Chapter 34. Luis's weak side

Zafran kept on whining, he wanted to go to the zoo. Zafran doesn't care if Luis doesn't want to go.

"Uncle doesn't need to go, just wait in the car, weeek ..." Zafran stuck his tongue out at Luis who was driving. "Yes, Aunty, Zafran wants to go to the zoo. Aunty promised at that time ..." Zafran pursed his mouth as a sign that he was protesting.

"But you don't allow Uncle," replied Winda.

"Don't want to know! Aunty promised," said Zafran, still not giving up.

Winda glanced at Luis and gave a big smile trying to ask Luis for his opinion, "How?"

"I don't like going to the Zoo, it's dirty, it's smelly, and it's hot" replied Luis. "But if you insist I will consider, but I also have a request" Luis began negotiating.

"What is your request?" asked Winda suspiciously.

"My request ..." Luis stopped his sentence, glanced at Winda, "I'll save it first, I'll ask when I need it." Luis starts cheating.

Forty minutes later, the three of them arrived at the zoo parking lot, the afternoon was so hot, the sun was shining brightly.

Zafran always sticks to Winda, Luis tries to get closer to Winda, taking advantage of the available time. Luis grabbed Winda's hand with his strong hand, holding it tightly like a shield ready to protect Winda.

Zafran did not let it last long, he immediately pulled Winda to see the elephant. After that Zafran walked between Luis and Winda. Luis is a little annoyed at Zafran's behavior that dominates Winda's attention, Luis encourages Zafran to walk in front, so that Luis can hold or hug Winda behind him, but Zafran always messes up and Winda can only laugh at the behavior of the two of them who are like little children.

Luis always keeps his distance when approaching animal cages, he can't stand the smell and is disgusted by animal waste. Even more surprising, Luis turned pale as he approached the reptile section. He only watched from a distance but Zafran teased him.

Zafran pulled Luis closer to show a large dark brown snake. Luis was surprised, his forehead was sweaty, his breath was short, and his left hand was holding his chest. His gaze continued to focus on the long-bodied beast, a few moments later he fell to the ground and then fainted.

An hour later Luis realized that he was lying on the bed in the zoo's medical room. Zafran kept crying beside Luis, Winda holding Luis's hand. Winda is also worried because Luis has passed out for a long time.

Zafran apologized as soon as Luis woke up, he was very scared. Zafran feels guilty for making Luis pass out.

Luis felt fine, he realized that Zafran was a good boy, at a young age he dared to apologize and admit his mistakes. However, he is not completely wrong because Luis is the one who has trauma to snakes and Zafran doesn't know that.

Winda also wonders why Luis passed out just seeing the snake, it must be because there is a deep reason.

Luis then told if his leg had been wrapped in a snake while walking in the zoo on a school outing. The good fortune of the snake did not bite because it was tame, but the snake's coils in its legs had left Luis trauma until now.

"Are you feeling better?" asked Winda.

"I'm fine, sorry you have to see my weak side," Luis lowered his head to say his sentence.

Zafran was sitting on the edge of the bed, Winda got up from his seat and grabbed Luis' cheeks with both hands, lifting Luis's face so that it was parallel to his.

"It's ok, not a big deal for me. You are still a great man who I love, that's just a small thing from the mountain of your strengths."

Luis smiled, he felt relieved because the woman in front of him could always calm his troubled heart.

"Thank you, dear."

"Uncle and Aunty are like mom and daddy," Zafran said with an innocent face.

"Of course, Uncle's Aunty," Luis said smugly as if he had won the battle. Luis hugged Winda like a child.

"Oh no, it hurts here," Zafran held his chest with both hands and acted grimacing in pain.

Zafran fell asleep on the way home. Arriving home, Luis immediately carried Zafran who was asleep on Winda's lap, carried him inside while his left hand took Winda.

"A new husband and wife," said Sis Lisa, chuckling when she saw Winda and Luis.

Winda's face flushed red and hurriedly pulled her hand which was held by Luis because she was embarrassed to be caught by Sis Lisa.

"Thanks," replied Luis in response to his brother's prank.

"Here, let me bring Zafran to the room, just enjoy your time together" Sis Lisa still smiled mischievously.

Winda stood in the back garden, waiting for Luis, who said he wanted to make a warm Cappuccino. Winda looked around the garden which was neatly arranged and beautiful, her hands folded on her chest holding back the cold night air that began to prick her bones.

Luis came with two cups of cappuccino placed on a small wooden table in front of a long wooden garden chair. Luis immediately approached Winda who looked cold.

"Is it warmer now?" Luis hugged Winda from behind, rested his chin on Winda's shoulder until their cheeks pressed against each other to share warmth.

Winda was surprised by Luis's sudden arrival but did not give any resistance to Luis's attitude. On the other hand, Winda felt comfortable and felt so warm with Luis's affection for her.

The night was getting late, a cup of cappuccino had been drunk by Winda. Luis feels that time flies so quickly when he is with Winda. He's still reluctant to end tonight's togetherness.

"Honey, spend the night here," asked Luis, squeezing Winda's hand gently.

"Tomorrow I work," Winda helpless.

"Come on, at least let me see you sleep tonight and greet you in the morning when you wake up, please ..." Luis put his hands together begging Winda, hoping Winda will obey his request.

Winda was helpless to refuse Luis's request, considering that today the man in front of her had tried a lot to beat his phobia.

"Ok, but if Mom gives permission." Winda took her cellphone to contact Bunda.

"Let me ask for permission from your Mom." Luis grabbed the cellphone in Winda's hand.

Luis gentlemanly asked Winda's permission to stay at his house with Mom. Initially, Mother Puspitasari did not allow it because it was not good for the girl to spend the night at her male friend's house.

However, Luis convinced Bunda that they slept in separate rooms and that Lisa and several assistants were in the house. I don't know what else Luis said to win Mother's trust until he got her permission to spend the night at Luis's house.

Winda did not feel surprised if in the end Mother melted by Luis's words because Mother loved this man like her own son.

It is very different from Mother's attitude towards Ari, her ex-boyfriend because Ari is not as smart as Luis in capturing the attention and affection of the Winda family.

From this alone, Winda can judge the seriousness of Luis in their relationship. Luis is a polite, loving, and caring man for Winda and her two masters. Luis knows that loving someone means loving her parents and siblings too.
