Chapter 16 : A day out

♡ Lunch Time ♡

I stretched out my arms in joy as soon as I heard the bell, I couldn't stand any minutes more for lessons. Strangely, Zeke continued to sit at his seat even when the bell had gone.

"Let's go Clover~!" Matteo hugged my arm out of nowhere, with a smiling expression. It didn't really hurt since my arm had been slowly healing so it's fine.

"Zeke, you coming?" I asked but is it just me but the atmosphere feels cold...I looked at Zeke and could see that he was staring at us, so his the one making the cold atmosphere.

"You guys can go without me."

"Huh? No, your coming with us!" I shook off Matteo's hands and grabbed Zeke on the sleeve, pulling him off his chair.

"Let's go~" I happily pulled him along with me to the cafeteria while Matteo walked besides me.

"Urgh, let me go!" Zeke shook my hand away harshly.

"But you need to eat-" I grabbed his sleeve gently but he pushed me aside, making me stumble back but Matteo got me.

"Your so annoying..."

"Zeke, you don't have to be rude, she was just trying to care for you!" Matteo backed me up but He glared at me and walked away. I stared as he slowly disappeared from my sight. What did I do wrong...

"Hey Clover...are you okay?" Matteo asked with concern, I nodded and smiled weakly.

"Y-yeah, I'm fine, let's go..." I walked ahead of him and went to the cafeteria. I guess I was just annoying him instead...I didn't mean to make him feel that way...I sat down at the usual table and kept quiet, I could feel Millie staring at me but she didn't say anything more.

"Umm...Clover do you want anything to eat or drink?"

"It's fine, you guys can carry on with your lunch. I'll just go back to class..."

"But you just sat down..."

"I need to do some things."

"Oh okay..." I got up from my seat and did not went back to class instead I went to the schools back garden, that not many people come to, since it was at the back of the school, so it's peaceful there.

I sat down on a bench, looking out into the fields of flowers. They were vibrant with all sorts of colours that were resembling a rainbow. My mind started to relax and blank out as I stared at the scenery in front of me.

"How beautiful..." I smiled, hopelessly. My eyes closed slowly, feeling a strong gust of wind blow against me. Somehow, shortly after closing my eyes, my mind and body drifted into the darkness.

♡ 5 Hours later ♡

"Clover! Wake up Clover!" My eyes slowly opened as I heard a familiar voice calling out to me. Once my eyes were fully adjusted to the surrounding, I noticed Millie holding onto me while Matteo sat besides me.

"What are you doing here?! We were trying to find you for the past hour, why are you in the schools back garden? You know not many people come here."

"Ahh...what time is it now?" I yawned, rubbing my sleepy eyes.

"It's currently 4.20pm right now, it has been 5 hours since you left the cafeteria." Matteo showed his phone to me as I stared at the time, my eyes widened.

"That means I missed the rest of my lessons!" I yelled out, standing up from the bench suddenly, making Millie and Matteo flinch out of surprise.

"Hey hey, I got your bag here with me and yes you missed your lessons...but I told the teacher you weren't feeling well." I looked at Matteo who had my bag on his lap as he stared at me.

"Ahh, thank you." I took my bag from him and looked back at Millie, who grabbed my hands.

"Let's get going to the mall for our ice cream!" I titled my head and thought for a second, then I nodded my head, knowing what she was talking about.

We got out of the school and walked our way to the mall, that was not too far from the school. Even though we could have taken a bus but we decided to walk so we can have some time together.

"Did Zeke go home?" I asked, even though I already knew the answer since he did say no...

"He went home straight after school ended. I did ask him again to see if he wants to come but he said no and went off." Matteo spoke up. I looked at the ground as I walked.

"Don't worry, he is safe at home, his just being salty. Don't let him spoil the fun!" Millie swung her arm over my shoulders and smiled.

Millies right, I shouldn't let something like that spoil the fun mood but I do wish that Zeke could come along.

"Yeah let's go! Ah and Matteo, you said you would treat me to ice cream right?" I exclaimed, smiling cheekily at Matteo.

"Yeah, I will~"

"Hey! What about me?"

"You can buy yours, yourself." Matteo looked away, crossing his arms. Millie gave him a punch on the arm, looking at him.

"Ouch, what was that for?!"

"Come on, it's just a small punch, it couldn't have hurt." Millie scoffed, rolling her eyes at him. I chuckled at the two, fighting about something like that.

"Come on, stop fighting already. If you do, the shop might even close before we get there." I joked, making them stop as they looked away from each other.

"Hmph, let's go Clover!" Millie grabbed my arms and pulled me along with her.

Once we were at the mall, I looked around the place, how long has it been since I've been here, weeks, months, well I don't know but its good to see the mall again.

"The ice cream shop is still open!" Millie excitedly ran to the ice cream store with her eyes glued to the menu.

We walked over to her and I took a look at the menu, there many flavours to choose from. My eyes scanned through all of the given flavours and found what I wanted to get.

"I'll get a honey ice cream!" Millie ordered and turned to us.

"What about you guys?"

"I'll get a green tea ice cream, how about you?" I asked Matteo, still looking at the menu.

"I'll get a tiramisu ice cream." The shop staff started making our ice creams. Millie's order came first and she paid for hers, I went outside of the shop with her while Matteo waited inside for our ice creams since he did say he was going to treat me.

"Why did Matteo want to treat you for ice cream..?" Millie questioned, eating up her ice cream. What should I tell her...that he just wanted to be nice or that he is doing it so I will not hold any grudges against him for yesterday?

"He maybe just wants to be nice hmm~?"

"Nice? What about me then?" I chuckled at Millie. I don't know what is with the two, it seems like ever since the first day he came to this school she just didn't like him much...

They didn't really always agree to the same things, they are like opposites of each other.

"You guys really need to hangout more and maybe you'll be great friends then!"

"I'm trying to be nice here Clover..." Millie pouted, eyeing at Matteo, who was walking out the shop with ice cream in his hands.

"Ah, thank you!" 

"It's nothing~" Matteo handed me my green tea ice cream and smiled. We took a walk around the mall, exploring the shops that interest us.

"Hey Clover, come here!" I glanced at Millie before walking over to her. She was hiding something behind her back, I tried to peek over but she kept blocking it away from me.

"What is it that your hiding?"

"Hehe~ Close your eyes and I will tell you." Millie grinned from ear to ear, making me feel a little uneasy.

"You won't do anything funny right?"

"No I won't~ Now close your eyes!"

"O-okay..." I closed my eyes and waited for something to happen, I felt something being placed on my head. It wasn't anything heavy but instead it felt like a headband...?

"Don't open your eyes just yet!"

"What now..." I waited for a while, hearing Millie walk away and walk back to me. She tied something around my waist while fiddling with my clothes.

"Okay we're done but wait!"

"Hah?" This time my eyes were covered by Millie's hands and she directed me somewhere while I tried making not to bump into anything to cause damage to things.

"Ta-da~!" Millie took her hands off my eyes while it took sometime for me to adjust my eyesight. I was now facing a mirror, looking at myself. My mouth dropped open when I saw myself.

"What on earth Millie..."
