Aella tilted her head backwards and burst out laughing in the hallway.
She could see the lines in Bane's forehead creasing but she couldn't help herself but laugh at the amount of ridicule this young lad had just uttered.
"May I inquire what amuses you?" Bane asked with a deep frown.
"Oh, heavens, you could be a prominent jester," she held her stomach as she chuckled.
"I have no intentions of becoming one. What is so entertaining, care to explain?" He raised an eyebrow as his face darkened a bit.
Was he upset she had just laughed at his incredulous revelation?
"I find it so amusing that a measly human like you would be the great demon of Cassa Dron," she shook her head.
He? The demon? There is no way he could be that creature she was sent to slay, he looked all too…human for that.
"M-Measly?" She could hear the evident shock in his tone.
"Obviously. Just because you have a few techniques to hover one in the air like a floating bird doesn't mean you're suddenly so massive of a being. There is little difference between you and me," Aella rolled her eyes.
"The disparity we have is much more enormous than you assume, lady," Bane gritted.
"Oh, enlighten me. You have two legs just like mine, beautiful dangling arms, and a mind that thinks and speaks! Pray tell, what differences are you talking about, lad?" Aella tilted her head to the side and crossed her arms over her chest.
"I feel highly insulted that you would compare me to your kind," he clenched his teeth and glared.
"They said illusion does a huge damage to the brain and you are a perfect example of that," Aella turned away and began to walk down the hallway.
"I said I am the great demon you seek!" He insisted as he walked after her.
"Wait until your Master hears that," she scoffed.
"I have no Master!" He roared but she kept on with her path.
She couldn't believe he had the audacity to claim he was something he wasn't. A demon can never look like a human! The monsters she slew so far were nothing but disgusting and malproportioned figures.
"I am the demon of Cassa Dron!" His voice rang across the hallway.
Aella banged the door to her room behind her as Bane persisted with the lie he was telling her.
A slight flicker slipped into her mind that he might be telling the truth about being the rumoured vicious creature but it vanished as fast as it came.
If he was truly the demon, he would have devoured her the moment he set eyes on her, not fed, clothe and nurse her back to health.
It all didn't just make any sense!
With a huff, Aella stepped into the lavatory to perform her morning ablutions so she could feel refreshed.
*****
"No," he gritted out.
"What do you mean by no?" Aella furrowed her eyebrows.
"No as in a negative answer, a word to tell you I disagree with your request," he muttered and she rested her heavy head on her hand.
"And why is that?!" Aella hissed, almost losing her cool.
She just couldn't wait for the day she would strangle this lad with her very own hands.
"Because it is my domain and I decide," he said as a matter of fact.
"But you're not the owner of me, I can do anything I want and you have no right to stop me," Aella was adamant on this.
"But your request is too absurd," he argued.
"I don't see how wanting to step out for a while is absurd!" Aella retorted.
After cleansing herself up nicely, Aella had seen a clean dress placed on the bed with a set of undergarments as well.
She decided Bane must have placed them there while she was in the lavatory and she couldn't help but smile when she saw the beautiful dress.
It was a marron brown dress mixed in with a flair of milky white collars and sleeves. The fabric was so luxurious that it made her feel like she was on a soft cushion.
She noticed that the dress was also dated like the one from yesterday but Bane would never answer her curiosities so she didn't even bother to ask.
But she was pestering on something else.
Aella wanted to convince him to let her go out because she was getting stuffy in the room but inwardly, she wanted to see the exit of the Castle.
Her attempt to wound Bane and escape had failed last night and she wanted to devise other means to run away.
If only he would permit her to step out, she could get a clear vision of where she was and her next action would come into motion but he was being as stubborn as a mole.
'Obstinate brute!' She tsked in her head.
"It is absurd in every way," Bane muttered.
"Do you know how utterly suffocating being in one room can be? One needs to go out and kiss the fresh air for one to live, or would you rather see me dead due to being trapped in this mundane room for days?" Aella laid the back of her hand on her face as she wailed.
With all the improvisation she had to make from being here, she would excel in the theatres.
"Your exaggeration is laughable," his expression was the opposite of his statement.
"You say that yet can't even move a muscle in that sculptured face of yours," she hissed under her breath.
"Pardon?"
"Nothing," she quickly dismissed.
"Please, just let me out once. I am not going to fly away like a bird, I just want to get some air and see my surroundings. You can be there to watch me," Aella clasped her hands together and pleaded as she pouted.
"Please, please, please!!"
Bane didn't say anything for a while apart from the agitated look on his face.
"If I object, you will never stop badgering me, won't you?" He breathed out and Aella let out a tiny smile.
He was giving in already.
