Currently suspended. Will I return? I dunno. Eguru, a 21 year old man suddenly gets transported into another world after being in a void for 700 years. Not knowing what he was supposed to do in that new terrain he soon enough figured out he was what higher beings called a "Devourer". Their job was to devour corrupted worlds and reset their history. However, this journey turned out to be... Note: The cover has been "made" and edited by me. I only took two artworks and merged them together.

A browser and a story

The next day Eguru woke up rather early. Verzo was still asleep and the sun was just about to rise past the horizon. He admired the beatiful sky for a while before getting up. He was thirsty.

Like the dumbasses they are though, they haven't brought any more water with them even while they were near a river. Food was not really a problem since they would arrive at Akuta in a few hours anyways but being dehydrated was not something Eguru wanted to experience for longer. He hasn't really drunk anything yesterday either which only made it worse.

Looking at his phone he noticed Lia had texted him.

Lia: Good morning Eguru, did everything go well? I hope you didn't have to wait too long for Arya to arrive."

She texted him at 5 am. It currently was 6:32. 'Does she always have to get up that early for work?...'

In a rather short message he replied to her and had something else in mind now. 'Do they have a browser here? Something like firefox or google...?'

After searching through all the apps he indeed found one shortly after. It was called Apex and apparently it was the "world's most reliable and fastest browser". At least he received this text when he opened the app.

Its design looked a lot like opera's and it also had a built in vpn.

The first page showed a lot of recent news and events so he decided to take a look at them since he never heard or read any news in those weeks he spent here in this world.

''Important News: Attack on Biurde annihilated the entire city. Beasts destroyed everything and about 80% of the people residing in the area died. The military was already dispatched to take care of the threat and should be done within 7 days. Please restrain from coming near Biurde.''

Eguru didn't know where that was but those were some horrible news. What kind of monsters would just wipe out an entire town like that?

He scrolled further. ''Richest man alive invested 2 billion into the invention of ground-vehicles. He claimed that everything regarding that matter was now his and 20% of each vehicle sold in the future would be his money.''

''Five-hundred stundents killed by a school schooter in Nyrda'', ''Women on social media spread hate towards men: KAM is now main topic of discussion and should not be taken lightly.''

The list of news went on. Eguru continued reading all kinds of stuff until Verzo finally woke up. The first thing they did was scout for water and food. Verzo kind of knew where to go as he has been in this area a lot but still had trouble remembering everything.

Around half an hour later they found what they needed and continued their trip to Akuta which would only take them a few more hours.

Soon enough Eguru had to pee but had to hold it in since they were on an open field and no bushes or forests were around. It wasn't really urgent anyways.

A rather random thought came into Eguru's mind. "Kind of a weird question but, what do you think the reason of me being here could be? I mean I just randomly appeared in this world."

The other man shrugged. "I don't really know but I've once heard a story about humans called ''Devourers'' from my parents. They told me quite some time ago but I still remember the majority of it."

Clearing his throat he continued to speak. "From what they told me ''Devourers'' were human beings which go through a certain trial and if they pass, such were transported into another world." - 'Yeah that happened to me...' Eguru rolled his eyes.

"What do you think is the reason for their appereance?" he asked as he kicked a pebble lying on the ground. He continued kicking for as long as possible. "Yeah yeah I'll continue. So. ''Devourers'' job or duty was to ''devour'' worlds that were full of malice and corruption. You know what I'm talking about?" - "Yes."

"Good. Those beings somehow have an unbelievable power and if they manage to get powerful enough they're able to destroy entire planets. But it's not just that they destroy them", Verzo stopped for a second.

"What do you mean?" Eguru asked as he waited for him to continue. "By destroying worlds they also reset everything that has happened and the planet is back to its origin. It's like making a planet go back in time by millions or even billions of years."

'I see... So if what he tells me is true his parents might have been Devourers or had contact to them. But why is this world still intact? Did they die? Or did they purposely not destroy them? It wouldn't make sense as the system would probably force them to do so...'

Endless thoughts cycled through his mind. "What would you do if I was indeed a Devourer?"

His friend only laughed at his question. "I'd either have to kill you or live with it."

Eguru unfortunately lost the pebble he kicked as he missed it but on the other side they could already see Akuta.

It only was a matter of time until they arrived.
