Chapter 49
" Kuku, well then. Let's start. I'm going to cut you up! " Jack yelled as he activated his magic.
Jack rushed at her as blades formed on the sides of his arms. Rose looked at the attack and said nothing.
" Death scythe!! " Jack yelled as he swung his arms.
A slashing attack went straight towards Rose. Rose looked at the blades and rushed towards them. As they approached her she dodged each of them nimbly and appeared in front of Jack.
She looked at Jack as he smiled like a maniac. Rose drew her sword aiming for Jacks's neck. Jack blocked with his mana blade and aided mana to his legs.
* boom *
The clash created a small crater below them as they stood still. Rose retreated as Jack sent another slash with his other arm.
Rose dodged it and retaliated. She slashed her blade towards Jack as a large wind blade flew towards him.
Jack saw it coming and enforced his legs with mana to dodge. He rushed to the left and then rushed towards Rose.
Grinning widely he then started spinning as he became a beyblade. He spun towards Rose who disappeared from her spot as Jack went past her.
Jack quickly made a u-turn as he rushed at Rose again. Rose saw it coming but said nothing as Jack cut her in 2.
Jack quickly stopped as landed on the ground.
' Afterimage. ' He thought as he knew that wasn't a clone.
He used enhancement magic on his entire body to make it stronger to resist her blow.
Rose appeared in front of him with a ball of wind in her hand.
* bam *
Jack's eyes widened as he grit his teeth from the pain.
* crack *
* crack *
He felt some of his bones break as blasted backward. He flew straight through some stones as he managed to stop himself.
" God damn that hurt woman!! " Jack said as he got up.
" I've been told that a lot. " Rose said as she remembered all the bones she's broken because of that move.
" Well, at least I wasn't the only one. " Jack said to himself as he got up.
He used enhancement magic on himself as he fought through the pain. Gathering mana in his hands, Jack swiped his hands in Rose's direction.
The ground got carved up as Rose disappeared, dodging to the right as Jack then followed her.
Creating blades on the side of his arms he swiped his arms towards her neck. Rose pulled out her sword and stopped the blade from reaching her.
She used enhancement magic on the blade to increase its toughness so Jack couldn't cut through it.
" Lunatic slash! " Jack yelled as he was in close range to Rose.
He then slashed repeatedly towards Rose who rushed towards him. Rose looked at the blades and dodged each one.
Jack noticed and rushed in towards her as their blades clashed.

Sparks flew as Rose's sword clashed with Jack's blades. Rose covered her sword in wind magic as she jumped back.
She then slashed repeatedly towards Jack. Jack looked at this and attacked as well.
" Lunatic slash. "
Jack slashed repeatedly as he kept slashing. The slashes meet in the middle as they canceled each other out.
Rose widened her eyes as she stopped and dodged to the left as Jack's slashes cut straight through hers.
' His slashes can adapt to a person's magic. If he faced Elden his slashes may even be able to touch him. ' Rose thought.
She then got focused as she looked at Jack. Jack looked at her as he readied his blades.
" Death scythe. "
Jack sent out 2 slashes that rushed towards Rose. Rose disappeared as She rushed towards Jack.
Using enhancement magic, he rushed towards her as well. He swiped his right hand towards her neck. Rose dodged and raised her left hand in a similar swiping motion.
Jack saw this and angled his body as he couldn't dodge in time.
* slash. *
Blood erupted from his shoulder, but Jack ignored it and attacked Rose with his left hand.
Rose saw this and bent her back to dodge as the blade went over her head. Lifting her left hand she aimed it at Jack.
A gust of wind erupted from her palm as Jack was pushed back.
* slash *
Using death scythe Jack cut through the gust of the wind. He then looked for Rose but couldn't see her anywhere.
' Where is she? I can't sense her. '
" Let's try to get her out here. " Jack said as he then repeated slashed in all directions.
His slashes went through all the stones as Rose dodged them and came out. Jack looked at her as she was already in front of him.
She appeared behind him as a large wound appeared on him. Jack spit out blood as the slash was seen on the front side of his body and the back as well.
However, he didn't stay down as quickly turned around to rush at Rose. He had a large grin on his face as he did so, however...
* thud *
He fell to the floor as he couldn't get up. He used his arms to get up and looked at his legs which were cut at the tendons.
" Kukuku... Guess a lost. " Jack said as he laughed.
" You are incredible. " Rose said with a smile.
" I didn't expect your slashes to be able to adapt to another person's magic. " Rose said.
" Thank you but I still lost. But I ain't losing again. " Jack said.
" We will see. " Rose said.
They then left the battlefield as they appeared next to the other captains.
" Yo Jack you lost. " Yami said bluntly as he looked at Yami.
" Oh shut up. I know for a fact you won't beat her. " Jack said.
" After all you never beat me before. " Jack said.
" Bullshit I beat you plenty of times. " Yami said.
They continued to argue as everyone watched. Elden then returned through the portal along with Rachael.
" So who needs to be healed? " Rachael asked.
" This loser over here. " Yami said as she waved at her and pointed at Jack.
" Shut it. " Jack said.
Rachael sighed as she healed Jack.
" Alright, then next match. " Elden said.
Drake and Mereoleona grinned as they got transported to the battleground.
