Investigating Leo

As Derek left, Allyson noticed her disciple, who usually showed no interest in boys, carefully lifting the unconscious boy from the floor and placing him on the bed. Despite her stoic expression, Allyson could see the worry in her disciple's eyes. After living with her for almost fifteen years, she was shocked and thought, 'My little disciple finally acting like a girl.'

Allyson turned to the medicine elder and asked, "Elder, have you finished examining the boy?" The elder replied, "Yes, and these are his pills." He took out the a bottle of pills from his space ring and handed them to Ava, who was standing next to the bed.

Allyson then ordered the elder to leave and warned him that there would be consequences if any rumors spread about what happened in the room. The elder nodded his head and left the room.

Allyson heard Ava reprimand her, "Master, couldn't you control yourself? You knocked out Leo." She didn't want to admit that she had lost control and replied defensively, "The boy didn't seem like himself, so I knocked him out." She gave Ava an amused smile and continued, "Aren't you a little too worried? Relax, he will wake up soon." Ava ignored her and checked the boy for any signs of damage.

Allyson couldn't contain her curiosity any longer and asked, "Would you tell me why you're acting like a guardian angel towards the boy?"

Ava appeared taken aback, as if she had only just realized how she had been acting. "I'm not entirely sure," she replied. "Perhaps it's because he's the first boy I've met who hasn't looked at me with lustful eyes like all the others."

Ava paused, lost in thought, before continuing, "But I think it's more than that. Every time I look into his eyes, I see a tiny flicker of light. It's a fragile, solitary light that's fighting against an endless darkness. Despite the overwhelming opposition, he refuses to succumb and instead stands tall."

Allyson heard the sadness in Ava's voice as she continued, "It's as though he's waging a painful battle against all odds, and I can't help but want to support him. I want that little light to win, and I want to do everything in my power to help him fight his struggles."

Upon hearing Ava's reasoning, Allyson thought to herself, 'Even now, she doesn't realize she has fallen in love with him. I need to check on this boy later.'

Allyson was lost in thought, but snapped out of her daze when she noticed the boy waking up. She examined him closely and saw the same eyes that Ava had talked about. However, they were different from what Ava had described; Allyson couldn't see anything in them. There wasn't any light in the boy's eyes like Ava had said. Instead, she saw blank eyes that looked lifeless and showed no interest in the world or any other person. The boy seemed indifferent towards everyone, not just Ava.

"Boy, do you know who I am?" Allyson asked, but the boy shook his head, indicating that he didn't know. "I'm Ice Peak Master Allyson, the person who saved you from Derek," she said. The boy spoke, "Greetings, Peak Master Allyson, I'm Leo, and thank you for your assistance in the previous matter."

Allyson sneered, "I only saved your sorry ass because my disciple asked for it. You should thank her." Then, she said, "Enough with small talk. Tell me, why did you threaten Derek?" Leo looked puzzled, but finally answered, "I don't like him."

Allyson continued, "Your actions could have caused the loss of your life. You seemed indifferent to dying." Leo responded, "The only thing I care about is surviving, and my actions were due to getting up from the wrong side of the bed. It will not happen again."

As she looked at him, Allyson wondered if she should try a different approach to get the answers she was seeking. However, she felt a cold aura coming from Ava, as if she was warning her not to push too hard. Allyson decided to drop the matter for now and got up to leave. She noticed that Ava wasn't following her, so she addressed her, "Ava, we are leaving."

After seeing her master finally stop her interrogation, she felt reassured because she could feel that Leo was starting to get irritated. Then she heard her master calling her. She didn't want to leave, but looking at her master's face, she understood there was no room for refusal. So she got up and left.

"This medicine was given to you by Elder, and he said it would help you sleep well and calm your mind," she told him before hurrying to follow her master. As she walked away, she heard Leo's voice behind her. "Thank you for saving my life back there," he said.

Those simple words sent a jolt through her body. She froze for a moment, unsure of how to respond. Then, without a backward glance, she hurried away.

Her heart was pounding in her chest, and she could feel a flush of heat rising to her cheeks. She leaned against the wall, trying to catch her breath. She couldn't quite explain why, but Leo's words had affected her more than she cared to admit.

As Allyson overheard the conversation between her disciple and Leo, she noticed her disciple running out of the room with a faint blush on her face. The unexpected scene left Allyson shocked, and she remained frozen in the room. Leo looked puzzled, showing no clue about why Ava ran out.

As Allyson was leaving, she warned Leo to make sure that he did not harm her disciple in any way. She said, "If I find out that Ava became upset because of you, I will make your life miserable."

As Allyson walked out of the room, she saw her disciple waiting, leaning against the corridor wall. Her disciple had turned back to her usual self. Allyson said with an amused voice, "Come on, my cute disciple, we need to return to Ice Peak Mountain." Allyson saw her disciple nodding with an angry face.

After reaching the Ice Peak Mountain, Allyson sent Ava to the mystical Ice Peak Realm to undergo cultivation. She then called one of the elders who was in charge of information gathering on the Ice Peak Mountain and asked him to investigate Leo and bring her everything he found about him.

After the elder handed Allyson the report, she ordered him to leave and began to read it carefully. The report revealed that Leo had joined the Heavenly Immortal Sect three years ago as a servant and had reached the first realm of the Qi Condensation realm last month, despite not having a spiritual root.

Allyson found it suspicious that there was no information about Leo's parents or his origins before he joined the sect, so she decided to keep a close eye on him to see if there was anything unusual about him.

However, her disappointment arose when she learned that Leo was just a mortal. Mortals who achieve cultivation can only reach a certain level and will eventually hit a plateau, unable to advance any further. This was concerning to Allyson, as she knew it could become a problem if Ava decided to become a Dao companion with him in the future.

Despite this, after meeting Leo in person, Allyson had a feeling that he would overcome his disadvantages and reach higher realms.
