Chapter 12

Selena

I Put on my best smile and took a microphone from my nearest reporter. I skipped the pleasantries and told them that I would only answer it once as eventually all of them has only one question.

I smiled again and said 'The girl in the video is not me, Thank you.'

There was another wave of questions but I chose to walk away with my head up. I know it wasn't enough for the reporters but it was enough for me. I was not going to get myself trapped in a tornado of questions. Behind me, Rhys shook his head with a smile while still trying to protect me from the crowd.

I was relieved to know that I had the ability to make people forget their stress for some moments at least.

We didn't speak during our ride back home. He just dropped me home and asked him to take the rest of the day off and I wanted to be alone.

I took a long shower, lit my lavender-scented candles, and decided to meditate for some time. The only thing that can put my mind at ease right now.

I was in deep sleep by the time Tia came home.

The following days of the week were full of bad news only.

The production team of "Destined lovers" called me and informed me I am being replaced because of the scandal.

I lost all my endorsements… and big projects.

Lost the movies I had signed up for… and my dream project of working with my favorite director.

Tia was so stressed handling all of the business parts and Rhys visited me every day making sure I was safe and sound. I told him he can take is a day off as I am not going to step out of the home. But he insisted stating he wouldn't be comfortable if he isn't going to be by my side.

I had asked Tia to move in with me as I didn't want to be alone and I'm so glad she agreed. Mainly, because she and Rhys were worried that something bad might happen if they aren't around, I knew why they had this fear in their hearts, it was because of me.
