"Target is in sight. No more chit chatting." Another voice came out but this time, all three of them were familiar with it. Muramasa had finally opened his comms even though they all knew that he was monitoring the encrypted network channel that they had been using to communicate.
The Defence Minister of the United Kingdom, Mr Garland Blaire. He had been one of up and coming rising stars that had been rumoured to take the seat of the Prime Minister once the incumbent had decided to retire.
That said, there were too many people who wanted him to go down. Security was extra tight in the place but that does not mean it had deterred assassins from coming in. Muramasa believed that his group was not the only assassins that were targeting after Mr Blaire. Thus if he wished to receive the bounty, it was either up to Muramasa to clean up the competition before going in for the kill.
That was where Moth entered the picture. He might be an old guy but have you seen an old buff guy who could single handedly kill someone with his own bare hand? Yes. Hand. Not hands.
"Found one." Viper said as she used her phone to send an encrypted message to Moth as Muramasa had already identified the competition for his team of 'Swords' way before they entered the Royal Theatre of London. They expected that if a regular person could get this information, it would not have been cheap.
But for Muramasa? He probably tapped his keyboard and a click of a mouse to get the things he wanted.
"Following." Moth stood up slowly to adjust his jacket before he moved out. The opera was about to begin and the commotion to sit in a hurry for quite a few of the opera watchers gave Moth the perfect distraction to get away without much suspicion especially with the lights dimming.
Many assumed that this opera show wearing masquerade masks was part of the event for a high class Halloween night but the majority never knew that this was done to protect and hide the defence minister's presence. After all, Mr Blaire was solely there because of the opera singer for he had invested a ton of money on her.
As expected, the so called assassin that had been hired by other people was going to the toilet to get his equipment. Moth pretended to pee and check himself at the mirror while hearing the inevitable clicking of a weapon behind a toilet stall. He sighed, wondering if these were amateurs.
With a deep breath in, Moth shoulder charged the stall's door and caught the assassin off-guard. In fact, the assassin was preparing to attack and was luring Moth to the clicking of his pistol. He did not expect the old gentleman had a strength tougher than a professional builder to smash through the doors and hit him so hard that he knocked out.
"Leave him be," Muramasa ordered. "Take his weapon and bring it to Viper's allocated position as soon as possible."
"Heh, won't Viper leaving bring too much distraction?" Moth said as he picked up the weapon, a standard police revolver. It did not take long for Moth to connect the dots that there was inside help to get the assassination of Mr Blaire to go.
