Just after Alex muttered the word, suddenly a blue screen popped up in his face.

"What is this? Iron Body and Sixth Sense? When did I get these skills? And these numbers... How am I supposed to estimate my strength with just these? Hey, Miss Goddess, could you also explain these to me?"

Alex was confused about the way it assessed a person's strength, so he resorted to asking the All-knowing lady.

"Well, it can't be helped that you are ignorant of these kinds of things, so this lady will help you, ignorant one." The lady wore an extremely proud expression.

'Ignorant one?' Alex was speechless.

"Now, to easily explain how the status numbers work. A normal person has a 5 in strength. If you have 10, that means you have double what a normal person's strength should have. Regarding your skills, you can obtain one if you're extremely desperate for it, and if you are innately born with that skill."

"Try pressing one of your skills." the lady said.

"Press it? Okay."

Alex pressed one of his skills, the Hardened Body. After he pressed it, another blue screen popped up in front of his face.

"Hardened Body" (Passive)

- Your heart pumps incredibly fast, causing your blood to flow rapidly throughout your entire body, resulting in the hardening of your skin. This grants an additional 10 points to Defense.

"Wow! So it's a description of the skill, that's cool!"

"So cool, right? I can give you more information if you want," the lady asked as if tempting a dog.

"Really?! I want it! I want it!"

The lady further gave Alex other features of the Personal Window.

Now that they were getting close, Alex didn't miss the chance and asked about all the things he was curious about. What was the voice that was ringing in his head? Why is she not letting Aisha go out yet? Information about the Seven Mother Monsters that invaded Earth. And all the things he should know after the evolution of Earth.

The two conversed until sunrise.

After absorbing all the information, Alex asked the lady his final question.

"Why are you telling me all of this? This information is very valuable, right? Why me?" Alex looked at the little lady.

The lady looked down a little and took a deep breath.

"Alex, I may look fine on the outside, but I'm not. The very evidence of that is my current appearance. I don't even have enough energy to maintain this form. I've spent all of it on healing your sister. In a short time, I will vanish."

"What!? Why didn't you say so earlier?" Alex was shocked, he just gained a new friend but she will just vanish like that.

"Are you worrying about me? That's cute." The lady chuckled at Alex's flustered face.

"This is no time for jokes! Tell me what I can do for you! I'll do anything!"

"Really? You'll do anything?" The lady asked.

"Yes, I'll do anything for you. Just tell me what you want!"

"Then I'll take advantage of your kindness. You must promise me, Alex. Don't you ever let your sister go out, do you understand? It will do more harm than good. I made you the temporary owner of the relic so you must protect it at all cost. You must promise me, okay?" The lady sternly said to Alex.

Alex saw that the lady's arm was disintegrating. The lady noticed it too but didn't pay it in mind and only looked intensely at Alex.

Alex understood the meaning of the lady's gaze and responded.

"I promise, I will protect my sister. That's a given."

"That's good." The lady said in a weak voice.

The disintegration already reached half of her body.

"Miss Goddess.." Alex looked at the lady with concerned eyes.

"Call me <@#@$@ >." The lady said.

"What? Can you say it one more time?" Alex didn't hear the latter part of what she said so she asked her to repeat it.

After hearing what Alex said, the lady's eyes saddened a bit.

"I guess it was a useless attempt."

"Remember your promise, Alex. Keep her close to you at all times."

The disintegration has reached her neck.

"We will see each other again Alex, however you have to work hard for that to happen. I know you'll do your best since I know you are that kind of person."

The lady's remaining body began to disintegrate until there was nothing that remained. Only a deafening silence stays in the surroundings.

Alex stared at the empty space for a long time, remembering their short but precious memories together.

"It was a short time, but it was fun. Thank you for saving my sister and for everything. May you rest in peace." Alex muttered.

An hour passed, and during that time, Alex mourned for the Lady. After mourning, he woke himself up and regained his mind.

"Now, since I'm all alone, I need to be extra careful. And there is just a little time before the Mother Worm's eggs start hatching. The first thing to do is to find a shelter."

Alex formed a plan and the first thing he thought was to find a shelter. Another benefit that a shelter can bring is to have a base to prepare for the fight against the monsters. Hence he thought of finding a shelter first.

"Ugh, I need to adjust to this new world, If I puke every time I see a corpse, those monsters will kill me without mercy."

On his way out of the ruins, the numerous corpses of the residents and patients in the hospital makes Alex's stomach churn.

Alex exited the ruins of the hospital. Just after getting out of the pile of rubble, he heard the voices of people.

"Everyone don't panic! We are from the Police! We assure you you're safe!"

In the middle of the road, a middle-aged-looking man is wearing the uniform of a police officer. In front of him is a line of people. These bunch of people currently have dark expressions.

"Assure our safety!? I was just about to go home to my family when that damned monster rammed into my house killing all my beloved ones! I don't need you to protect me! I just need revenge! I want to kill that monster!"

A man wearing a suit shouted, his face was drenched with tears and his eyes were bloodshot red, either from his intense hate or from his cries.

Alex looked at this scene and raised his eyes.

"This..are they survivors? If I remember correctly this road should go to a university. Did they set up an evacuation center there? If they did then I should join them."

Alex thinks for a short while and makes his decision. He walked up to the last in the line and sneakily joined them.

"Hey, 'lad..."

Suddenly, a weak and coarse voice called for Alex.

"Hmm?"

Alex looked beside him, the weak and coarse voice that called him was an old man, this old man's shoulder had a deep cut covered by bandages. The bandage was red because it was drenched in blood.

'What a horrible injury.'

Alex walked close to the old man and said. "Should I help you change the bandage?"

The old man looked at Alex in slight surprise.

"Oh, what a kind young man. Can you do that please?" The old man said to Alex.

"Of course."

Alex reached for the clean bandages and started to change the old man's bandage wrapped in his wound.

"That's right! Those bastards devoured my family and friends like it was a delicious meal. Kill them!!"

"Those bastards ate my left arm, how am I going to live like this!? Kill them!"

"They also ate my whole family. I want revenge!"

Numerous enraged voices echoed in the surroundings, their eyes bloodshot because of their deep hatred.

Alex looked at what was happening in front of the long line. Even though there was a half hundred meters distance between the end and front of the line, the furious shouts of the people even reached his place.

"This...they're completely blind by their hatred."

Alex looked at the middle-aged man wearing a police uniform.

"He seems to be the one who leads this evacuation rescue. Will he be swayed to what they say or..?"

Alex stared deeply at the middle-aged man, if he makes a wrong decision, he'll immediately leave this group and go off on his own.

He deemed that following a foolish leader will only gets himself be killed.
