just drop till you die." Ben shrugged.

"Alright then, listen up!" Hank decided to take over from there. "Get your bikes cleaned up and fall in behind the packhouse in 15. Move!"

"YES, DELTA!"

My hair flared at the surround-sound of warrior gusto.

A blast of engines and fumes later and they were gone, bikes and all. I guess the welcome party was over.

It was suddenly very quiet and I noticed the sunset colors streaked across the sky. When did that happen?

"I'll help Delta Oran take Ki and Luna Bell up." Harvey decided, Ki slung over his shoulder again, "You accompany Sam."

I could walk myself into my own house, really.

"Remember to order dinner for the Alpha family from the packhouse kitchen." Harvey reminded Ben, "Ki isn't going to cook for a while."

"Yah, yah. I got it." Ben's hand nudged the small of my back towards the door.

Delta Oran was carrying Bell princess-style again. He looked uncertain, but when Harvey said, "This way, Delta"," Delta Oran managed a jerky nod and followed Harvey across the porch to my tower's entrance.

"See you later!" I waved them off.

Well, at least that's cleared up! Okay... Bell and Ki are safe at home now and its going to be dinner time. All in a day's work!

Ben led me the five whole steps to my front door. Just as Ben reached for his keycard, the front door was flung open by my very own Mum. Her face was ashen, and she had a hand over her mouth, "Oh Sam! We have a problem!"
