57 Chapter 57: Humanity's Last Hope

Even on her worst enemies she wouldn't wish such a punishment. "I'll talk! I'll talk, just please don't do that to me!"

"Now, let's get back on track, shall we?" Najimi cleared her throat, regaining her composure. "As for Zenkichi's journey, it will take unexpected twists and turns, and I assure you all that it won't be easy for him. But one thing is for sure, he won't give up without a fight. And who knows, maybe he'll learn a thing or two about himself and the world around him."

Back in the real world with Zenkichi.

"What....the hell, is that?!" He stared at the gigantic black pillar that pierced the sky in complete horror, feeling a primal fear appearing in his heart. Out of all the bullshit he had seen, this tops it all.

As if that wasn't bad enough, dozens of red demonic eyes began to pop open across the pillar. Increasing the fear that Zenkichi was feeling.

'W-Why does it look...so familiar?!'

And to add to it all, was the gigantic mecha Monokumas wrecking havoc around it. Earth-shaking explosions continuously resounded from the capital city, flames spread out wildly like the end of the world was near.

As if the heavens had closed all doors for this world, multiple black lines appeared all across the skies like some cuts into reality. Suddenly, it then opens up like some mouth of a monster, letting out an ear piercing screech, revealing gigantic yellow eyes as it spilled black substance into the burning city.

Invisible to all but a quite few, for Zenkichi especially, were large monsters with white masks spilling out together with the black substance.

The situation turned completely shit.

"Zenkichi, what's—what the fuck is that?!" Naze got curious and followed behind him but as she saw the disaster happening at the center of the city, she couldn't help but exclaimed in shock and horror.

Naze's words snapped Zenkichi out of his trance, and immediately shoved the former back into the bedroom and locking the door behind him.

"Ow! What the fuck was that for?!" She said, rubbing her butt in pain but Zenkichi ignored her.

'Ryota's video isn't enough, I was too naive. When I got Quincy skills, I knew that this world wasn't ordinary. If Soul Society exists, then what about organizations of other anime or manga series? Some powerful and evil secret organization, waiting in the shadows for an opportunity to throw this world into chaos. Junko and her cronies had been the spark of it all.'

Zenkichi knew he had to do something. He couldn't stand there and watch as innocent people and his loved ones suffered and died. He gritted his teeth and took a deep breath, there was no more hesitation.

They needed a miracle, and he was going to get it.

[Lucky Devil: Valkyrie, that deal of ours? Can you summon me to your world now and fight for your humanity's survival?]

[Valkyrie of the Human Record: ....What's with the sudden change of thought? Are you that itchy on getting a fight with a God?]

[Lucky Devil: Gods, Immortals, Demons. I'd take on anything if it means I can get some hope for everyone.]

[Valkyrie of the Human Record: ?! 😕]

[Lucky Devil: Something happened to my world....it is at the level of human extinction and something promised me a miracle if I can enter your tournament and win against a God.]

There was no hesitation on her part. Because out of everyone Zenkichi knew, Brunhilde could relate to the sentiment of saving humanity.

[Starting Grand Summoning....]

A bright blue glow soon lit up under Zenkichi's feet, a magical circle with a large tree, a long snake coiled around its balk, and numerous golden apples appeared, blinding everyone in the room.

"Ack!"

"What the–?!"

Both Ryota and Naze couldn't react as the bright light engulfed their vision, and time began to halt.

[Quest: Humanity's Last Hope, has been initiated.]
