Dilemma

"Sis, what's wrong? You look restless?" Kyle asked his sister Anna who just returned to the mansion.

"I am fine, Kyle. Just tired" Anna lied as she smiled forcefully. The last thing she wants is to make her brother anxious.

Truth to be told, she is confused right now.

The postmortem reports affirmed that it's natural death however, deep inside her heart she couldn't help but believe that there is something more to it.

If this is the case, she couldn't bear to leave her brother in the shadows of danger. He is, afterall, the only closest person and most important person in her life right now.

"In that case, why don't you sleep sis? I will later bring your lunch upstairs" Kyle offered with a smile, when he saw her dazed expression.

Anna returned his smile but she could notice his red eyes. She can't blame him for that as he is attached to their grandparents more than her.

Meanwhile, Kyle felt his eyes instantly tear up again. Now, with their grandparents gone, his sister is the only one whom he could trust and rely on. But she felt distant somehow…

He couldn't help but remember all the memories he had with his sister. All these years, he missed her so much that he couldn't help but crave for her love and affection.

When their parents disappeared he was just a small kid. His sister was the one who took care of him and she was everything to him and the same applied to her as well.

They were very close to each other and they parted only when Anna left the house after the drift with their grandfather. Even after that, they have remained in touch but a few years back, she started to detach herself even from him.

"Hmm..I will do that, pumpkin. Why don't we eat together in my room like in the old days?" Anna asked him as she ruffled his hair affectionately. She could see the despair and pain in his eyes and it made her heart ache.

She knows that she has her fair share in inflicting that.

"Where is Ria, by the way?" Anna questioned him as she tried to distract him.

"Sis? She went to our uncle's house. He wanted to talk about something important, it seems" Kyle answered as he clenched his fists.

He felt angered that everyone is acting normal even after his grandparents death. No one is mourning and it looks like nobody's affected by it. His greedy relatives are after the company and his grandparents positions while his sister has not even shed a single tear for their grandparents.

However, he doesn't blame her for that as no one knows what made her cold and stone hearted like this. No one has the right to judge as they don't know the whole story.

Anna didn't linger anymore and went upstairs to the guest room. Although she has her own room in the mansion, Ria is using it as she is the 'eldest miss' of the Danvers family.

After thinking the whole night, Anna decided to stay here until everything returns to normal. At first she was in a dilemma but after seeing her brother who seems pretty shaken by their grandparents death, she realized that he needs her now.

It is just like how it had been a few years ago.

Before their grandparents found them, Kyle only had his sister Anna. Now, it's the same. The only person he could trust and rely on is only her.

Furthermore, it also seems like someone is after Danvers' family. So, she couldn't leave him in danger. She has lost enough already. She can't bear to lose her brother as well.

The only thing she is worried about is her identity. She can't risk exposing her identity as the eldest miss of Danvers family.

Her work demands confidentiality and secrecy.

So, there is no way she could take over the company. It will burn down all the effort she put in all these years.

After a few hours…

Ria came back with a huge frown plastered to her face.

She never thought that people, the ones who were very loyal and close, would also start showing their true colors after Mr. Danvers and Mrs. Danvers died. Human's greed is really dangerous!

"Where are Anna and Kyle?" she asked the butler as soon as she entered the house.

"Young miss, they are in the guestroom. Young master cooked lunch for Ms. Anna and they are waiting for you upstairs" he answered.

Although he never met Anna till now, he could see that their young miss and young master are incredibly close to her.

"Thank you uncle" Ria thanked the butler and hurried to the guest room.

She just came back from the main residence of the Danvers family where Mr. and Mrs. Danvers used to reside. Later on they shifted to this mansion but the old residence is the family's meeting zone.
