Devil's Luck[Arc 5: Worlds Apart]

Zenkichi Hitoyoshi is a young man, destined to be chained by fate in the early story of canon. He was a man without ambition, drive, will and talent to become something great. Well, that'll soon change. For better, or for worse. .... AN: Alright, let's do this one last time, probably. Here's another Medaka Box fanfic that I hope it'll get to a hundred chapters before I drop it, or not? It depends on life really. And positive comments and reviews, I don't really care much of power stones(tho, that doesn't mean you can't...) but positive feedback on my work really inspires me more to write. Want to check out my pa-treon and be ahead of your fellow WN kin? Well here's the link: pa–treon.com/FroztDouluo *Just get rid of the dash. Edit: I just changed it to Gilgamesh because... Zenkichi basically almost resembles him at this point(I didn't planned for this happen) Schedule and the amount of chapters I'd be popping out? Tuesday and Thursday(UTC +8), 2–3 chapters a week(it's usually just 2 chapters because I'm slow at making anime related stories).

Chapter 84: All Fiction

*Rumble*

"What the...?" Everyone in the freedom club immediately paused, feeling the room they were in quaking. Kikaijima worriedly looked at the others and asked, "Was that an earthquake?"

"No...that... That was something else." Kirigakure muttered, eyes narrowing, her drunken stupor gone and replaced with a sense of urgency.

'This feeling... it's a demon's power! But its presence isn't emitting the same level of malevolence a usual demon would emit.' Her eyes widened, she subconsciously put her hand on the red tattoo above her assets; the strange marking emitted a weak purple light.

'A nephilim! Satan's son is here!' She had to go find the source of that demon power and find the ninth prince of hell and–

"Hm. I don't think that was an earthquake," She was broken out of her thoughts as she heard one of her students, the strange little one named Shiranui, reply to Kikaijima's question. "it was...a little unnatural, if I'm quite honest."

"True," Nabeshima added in, looking out of the window, her pupils turned vertical like a cat's and her vision zoomed a few miles at a few birds that suddenly fell down from a tree. "also, the animals seemed to be in a panic."

"Isn't that normal? During earthquakes I mean." Kikaijima questioned, her eyebrows furrowing.

"No, I think there's something more to it," Nabeshima continued, looking down at her trembling hands.

'My cat instincts are acting up. There's extreme danger nearby and if I'm feeling this correctly...' She turned her gaze towards the door.

'It's towards the direction where both Zenkichi and Medaka went.'

'Fuck! I almost forgot about the kids.' Kirigakure inwardly swore, her eyes widening with worry as she quickly pulled back her hand.

Although taking care of the demon problem was important, keeping innocent people safe took precedence. Especially when they're her students!

'Should I knock them out with a sleeping spell?' She thought about it for a moment before shaking her head.

'Kikaijima would probably be the only one affected, both Nabeshima and Shiranui are people with special or abnormal abilities. The latter, especially, is the most terrifying one.' Kirigakure knew that using magic on them would likely be ineffective or even provoke a stronger reaction. She had to find another way to get them out of harm's way.

"Alright, listen up," Kirigakure spoke with a sense of urgency, grabbing their attention. "There's something dangerous happening, and I need you all to stay here and stay safe. I'm going to go check on Zenkichi and Medaka."

"What? But sensei, we can't just sit here!" Kikaijima protested, concern etched on her face.

Kirigakure placed a hand on the girl's shoulder, her eyes locked onto hers. "I understand your concern, but trust me, I can handle it. I'll be back as soon as I can, but for now, I need you all to trust me and stay here."

Kikaijima and Nabeshimaexchanged uneasy glances but nodded in agreement, while Shiranui just casually ate some cupcakes, seemingly unbothered by all of this.

Although they've mostly known her as a drunkard but as she stood before them with a serious demeanor, they couldn't help but have trust on their teacher's judgment.

"Please be careful, sensei," Kikaijima voiced her worry, her eyes filled with concern.

Kirigakure smiled reassuringly at him. "Don't worry, I'll make sure nothing happens to them. Just stay safe here, alright?"

With a determined look in her eyes, Kirigakure quickly exited the room, leaving her students behind.

Without saying a word, she raised her right hand up, many small purple glowing balls of light then gathered around her; forming into numerous kanji letters.

Kirigakure narrowed her eyes and began to mutter some words.

"Great Barrier. Soundless Area. Life Concealment."

Every time she muttered those words, the numerous purple glowing kanji letters in the air let out a bright purple light and rushed towards the Freedom Clubroom, soon encasing it completely in a purple barrier.

After finishing all that, she took a deep breath, turned and ran.

'I have to hurry!' Kirigakure's body was then covered with a purple aura, increasing her speed, making her look like a purple flash of light.

She followed her senses, guiding her towards the source of the disturbance. As she raced through the corridors of the school, her mind focused on one thing - protecting her students and reuniting with Zenkichi and Medaka.

....

