Chapter 11: Level Up!

"I now establish a new Order! You all will have to follow this Order absolutely, or else there will be consequences!"

The Mayor's voice echoed at the whole room. The crowd was too stunned, the whole Auditorium was silent.

Alex and Jiang Shen were also stunned.

"So this was what he was planning all along, making that offer and gathering his supporters..." Jiang Shen said. His furious eyes were looking at Mayor Rufus.

"You know that he was planning something?" Alex asked. If they knew that he was planning something, why didn't they move?

"Yes, we already knew that he had something working on outside our vision, even before this apocalypse happened.."

Jiang Shen hesitated to say this but Mayor Rufus was already making a move. If he didn't show his sincerity, Alex might consider siding with Mayor Rufus, which will be the worst thing that can happen!

"You mean he already knows that the apocalypse was going to happen?" Alex was shocked. There was only one possible way to know that, it was if an entity that lives in a relic like the Goddess told him pieces of information regarding the upcoming apocalypse.

But how was that possible!? Does that mean that Relic was already on this world even before the Apocalypse started!?

"Let's think about this later. For now, we have to deal with what's happening right now."

By this time, the messenger who approached Jiang Shen already informed Mayor Rufus about Jiang Shen's rejection of the offer.

'It's a shame, Jiang Shen, we could've ruled the world together. Oh well, the plan is already proceeding successfully even without you. This is all for that person.' Mayor Rufus thought, his face smiling in anticipation.

In a corner, a person was sitting there alone, spectating the whole situation. He wore a satisfied smile. However, his smile froze when he saw Alex, particularly the white ring that he was wearing.

The person looked carefully at the white ring, then a creepy smile appeared on his face.

"What a good luck! I can't believe I will encounter a relic here...Seems like I need to change the plan a bit."

The person began to tap the armrest of the wooden chair that he was sitting on. It looks like he was thinking.

Alex felt that someone was staring at him, he looked around but didn't see anyone.

"Am I imagining things?" Alex scratched his head.

"What's wrong Alex?" Jiang Shen saw Alex fidgeting around, so he asked.

"No, it's nothing. By the way, won't you stop whatever is the Mayor planning to do?" Alex asks. Even though the Mayor was doing whatever he liked right now Jiang Shen was not making a move. He thought it was strange.

"My situation right now is like a rabbit trapped in a lion's den. I can't do anything for now." Jiang Shen explained.

'I see. I guess that means that the policeman is already on their side, but how? He can't possibly bring all of them on his side in just a single night...' The more Alex thought of this, the more that he felt like his suspicions were right.

A suspicion that a Relic was assisting him!

Time passed, Mayor Rufus further elaborated on the things that he wanted to do after establishing the new Order.

The more that Alex and Jiang Shen listened, the more they were dumbfounded.

The first thing that Mayor Rufus mentioned is that he wanted to demolish the current political system and establish a monarchy, in other words, a Kingdom!

Which will be ruled by a King, which is none other than Mayor Rufus. In this kingdom the words of the King were absolute! The words of a normal citizen don't matter!

From then on, Mayor Rufus continued to speak about the things that he wanted to do, the longer he went on the more he was getting absurd. He also wanted to form a Rank and create an Order of Knights and so on.

The crowd was silent after listening to Mayor Rufus. They didn't dare to voice out anything, if they did they felt like the police who were staring at them with a death stare would really kill them. They were also afraid of the consequence of disobeying the Mayor.

"Anyone who disobeys will be thrown out of this place. Never be able to come back!" This was the consequence.

Hence they were afraid, no one wants to become food for those worm monsters right?

Alex was looking at the many policemen who surrounded them. They were strange, their presence was pitch black, and it was as if their own presence was swallowing themselves.

'It must be the work of that Relic.' Alex deduced immediately after looking at them.

"Let's go, Alex, it seems like he's done so we should go immediately." Jiang Shen said.

The two of them left the Auditorium. The other people also began to leave, with worried expressions on their faces.

Alex was on the way to his room, and he and Jiang Shen parted ways, it seemed that he needed to report about what happened to his Uncle.

'I wonder, who is his Uncle? Hm? That's...'

When Alex was going to his room he passed by to the room where Jean was molested. He was getting angry remembering it.

"I wonder how are those guys doing, Jiang Shen said he'll take care of it but let's take a look for a bit..."

Alex went into that room but what he saw stunned him a little.

The whole room was clean, there wasn't even a single blood stain anywhere. And the crack that he made on the wall also disappeared, it was as if it was new.

Nobody will think that a fight just happened here earlier. Though I don't know if you can even call that a fight.

"Jiang Shen works fast!" Alex praised.

After observing for a bit he went back to his room. After coming in he immediately laid on the bed.

"Haa...So much happened in just a morning. Right, I haven't checked my stats for a while. I killed many monsters so I should've leveled up a bit. Windows."

Alex muttered. A blue screen appeared.

Alex continued to play with his stats when a very familiar voice suddenly echoed in his head.
