Chapter 7: Fast Recovery

Noon, at a University, at one of the room that was formerly a classroom. There was a man sleeping in a bed, he was covered in bondages in his arms and body, appearing to have a serious injury.

Since it was noon, sunlight passed through the windows which hit the injured man's face.

His face clenched up due to it, and began to slowly woke up. The man open his eyes and saw the unfamiliar and strangely very high ceiling.

A sudden headache striked the man, memories of his battle with the bronze-scaled worm was slowly going back to his head. Gradually the headache lessen and he just blankly stared at the high ceiling.

"Where am I?" Alex muttered to himself. That's right, this man was precisely Alex!

Knock! Knock!

Suddenly, he heard a knock coming from the door.

"Hey! Are you awake? If so please respond. I brought you food here!" A familiar voice came from outside the door. Alex instantly knew who it was.

"Jiang Shen? Come in!" Alex responded.

The door open, showing Jiang Shen carrying two trays of food.

"Hey, are you doing fine? I bet not, your injury was so severe after all. Here, have some food...but I guess you can't feed yourself. Ah! How about I feed you myself?" Jiang Shen offered Alex nicely, walking over at the table besides Alex's bed.

"Injuries..?" Alex strangely asked, he looked at the bondages wrapped at his left arm and strangely stared at it.

"It was so bad, you know? You're left arm was scorched, as if it was soaked in a fire for a long time, some of your bones was broken, luckily there was a doctor among the people..."

Jiang Shen continues to talk about the events that happened after Alex collapsed. However, right now Alex's attention is on something else.

'Scorched? Broken bones? Those sounds like very serious injuries and yet I...don't feel pain? Am I injected with anesthesia? But I don't feel that numbing feeling when injected with it.'

Alex reached out to the end of the bondage and began to remove it.

"If we didn't have those doctors — Hey! Wait, don't remove your bondage your wound isn't healed y....et?"

Jiang Shen saw what Alex was trying to do and tried to stop him but what he witnessed almost maked his eyeball popped out of his head.

After Alex take of the bondage, what you'll possibly see are some bleeding wounds and burns, since it was just a while ago that it was treated.

However, contradicting to that, the wounds and burns is not seen at Alex's whole body, it was as clean as new!

Which was clearly impossible! It was just treated a while ago, yet making a complete recovery just after a day! No one will believe this story!

If doctors saw Alex's current state they will be shocked to the core. It was simply that unbelievable.

"You...What happened to you? What happened to your wounds and burns? How did you make a full recovery in just a day?!" Jiang asked in shocked. Clearly not believing at what he is witnessing.

"This is...I also don't know..." Alex answered.

"What?! You don't know? How can you not know?! It's your own body, you know!"

Jiang Shen didn't completely believe what Alex said.

Jiang Shen suspicion was right on. Alex already know the gist of this bizarre situation.

'It must have been the music box's doing. Since it can heal even my sister's severe sickness. I'm not surprised that it can heal even serious wounds.'

Alex's guess was half correct and half wrong. The music box did help him recover quickly but not through healing, it was just a passive of the music box which enhance regeneration greatly.

If a healing skill of the box was used, it will take just a short moment to heal all of Alex's wounds, even old scars will heal.

Facing Alex's clueless expression, Jiang Shen gave up asking and released an exasperated sigh.

"Since you're completely healed you'll have no problem eating right? Here." Jiang Shen passed Alex's food tray appearing to be sulking.

Alex takes the tray and begans to eat.

"By the way, I've been meaning to ask, where are we?" Alex asked, Though he kind of already know where he was.

"Hmm? We are currently at the university, where the evacuation center is sited."

'I see, since this is the evacuation center, they should be here right? Cheff Jeff and Jean. I guess I should find them later.'

Alex was worried about those two since they were like family to the two sibling, they can't bear to lose them to monsters.

The two man silently finished their food, though mainly because they can't find topics that they can talk about.

Jiang Shen dropped his chopsticks, Alex also put down the spoon and fork.

Jiang Shen stands up and reached his hands on Alex.

"Give me your tray, I can just bring it at the kitchen with me." Jiang Shen took the two trays and began to walk out of the room, when suddenly he stopped and turned around.

"Now that I think about it, you haven't gave me your name yet." Jiang Shen said.

"Ah, did I? Well, my name is Alex. Alex Vorax."

"Alex huh? Welp, nice to meet you. Ah! Before I forgot, your clothes is over there, go change if you want, and also come to the Auditorium later, you're in for a surprise, look forward to it. Bye." Jiang Shen pointed at the clothes in the table after that he immediately gets out of the room, not waiting for Alex's response.

Alex looked at the clothes and the door with a certain thought. 'A surprise? I wonder what is it.'

He gets up from his bed and took the clothes, he began to take of his clothes and change it.

The clothes was just a normal t-shirt and trousers.

After finishing changing he gets out from his room. The room was at the very end of a hallway.

Right after getting out of his room, he heard a very familiar voice at one of the room.

Alex approched the room and took a look at the window of the door. What he saw surprised him a little.

"I didn't expect to meet you this soon, Jean"
