The Comeback

Today marks a momentous occasion for me – I am finally able to return to school after a long period of being out of commission. Thanks to my bionic arm, which is powered by artificial mana, I can once again learn and explore the world of magic. Although it's an unusual setup, it gets the job done and I'm grateful for it.

As I entered the school, my heart was filled with a mix of excitement and apprehension. It was good to be back, but I couldn't shake off the nagging feeling that I had lost both my arms. Still, I put on a brave face and greeted Rayne, who welcomed me back with a warm smile.

"Welcome back, Sora," she said. "It's good to see you again."

"It's good to be back," I replied, looking around for Remi. "Do you know where she is?"

"Why do you need to know?" Rayne asked curiously.

"I just want to thank her for visiting me in the hospital," I explained.

"She's probably in class already, waiting for the lesson to start," Rayne said, pointing me in the right direction.

As I entered the empty classroom, I saw Remi sitting alone, lost in thought. I approached her and greeted her, but noticed the same sorrowful expression on her face as before.

"Remi, what are you doing here so early? Class doesn't start for another 20 minutes," I said.

"I just wanted some quiet time before the lesson," she replied, her voice barely above a whisper.

"Is everything okay?" I asked, concerned.

Tears began to well up in her eyes as she looked up at me. I knew then that something was really wrong.

"Tell me what's wrong, Remi. I want to help," I said, taking her hands in mine.

"I can't... I can't tell you," she replied, her voice cracking.

I could see the pain and fear in her eyes, and it broke my heart. I knew I had to do something to help her, but I didn't know how.

Suddenly, Remi crumpled to the ground and began sobbing uncontrollably. I rushed to her side and held her tightly, trying to comfort her as best I could.

"It's okay, Remi. I'm here for you," I said softly.

But her tears wouldn't stop flowing, and I felt helpless. I knew there was something deeper going on, something that was causing her immense pain.

"Please tell me what's wrong, Remi," I pleaded.

"I... I can't," she sobbed.

Determined to help her, I made a promise to myself that I would do everything in my power to save her from whatever was hurting her. After all, how could I become the greatest magic user if I couldn't even save one person?

I pulled myself back and helped Remi to her feet. "Remi, you don't need to tell me what is hurting you so badly, I promise you that I will do something about it."

"Thank you, Sora," she replied, her eyes filled with tears.

I felt a pang of guilt for not being able to protect her from whatever was hurting her. But I made a silent vow to myself to help her in any way I could.

As we sat down in our seats and waited for the class to start, I felt a sense of relief wash over me. It was good to be back in school and learning again, even if it meant dealing with the stares and whispers of my classmates.

But as soon as the class started to fill up, I knew I was in for trouble. Ms. Smith announced to the class that I had lost an arm in my recent encounter, and everyone gasped in shock.

Zion, one of my classmates, looked at me with disdain. "Sora, you know this is going to set you back, right?"

I felt a surge of anger rise within me. "How about we take this outside and find out?" I retorted, my fists clenched.

Ms. Smith intervened, telling Zion to go back to his seat and warning me not to cause trouble. But I knew that Zion was trouble, and I couldn't just sit back and let him bully me.

"Ms. Smith, with all due respect, I've seen everything I need to know. Zion is destined to be evil," I said, looking straight at Zion.

"Why would you ever think that?" he sneered.

"Maybe because of the way you look at me. Maybe it's because I'm better than you."

Zion's eyes narrowed, and I knew I had hit a nerve. He threw a fireball at me, but I easily absorbed it with my bionic arm.

But then he went too far. He unleashed a powerful spell, and I knew that it was aimed at killing me. Ms. Smith got in the way and dissipated the spell with ease, but Zion was not deterred.

"I'll make sure none of you get out of here alive!" he shouted, preparing to unleash another spell.

But I wasn't going to let that happen. I summoned a sword made of pure light and pierced him in the stomach.

He looked down in shock and horror as he saw the sword protruding from his stomach, blood gushing out.

"You bastard... how did you get in front of me that fast?" he gasped.

I knew I had to stop before I went too far. "Sora, stand down. If you kill him, there is no going back," Ms. Smith warned me.

She was right. I couldn't let my anger get the best of me. But I couldn't just let Zion get away with endangering the lives of everyone in the classroom.

"I will make sure the headmaster apprehends him properly," Ms. Smith said.

Scarlett rushed into the room, and I knew that she had been contacted telepathically by Ms. Smith.

"Sora... why did you do this?" she asked me, her eyes filled with concern.

"He endangered the class. You want me to just stand there and do nothing?" I replied, feeling frustrated.

But as I walked out of the room, I knew that I had done the right thing. I had protected my classmates, even if it meant resorting to violence.
