The Man Across The Fence

Jiu Li carefully aimed his gun at the intruder and called out,

"State your name and purpose!"

The intruder froze in place for a moment before slowly turning around to face Jiu Li. As he removed his mask, Jiu Li was shocked to see that it was not Zheng Hu but someone else entirely.

Phew…..wait— who could that person be if he wasn't Zheng Hu?!?

The man, who looked to be around the same age as Jiu Li, had short orange hair, emerald eyes, and a scar above his left eyebrow. He looked nervous as he spoke,

"Please don't shoot, I'm not here to cause trouble. My name is Wei Feng, and I need your help."

Jiu Li lowered his gun slightly but still kept it aimed at the man. What kind of business could a person that was never mentioned in the plot have with Jiu Li?

Wei Feng seemed to sense Jiu Li's hesitation and quickly explained himself.

"I know this might sound strange and crazy, but I've been having these strange dreams lately, and I think you might be able to help me. You see, in my dreams, I keep seeing this symbol that looks like the one on your shirt."

Wei Feng pointed to the symbol on Jiu Li's shirt.

Jiu Li's eyes widened in surprise. The symbol on his shirt was a family crest, and he was sure Jiu Li had never shown it to anyone outside of his family. Jiu Li slowly lowered his gun and asked,

"How did you know about this symbol?"

Wei Feng hesitated for a moment before replying,

"I don't really know. It's just something that's been recurring in my dreams, and I feel like it's important somehow. I've been trying to find out what it means, but I haven't had any luck. That's why I came to you."

Jiu Li widened his eyes in suprise.

The novel never mentiond anyone experiencing something like this before.. Wei Feng seemed genuine enough, but Jiu Li couldn't help but feel cautious. He decided to ask a few more questions before making a decision.

"Well, what do you want me to do?"

Jiu Li asked.

Wei Feng looked relieved that Jiu Li was willing to listen. He explained,

"I was hoping you could help me figure out what this symbol means. Maybe it has something to do with your family, or maybe it's just a coincidence. But I feel like I need to find out what it means, and I think you might be able to help me."

Jiu Li considered it for a moment.

He had never encountered anything like this before, but he couldn't ignore the possibility that Wei Feng's dreams might be connected to his family crest.

"Alright,"

Jiu Li finally said.

"I'll help you. But we'll need to be careful. If someone else finds out about this, it could put both of us in danger."

Wei Feng, you better keep your mouth shut! (I’m watching you!)
