Traitors

"The fires have been extinguished, Your Majesty."

Dietrich stared at the one person being held down by his soldiers. His gaze drowning in confusion. He was sure the source this man was carrying were fake.

Then, how did the fire go down?

"Call the priests. Take care of the casualties. Summon the Archmage."

Dietrich's expression remained stony as he observed the prisoner kneeling before him. Despite the chaos around him, he exuded an eerie calmness, like the eye of a storm.

The fire had been extinguished, but something didn't sit right with him.

What am I missing?

He turned to Sulphisix. "Do we know how the fire was put out? I'm sure it wasn't because of the stone we broke that this man was carrying around."

Sulphisix shook his head, his brow furrowed. "No, Your Majesty. The flames just… vanished. Like they were never there. The buildings don't even look like they were set on fire."
