Open Heart Surgery

As I lie down I decide to do my gacha, and I look over a notice that pops up when I go to spin.

I just agree and I see the promised metal inside along with a furnace you'd see in a cultivation novel and the diamond. After closing the room off with my shadow I take out the gem and read they systems message.

[A crystallization of a gods power, usually refereed to as god tears can give any item they are put on enhanced abilities. Consumption is not on the table though you could rip out our heart and put it in there. Our katana works as well]

So I'm putting it on the katana because I'd have to have brain damage to even consider ripping my heart out is what I would say if it wasn't almost certainly going to be a massive power boost. I look over to see Angelica lying down on the bed facing away from me.

"Could you do me a favor?" Angelica turns around excited.

"Sure."

"Close the room with shadows and close your eyes, don't open them no matter what happens alright?" She hesitantly nods and shadows swallow the room and she closes her eyes. I then put my endorphins to max just to be safe and I rip my heart out.

My heart looks different than normal, not having the fleshy overlap, it looks like a fruit I guess. The feeling of holding your heart is really something different. My heart is still beating like a normal one while connected to blue tubes. I then go to the bottom of the heart and I push the gemstone against it.

I feel a small bit of pain when the gem hits my heart and realize that this was going to shit. I look to my soul and find it to have what I'm assuming is superpowers being added to my soul. It hasn't really started yet and I'm not sure how long it'll last.

I then take out some energy balls and swallow them all while I grab the bedsheet and rip it before sticking it inside my mouth. As soon as I swallow the energy balls I feel extreme pain, around the same level of reaching golden core realm.

As I struggle to keep a hold of my heart I gently put it back in while it feels like all my flesh is being ripped away and then duct tapped back together without any break. I somehow manage to force my heart back inside my body and I patch up the wound with some shadow stiches and nanomachines.

What feels like an hours passes and I finally start to feel the pain subsiding. I take a few deep breaths threw my nose and I do a scan on my body. I somehow still have blood in my lungs after that experience, meaning it was probably only a second or so.

I then let the cloth go from my mouth as I cough out the blood all over the bedsheet. I feel my eyes getting heavy and I try to disable the feeling of drowsiness but nothing works. Before I fall asleep I decide to get Angelica aware.

"I'm done, you can open yours eyes." She clearly looks shocked at the development and the last thing I see is her rushing over before I close my eyes.

I open them again to find myself in a white space with a man and a wooden dummy. The man swing his sword vertically but the slash that appears on the dummy is a horizontal one. The man then takes his sword and cuts out a box and a void appears. He simply walks inside and it closes.

To say I'm confused would be an understatement. I mean I think I just watched a tutorial on the powers the gemstone gave but honestly I'm confused so I walk over to the dummy. I look over at my arm and find that it's flesh and bone again.

Curious I try to swing the sword towards the neck of the dummy and nothing happens. The dummy regenerates and I try again but this time something clicks and try thinking about swinging downwards instead of horizontally.

The dummy is split clean in two but it reforms and I keep trying the ability and find that I could make a slash or stab anywhere on the body as long as the new strike meets the originally slice at some point. For example I could slash vertically and the opponent blocks, I could imagine it being a thrust to their stomach instead.

I get handed a scythe and try using my fist as well. The scythe works the same way as the sword while the fists allows me to instantly change stance and when a punch lands I can follow up with a second one in the same location without needing to strike.

I try the same thing for changing stance with my sword and find that it also works. After being satisfied with the results and feeling like I got everything I needed to know I simply cut an horizontal slash and a void appears.

I go inside and find what looks like the universe shrunken down, it then fades and I regain my sight to find a blindfold over my eyes and Angelica clinging to the bloody bedsheet while a new one was below me.

I simply turn my brain off and watch as my vision fades again.