'Tch, no use either huh.' Zenkichi clicked his tongue as he kicked the flying huge screw towards the window, while his eyes fixated on the smiling Kumagawa who was completely bathed in blue flames, his wounded body and ragged clothes made it seem like he was on the verge of death.

Zenkichi didn't pull his punches, literally, mixing his fists with his divine demonic flames and striking at Kumagawa relentlessly. Despite his best efforts, Kumagawa just won't go down as a moment later, Kumagawa smirked, snapped his fingers, and the flames, his wounds and ragged clothes vanished, leaving him unscathed.

"You really are persistent, Zenkichi-kun," Kumagawa chuckled, his dark-blue eyes gleaming with amusement. "But no matter how hard you try, you can never kill me." as he said the last part, it seemed to carry a hidden meaning.

But Zenkichi didn't notice it.

"I can see that, bastard." Zenkichi spat, patting down his uniform. "Didn't you say that you were going to explain your strange ability in a super villain monologue the next time we meet? Well, it's our second meeting."

'Even when I'm looking at him with Divine Reflection as he "fixed" himself of his injuries as if reversing time, I'm still not picking up anything.' He glanced behind him in worry of Medaka and was surprised to see what was happening.

"Ugh... You two..." Medaka groaned, her face planted on her wonderful chest as it squished on the ground, both Kagamaru and Shibuki holding her down by her arms. But the most horrifying thing about this is that they crushed her arms to the point where the bones were protruding out of her skin. Blood pooled around her and her face was contorted with pain.

Zenkichi's eyes widened in horror. "Medaka-chan!" he shouted, rushing towards her with fury in his eyes. But before he could reach her, Kumagawa appeared in front of him with screws in each hand and the world around him started to...distort.

'What's this? It's like the entire room is twisting out of shape! Is his ability capable of influencing the area around him?' Cold sweat dripped down Zenkichi's forehead as he paused in place and directly swung a punch at Kumagawa, but it was stopped by the sharp tip of the two large screws.

'High speed regeneration, resurrection, conjuring a seemingly endless amount of large screws out of nowhere, looking like he reversed time and affecting the area around him...' Zenkichi let out a yell, bursting out in blue flames, the intense heat burned through the air and void around him, melting the iron screws in an instant.

He unhesitatingly went to punch Kumagawa's jaw with all his might; The Iron, Devil Style, Weighted Words, Magic, Divine Authority, and Demon Power.

Kumagawa was sent flying through ceiling and kept flying up, up, and up until he burst out of the school rooftop.

And yet despite sending him flying he was a rocket, Zenkichi's vision of the world around remained distorted until everything around him turned dark.

No, it wasn't that everything around him turned dark. He looked down and realized that, he couldn't see. He had become blind!

'Don't tell me his ability is...' He broke out with even more cold sweat.

"Hahaha. You're truly ridiculous, Zenkichi-kun. Not only did you mangle my body to the point I became only blood and meat, you actually sent me flying to the moon!" Kumagawa's voice entered Zenkichi's ears. Zenkichi clenched his fists, the flames of his divine demonic power flickering around him.

But as much as he wanted to go on a rampage, they had Medaka as their hostage. So, closing his eyes, he forcibly calmed down his anger.

"Where are you, Kumagawa?!" He yelled through gritted teeth, using Reading Mind to locate where Medaka and the others were.

He could... feel where they were, all except for Kumagawa. Thinking that he was just transmitting his voice through his ability, Zenkichi took a step forward to beat the two and rescue Medaka.

"Ugh!"

Suddenly, he felt something hit his face, causing him to stumble back.

"Aha! Did you really think I wasn't here?" Kumagawa's voice rang out in his ears once more, sounding amused. "Oops, sorry but I did what that bald hero did in that certain episode and went back to earth. That was pretty fucking cool, not gonna lie. Though it did cause me to destroy half of the city, burning and debris scattered all over."

"Kumagawa..." Zenkichi clenched his fists so hard that blood dripped out.

Kumagawa's nonchalant tone of voice sounded in his ears once more, "Ah, don't worry though. You asked what my skill was, right? It's called All Fiction, you can call it something like warping reality but basically, it makes anything into "nothing". So the damage that, you caused for sending me into the moon? It's all gone. So don't feel guilty about it anymore, everyone's alive and well after all."

'Enough.' Numerous veins popped around Zenkichi's forehead and neck, the blazing blue flames around him started to shrink and his body began to change. The energies of divine, demon and spiritual in him skyrocketed at this moment.

"Oh? What is this? Music?" Kumagawa's curious voice sounded out as Zenkichi opened his dull dark-red eyes, with celtic crosses as his pupils.

He still wasn't able to visually see, but through his spiritual power sense, he's able to perceive the spiritual energy around him and locate his enemy as a obscure figure. The distorted world around him didn't matter, as long as he could sense Kumagawa's soul.

No matter how deprived or malicious a person is, they still have a soul.

And Zenkichi could "see" them right in front of him.

Especially that bright, purple flash coming straight at him
