Lurking In The Shadows

Jiu Li's voice was barely above a whisper. Wei Feng's eyes widened in shock and concern,

"Is there anything I could do to help?"

Now Jiu Li was stumped. Should he let the plot flow or should he save Jiu Li's sister. The thought of changing the plot excessively alone was already a headache for Jiu Li, but a burning urge in his heart told him to do it. Jiu Li obviously could ignore it. After all, he also had a sister before he transmigrated and had failed to protect her a few years ago, the result was her getting into a car crash. Since then, it was a extremely sensitive topic for him afterwards as guilt hsd always haunted him up until now.

Jiu Li took a deep breath, considering his options. It was obvious that Wei Feng was not trained in combat, but he also knew that he couldn't do this alone.

"I could use your help, but I will to warn you that this might be dangerous,"

Jiu Li said, looking at Wei Feng seriously.

Wei Feng nodded without hesitation,

"Considering that I need your help with figuring out about the meaning behinds the crest in my dreams, I will attempt to help you with everything in the range of my abilities"

Jiu Li nodded gratefully and began to explain their plan. They would track down the kidnapper's location, infiltrate their hideout, and rescue Jiu Li's sister. Wei Feng listened carefully, taking note of every detail.

As they set out to execute their plan, Jiu Li couldn't help but feel grateful for Wei Feng's help.

He knew that he couldn't have done it alone, and he was glad to have someone like Wei Feng by his side. Together, they navigated the dark alleys of the city, following the trail that led them closer and closer to the kidnapper's hideout.

When they finally arrived, they saw that the entrance was heavily guarded. Wei Feng couldn't help but feel intimidated. He unconsciously took a few steps back.

Jiu Li and Wei Feng hid behind some nearby crates and discussed their options. They could try to fight their way in, but that would be risky. They could also try to sneak in undetected, but that would require a lot of skill and luck.

After some careful consideration, they decided to split up.

Wei Feng would create a distraction on one side of the hideout while Jiu Li snuck in from the other side. Wei Feng nodded determinedly, and they both went their separate ways.

Wei Feng walked confidently towards the entrance of the hideout, his heart pounding in his chest. He knew he had to be convincing, so he acted like he was lost and needed directions.

One of the guards approached him, suspiciously eyeing him up and down. Wei Feng tried to remain calm and collected, but his nerves were getting the best of him. He could feel his hands shaking and his heart racing faster.

Just then, he remembered the symbol on his wrist. He discreetly lifted his sleeve to reveal it to the guard. Jiu Li had engraved it beforehand and told him to show it to the guards to make his acting more convincing.

The guard's eyes widened in recognition as he saw the symbol. He stepped back and signaled for Wei Feng to follow him. Wei Feng felt a rush of relief as he followed the guard deeper into the hideout. As they walked, he kept his eyes peeled for any sign of Jiu Li's sister.

Meanwhile, Jiu Li was making his way through the shadows, trying to avoid detection.

He could hear the sound of footsteps and voices coming from the other side of the wall. He crept closer, trying to listen in on their conversation. It was then that he heard a feminine voice - Jiu Li's sister's.

His heart leapt with both relief and fear. He knew he had to act fast.

He made his way towards the source of the voice, trying to keep his breathing steady and calm. As he got closer, he could hear her muffled words through the wall.

"What do you want?"

she asked, her tone shaky.

The lights were dim and Jiu Li was still in the shadows, she couldn't recognize him.

Jiu Li's heart sank as he realized that he had been caught. He had to come up with a plan fast.

"I'm here to rescue you."

Jiu Li's sister was skeptical , but Jiu Li knew he had to convince her quickly.

"Listen to me carefully. We don't have much time,"

Jiu Li said urgently.

"Listen, I have a friend distracting the guards. We need to move quickly and quietly if we're going to get out of here."

Jiu Li's sister hesitated for a moment before nodding in agreement.
