71 Chapter 70

The day of the royal knight selection tournament arrived as all the magic knights participating stood in front of the wizard king.

" Welcome everyone to the royal knight selection exam. Now if all of you could look at the matchups that will soon be revealed. " Julius said as everyone looked at the board behind them.

" Hang on Julius. I will explain this. " Cannon fodder king clover said as he walked to the front.

" Reveal the matchups. " He shouted as everyone looked at the board.

They noticed it was much shorter than anticipated while looking at the multiple names underneath each bracket.

" This is a team competition exam where you must destroy your opponent's crystal while protecting your own.

The reason for this... Well... The reason... " He said as the other knights just looked at him.

Julius then explains and everyone had the same thought.

' Why isn't he the king? '

" Well, either way. Marx, show them the full teams. " Julius said.

Marx nodded as he showed everyone the teams for the examination.

'So I'm in the same team as Asta. ' Mimosa thought. Asta looked at her and nodded his head. Mimosa nodded as she walked over to him.

" Guess we are on the same team. " Asta said as he grinned.

" So do you know who our last member is? " Asta asked as he looked at the other knights and back at the name.

" He should be someone from the purple orcas. " Mimosa said.

" That's right. "

They looked at the voice who spoke. The dude then jumped to Julius and wrapped his arm around his shoulder.

The other knights were furious at his disrespect as Marx attacked him.

Zora just smiled a she went towards Asta and Mimosa.

" Names Xerx Lugner. " He said a she looked at Asta.

" Names Asta and that's Mimosa. Welcome to the team." Asta said.

" Are you not made about the disrespect I showed, shorty? " Zora asked.

" Well, I would have been, if it wasn't for the fact that I know that the wizard king didn't really mind your gesture. " Asta said calmly.

" Oh, so you can tell. " Zora said.

" Yeah. Also, we are a team. So try not to slow us down. " Asta said smugly.

" Oh, we have a smart guy. " Zora said with having a tick on his forehead.

Julius looked on as the teams were formed and mingled with one another.

" Oh good, you haven't started. "

Julius smiled as he looked in the direction of someone who he considers to be a friend.

" You said you went coming. Who forced you to come? " Julius asked.

" The author. " Elden said as he looked at Julius.

The other knights in the area were on guard. They could feel Elden's mana surrounding him. They didn't make a single move.

Yuno looked at him and clenched his fists.

' If I compare the first time I meet him to now, it shows he has grown. He is much stronger than before. '

Rill stared at Elden. He still remembered his fight with Yami that day.

' He wants even breaking a sweat when he faced Yami. He is even stronger than before. But who would win if those 2 fought? ' Rill thought as he looked at Elden and Julius.

" No one. I just needed a day off from training. So instead of that, I'm going to watch people beat each other up as entertainment. " Elden said.

" You are not wrong. " Julius said as that's basically what this is.

" Excuse me but who are you?! " clover king yelled. Elden and Julius looked at him. Elden didn't say a word as he just stared with a contempt look on his face.

" How dare you..." clover king said a she looked at the face.

" I am the king of the clover kingdom!! Tell me who you are right now or I'll have you dead at this very spot!! " he yelled.

" Oi Julius, is this really your king? " Elden asked.

" Yep. "

" Just take the position of king already. " Elden said. Julius looked at him.

" You already do all the paperwork to watch over the entire kingdom. Nothing would change even if you take the mantle of King. "

" You are right. It's just the fact I don't want to." Julius said.

" If you say so. " Elden said.

" By the way, for the kingdom, gather people who focus on the economic side of the kingdom. Make sure they can be trusted. Then all you will need to do is focus on the military side of things. " Elden said.

Julius froze for a moment as Elden's words came crashing down onto him. Marx was also confused for a second before he had the same feeling.

" Marx. Write that down. WRITE THAT DOWN. " Julius yelled in pure happiness as Marx already started writing.

" Enough of this. Tell me who you are or else!! " clover king said as he released his magic.

Elden glanced at him and turned his body towards him. It was for a single moment, but that was all it took.

The clover king fell to his knees in shock and fear. The other magic knights in the area unconsciously leaped back.

Julius just stared at him. He didn't move as he knew Elden was just making a statement. He won't do anything foolish.

" I am the king of the Diamond kingdom. "

" My name is Elden. "
