Leo's Backstory (1)

My life was going great, I had everything I ever wanted. I had a family that I loved and a family that loved me back. Ever since that day, my dreams have been haunted by one person. The one person that took away the most precious people away from me. I don't know who killed my father and my sister, but all I know is that every spec of hate in my heart is towards that man.

10 days before the incident...

I was outside playing catch with my dad and that was the first time I encountered or at least have seen the man that killed my loved ones. There was a live broadcast on the news, it was this man who was using some type of dark magic... they defined it as Oblivion Magic, one of the most powerful forms of magic as it uses the energy from the very depths of the person's hatred.

"This is a live broadcast as we show a man annihilating the city of Hocnard, a man known as The Voidwalker has been destroying every city that he encounters without even being challenged. The Xuidian Kingdom has tried everything to attempt to stop this man, not a single man who has challenged The Voidwalker has lived." The announcer said.

My father watched as he saw the innocent lives be taken and there was nothing he could do about it. My father is a retired hero as he suffered injuries that forced him to retire, he was once known to be part of the Elite 10, the 10 strongest heroes in the Xuidian Kingdom. There was not a soul in the world that could stand in my father's way, the amount of lives he saved made me admire him more than anyone else in the world.

"If I was still able to fight, this man wouldn't be standing right now. This fucker thinks he can get away with this." My father said.

"Dad, there's nothing that we can do, all we can do is hope for someone to defeat him." My sister said. At the time I didn't fully understand what was going on, but soon enough I would.

On the day of the incident I was going out with my father and my sister to go to my kickball game, later I would realize that would be the turning point of my life, the first time I ever felt despair was that day.

"Bye Mommy!" I said as I walked out the door and into the carriage.

As we were driving my father noticed all the people that were going the opposite way, my father started to get worried as he didn't know why all these people were going the opposite way as us then it hit him, there was a figure in the sky, it was The Voidwalker. Before my father could react he blasted our carriage and sent us flying into the trees where a branch impaled my father's shoulder.

"DAD!" My sister screamed out.

My father sliced the branch and kept it in his shoulder to clot the blood and stop the bleeding.

"LEO, EMILY YOU NEED TO GET OUT OF HERE." My dad ordered. My sister grabbed my arm and she dragged me as I watched my father have to fend for himself against The Voidwalker.

------------------------------------Sion's Perspective (Leo's Father)------------------------------------

Facing The Voidwalker was unlike any battle I had ever experienced. The air crackled with dark energy, and his malevolent laughter echoed through the surroundings. My injured shoulder throbbed with pain, but I couldn't afford to show weakness. Emily and Leo's safety depended on me, and I was determined to protect them at all costs.

"Retired hero Sion, is this the best you can muster?" The Voidwalker taunted, his voice dripping with disdain.

I clenched my teeth and drew upon the depths of my own strength. I might not have been in my prime, but I still possessed skills that could rival any foe. With a swift motion, I summoned flames to my hand, letting the fire dance and crackle at my fingertips. "You've caused enough suffering. It ends here."

The Voidwalker's form shifted, shadows swirling around him as he prepared to unleash his Oblivion Magic. I could feel the hatred emanating from him, a tangible force that sent shivers down my spine. But I couldn't falter; I had to keep him from harming my family or anyone else.

As The Voidwalker's power surged, I hurled a torrent of fire toward him, the flames blazing with a ferocity that matched my determination. The clash of fire and darkness created a chaotic spectacle, lighting up the sky in a clash of opposing forces. But Oblivion Magic was potent, and it began to seep through the flames, corrupting the very air around us.

I needed to act fast. I channeled my remaining strength into a concentrated burst of fire magic, aiming to overwhelm his darkness. The flames roared, a wall of searing heat surging toward The Voidwalker. He raised a hand, attempting to shield himself, but the fire cut through his defenses, scorching his form.

Yet, even as the flames engulfed him, The Voidwalker's laughter grew louder, his dark energy intensifying. It was as if he drew strength from his own suffering, feeding on his hatred and pain.

My heart pounded in my chest as I realized the dire nature of the situation. I had to end this, or he would only become more powerful. With a deep breath, I focused every ounce of my remaining energy into one final attack. The flames around me surged, swirling into a vortex of fire that engulfed The Voidwalker completely.

For a moment, there was silence. The flames raged, obscuring my vision of the enemy. But then, a chilling, otherworldly voice echoed from within the inferno. "It was fun while it lasted, hero."

In the blink of an eye, a searing pain exploded through my abdomen, and I stumbled backward. My vision swam as I clutched my stomach, unable to comprehend the agony that surged through me. Warm wetness coated my hands, and when I looked down, a horrifying sight met my eyes – blood gushed from a gaping wound, mingling with my entrails that spilled onto the ground.

Weakness gripped my limbs, and I felt myself sinking to my knees. The world around me seemed to spin, a distorted whirlwind of shadows and pain. But amidst the haze, a chilling voice cut through the chaos.

"Do not despair, do not think that you are weak," the voice intoned, an eerie calmness in its tone. "Before you die, tell me your name."

My breaths came in ragged gasps, and I struggled to focus on the figure before me. It was The Voidwalker, his presence radiating darkness and malevolence. Despite the overwhelming agony, a spark of defiance flickered within me.

"Sion..." I managed to choke out, my voice barely audible. The world was beginning to blur around me, edges of darkness encroaching on my vision.

The Voidwalker's dark eyes bore into mine, his expression inscrutable. "Sion... a fitting name for a hero."

As the pain intensified and my strength waned, memories of my family and the people I loved flashed before my eyes. Emily's laughter, Leo's determination, and my wife's warm embrace – they were the anchors that had defined my life. In that moment, I realized that my legacy was more than the battles I fought; it was the love I had shared and the hope I had instilled in others.

With a final surge of determination, I lifted my head, meeting The Voidwalker's gaze with unwavering resolve. "Even in the face of darkness, there is always light," I rasped, my voice a whisper in the wind.

The Voidwalker's expression shifted, a flicker of something indiscernible passing across his features. And then, in a burst of dark energy, he disappeared, leaving me alone in the dimming world.

As my vision faded and my body grew cold, a sense of peace washed over me. I knew that my sacrifice was not in vain, that my actions would resonate through the hearts of those who remembered my name. I hope Leo and Emily get out safe...
