The Surprise Date (2)

After Julie and Pierre were done with their first attraction, they walked together through Disneyland to find some snacks. The atmosphere was pleasant. There were many families around and lots of happy children.

Julie could imagine herself coming back here when she has kids. She really wanted this. Having her own family.

She is 26 now and to be honest slowly she has enough of travelling. She wants to find a man she can get married to and be a mother. But thinks were not that easy.

Julie wondered if she would ever find a man who was husband material. She knew what she wanted. Someone with a bright mind she can learn from, someone funny and kind and of course attractiveness does also matter. She would lie if she said it doesn't.

But if she would ever find such in man is written in the stars. Julie felt disheartened. Maybe the universe wants her to be single forever.

"Here you go." Pierre handed Julie a box of macarons that she craved. He insisted on paying for it and Julie didn't want to bicker. She will think of a way to pay him back later.

"And I got something else for you." Pierre put a headband with black mouse ears on Julie's head. In the middle it had a pink bow. "That will remind you of today," he said while touching the ears.

He looked at Julie with these cute ears on and he smiled down at her.

Julie touched the headband and smiled back at him. "Thank you," she said.

Pierre felt like they shared a moment together. He was right in front of her and Julie was looking up at him with sparkles in her eyes.

In that moment all he wanted was to kiss her. He wanted her to be his. He couldn't wait for the day she finally becomes his girlfriend and then he can kiss her whenever he wanted.

But that day hasn't arrived yet, so with difficulty he took a step away from her.

"So, what do you want to do next?"

"Hm…," Julie had to think for a moment "Let's try a roller coaster," she said cheerfully while munching on a macaron.

The hours went by and they had a lot of fun. They tried as many attractions as they could in one day and in the evening they ate dinner in a steak house which was one of the restaurants at Disneyland.

Julie tricked Pierre and paid for the bill when he was on the toilet. He wasn't happy about it but now he knows how it feels.

She had such a good day and she wanted to pay him back. Not for the money but for the good time. Maybe she could think of something for his birthday.

When the sun started to set, they decided to drive back home.

"Thank you Pierre, I can't remember the last time I had so much fun," Julie said while walking down the hallway to her apartment.

Pierre was right behind her. "You are welcome."

Julie felt like he deserved her gratitude, so she had to say more. "No seriously, since I'm here you did so much for me. I can't thank you enough and I'm really glad that I moved next to you. You know, I think I never had such a good friend."

Pierre was happy that Julie appreciated him like this but at the same time it hurt that she was calling him a friend.

Pierre didn't want this anymore. He wanted to be more for Julie. He wanted her to see him as a man who could make her heart pound faster just like she does to him.

Pierre looked at the woman he loved with desperation and he couldn't bear it any longer. He had to confess his feelings now or he would go crazy.

But how can he put his feelings into words? Pierre was a nervous wreck. He could feel his heart beating in his chest and his mouth was getting dry.

"Julie I.. I need to tell you something," he stammered.

"Yes, what is it?" She smiled bashfully. Pierre was suddenly getting so serious and she didn't know this side of him. She found it a little unsettling.

Pierre's head was blank. He imagined that moment so many times but now he didn't know what to say.

He stepped closer to her and took her cheeks into his hand. 'If words won't do than maybe actions,' he thought.

Pierre looked into Julie's eyes and then down to her lips that called out for him. He wanted this for so long and he wasn't willing to hold back anymore.

Since Julie didn't show any signs of resistance he leaned down and connected his lips with hers.

It wasn't by far his first kiss and he had girlfriends before but that was different because he didn't love any of them as much as Julie. From the moment he saw her he knew that she was the one.

Even though Julie didn't respond to the kiss her soft lips felt wonderful under his and he felt like his body was on fire. The butterflies in his stomach were going crazy and he thought his heart would jump out of his throat.

Pierre hated that he had to break the kiss. He looked into Julie's eyes with hope that he would see the slightest sign of approval. But she just stared at him in complete shock and not able to move a muscle.

Pierre felt his heart sink to his stomach. That was not the reaction he hoped for. "Julie I know that comes unexpected and you probably never considered me as more than a friend but if you somehow can see me as more I would be the happiest man on earth if you gave me a chance," he pleaded with her.

Julie didn't know what to say. Her mind was a mess and she couldn't process Pierre's words.

"You don't have to answer me now. You can think about it in peace and we can talk later. But just know if you give me a chance, I will do anything for you, I will treat you well and be the best boyfriend you could imagine."

Julie felt like her head was spinning. Where was this coming from? This was like a love confession. Or more like it was an actual love confession.

Julie felt panic rise within her. "I… I don't know what say. I'm sorry."

"It's okay. Just consider it. I can wait for you."

It this moment Julie saw the longing and hurt in Pierre's eyes. His feelings were obvious and she couldn't believe that she has never noticed it before.

Julie just managed to nod and than fled into her apartment. The intensity of the situation was too overwhelming for her.

Julie slumped down on her sofa and tried to process what just happened.

Pierre just kissed her and she was only standing there like frozen. She was so shocked by the situation that she couldn't push him away.

Or did she even want to push him away? Pierre was right when he said that she never considered him as more than just a friend.

Yes, he is a handsome man. No doubt about that. Tall, with a head full of blond hair and blue eyes. But still Julie never felt attracted to him.

'Maybe it is true what they say. That men and women can't be friends,' she thought.

Julie chided herself. How could she be so blind? How could she not see that he has feeling for her. She felt like such an idiot.

Julie leaned her head back against the sofa and closed her eyes. Five minutes ago, she was so relaxed but now she felt anxious. 'Can't I have a normal day?'

Another thought crossed her mind. 'Now it makes sense that Pierre was always so nice to me.' Julie eyes sprang open and her head shot up. 'Wait! He has always been that nice. Does it mean he had feelings for me from the beginning?'

Julie remembered Thursday. He told her that a guy who can't see how smart and beautiful she is doesn't deserve her. 'Was this a way of him to confess his feelings?' Julie thought.

'Oh my god and I was crying about another man in front of him.' July covered her eyes with her hands and let herself fall sideways on the sofa.

'What am I supposed to do now. I don't have feelings for Pierre but I like him to much to hurt him,' she thought.

'But I can't ignore him either. Why can a man not just be friends with a woman? Why did he have to fall in love with me?'

Julie was upset. Everything was going well so far and now her world was crumbling. Pierre introduced her to Jade and Camille and she likes the duo but they are tied to him.

Can she be friends with them even if she rejects Pierre?

Julie knew that, if she was in love with him that would be perfect. She believed him when he said that he would make a good boyfriend and treat her well. She was sure about that.

Moreover, she likes her life here and can imagine to stay for a man.

But she is not in love with him and Julie doesn't think that would change in the future and she can't force those feelings even though she doesn't want to lose Pierre.

'What a disaster,' she thought.
