Chapter 50

He gets out of the car as I do and meets me on my side. He takes my hand and we walk to our house. He is very nervous, and now it's freaking me out. I feel him look at me and I meet his gaze.

"Is everything all right?" I ask concerned now. Mervin just nods his head and I open our front door. I gasp in shock from seeing everyone in our family in here.

"Happy birthday!" They shout. I feel tears pool my eyes and I look to Mervin.

"Did you plan all this?" I ask feeling a tear leave my eye. He nods his head hesitantly.

"Do you not like it?" He asks taking in my reaction. I shake my head at him and hug him tight.

"I love it! Thank you." I cry holding him tight. "These are just happy tears." I tell him. Everyone comes over to join the hug and I happily except it.

"Mommy!" Our pups cheer. I smile down at them as they hold their arms up to me. I squat down, as best I can, to their level and they all hug me.
