1 Chapter 1: Feeling Different

Zenkichi Hitoyoshi wasn't feeling alright at this moment.

Why? Well...

"Yup. I fucking transmigrated into another world and into a different body... or is this reincarnation?" Zenkichi muttered with a deadpanned voice as he stared at his reflection on his bathroom mirror. His face set on a blank one but he was barely keeping himself from freaking out right now because he didn't want to spook the only other person in the house besides him. "I didn't have blond hair or this stupid looking face before after all. Much less feeling like I could easily punch through a concrete pillar with a single bare fist."

He gripped the sides of the basin, his grip strength caused it to crack, he stopped and let out a big sigh. His hair bangs covered his eyes. He looked down and stared absentmindedly at the running water coming out of the faucet and into the sink.

"What the fuck happened anyway?"

From what he could remember before being transmigrated, he remembered a white van zooming into his vision when he was just standing by the road side of a street light, intending to walk across the other side of the road, and then he saw darkness.

"Don't tell me I actually died by a cliché isekai roadkill, though it was a van that killed me than a truck. That normally what happens..." Zenkichi frowned and shook his head. The process of his reincarnation or transmigration? Wasn't important right now. What is, is what's going to happen from now on.

Especially since he couldn't remember "who" he really was in his previous life. Sure, he remembered some stuff and he knew what his personalities and preferences are, but his name and family? Nothing. All he could recall of what his name and who his family, are Hitoyoshi Zenkichi and Hitoyoshi Hitomi respectively.

Hitoyoshi Zenkichi was your average, but slightly protagonist material, guy who's currently sixteen years old and was in his first year of highschool just a couple of months in. The guy has some dark history of being an edgy teen back in middle school, who started a gang because he wanted some attention, has a very athletic body, has some proficiency about a french martial art called Savate, was raised by a single and strange parent, and his looks was at least handsome.

He was definitely a protagonist material, heck he could even be the main protagonist, sadly however that title goes to the most noticeable thing about Hitoyoshi Zenkichi–his hot as hell childhood friend, Kurokami Medaka. A girl that could do anything, and was basically perfect. Ahem, Kim Possible, ahem.

But that was a can of worms he didn't want to talk about right now.

Instead, he was more concerned about his identity and his goals. He didn't remember his name, nor any of his relationship connections, in his previous life so he would just accept being Hitoyoshi Zenkichi for the time being. So the main problem he was facing, was his future.

"I... I shouldn't really be thinking about this right now actually. I'm young. I have a lot of time to think about my path in life and..." Zenkichi's face scrunched up, he gritted his teeth. "No. Even with my head being jumbled up from having two memories mixed together, my goal, my ambition, is clear. But I refuse to accept it. My goal in life, my dream–"

Both his hands clenched, and all of a sudden, he cocked his left arm back and was about to throw a punch at the mirror but Zenkichi snapped out of his mind and stopped himself, though with a great amount of self control. He was oh so tempted to just vent here and there, smashing everything, but he still shouldn't alert the other person in the house.

"–is to become a dog for a strange and eccentric girl called Kurokami Medaka!? Are you fucking kidding me?!" He whispered those words through gritted teeth.

If there's one thing that Zenkichi and his past life had nothing in complete common, is the matter of pride. Don't get him wrong, he wasn't a sexist sunavabitch, he has great respect for certain women since he was mostly raised by his mother and took care of his little sister since his father was always busy working overseas.

But what got to him was the matter of being subservient to someone! Whether they be old, young, guy, gal or anyone else! He wasn't no one's servant.

The reason for this was that, due to his past life's certain circumstances, he was always getting picked on when he was a small kid and it only stopped when he grew a backbone when he turned thirteen years old. Was the whole backstory and reason to make him a rebel or something, so fucking small and emo? Guess what, each person deals with their own problems with their own way.

He didn't like following anyone's orders, period. Requests? Sure he could do that. But orders? No.

To anyone, Zenkichi's relationship with Medaka might've looked normal in the surface and it might come out endearing for adults into thinking it was some kind of puppy love or a one-sided love that would no doubt end in some teen tragedy.

Oh how wrong they were thinking.

Viewing the past Zenkichi's memories, the present one understood how fucking messed up their relationship was.

The reason why Kurokami Medaka is the main protagonist is because of her inhumanity. That's right, inhumanity. But not because she was a bloodthirsty, ruthless and merciless tyrant or an arrogant, conceited and pampered bitch. No, it was the complete opposite. If it were the case he wouldn't have thought of her as the protagonist.

Kurokami Medaka is what most would call her, as the perfect role model of what a human should be.

She was helpful, confident, intelligent, ever so cheerful and most importantly, hot as hell. And that wasn't even considering her superhuman physical capabilities, super intelligence, superhuman learning capability and a copying ability that would make even the Sharingan obsolete.

She was just that overwhelming. Kurokami Medaka was what cultured people would describe, as the overpowered main character.

Now what was wrong with having a bond with her? Simple. Kurokami Medaka doesn't understand people and, unbeknownst to most, she looks down on them as well. This included her childhood friend as well, albeit she's doing subconsciously.

Which is why Zenkichi and Medaka's relationship was messed up. Because the former was so in love with her, to the point where he wouldn't form any significant bond with any other person for almost 13 to 14 years of his life until he distanced away from her in his first several weeks in Hakoniwa Academy and gained his first ever, best friend.

"...I won't accept this. I have to, no, will change the status quo." Zenkichi mumbled as he stared at the mirror, straight at his reflection, staring intently at his bright blue eyes like it was the chilliest ice, and took a breath in and out. "I am my own person. My fate, my destiny, my path are my own. My new life as Hitoyoshi Zenkichi, begins now."

Was it just him, or did he just saw his eyes glow a bright blue light for a moment before it disappeared after he blinked his eyes?

[D̨o̡͏͘ ͠y̕͘ou̷̴̧͠ ̷͜wi҉̷͘sh̸̷͘͡ ̧́̕͞t̀͜o͏͏̴͟ b̨̧͘͞ec̨ớ̕͜m̶è̶̡ ͡a–̷̢̕͠?̵]

'What the hell was that?' Zenkichi blinked his eyes, confused.

*Knock, knock*

"Zen-chan? Are you talking to yourself again in the mirror to motivate yourself? Hurry up will you, the curry's going to be cold."

"Mom?! N-No, I was not! Also, what did I say about eavesdropping on me while I'm in the bathroom?!"
